حجازيو"مدينة بلا قلب" للشاعر المصري أحمد عب&

Mahmoud Ahmed Abdul Ghaffar 한국아랍어아랍문학회 2011 아랍어와 아랍문학 Vol.15 No.1

The image of the city became the main theme, and started to play an important rhetoric role in poetic works during the Second World War period in the modern Egyptian poetry. As a result of the war, changes in the Arab world occurred not only in politics, economics, society and history, but also in literature. Korean literature has changed after the Second World War too, but, as much as I know, the city didn’t become the main theme in poetry, the main reason, as I think, is that Arabic poetry followed the steps of the modern western poetry, classic, romantic, realistic, and the free verse, while the modern Korean poetry kept his own view point from one side, and made a successful connection with literature from the whole world, from the other side. In his first anthology “City without heart” Hejazy he has two views of the city. The first was a rejection of the city, and a yearning to return to his village and be with the people there. The second was the development of a compromise with the city. The poet felt real love and through his growing acceptance, he managed to see the good side of the city alongside the bad. The city of Kim Kwang Kyu is wetness for what happened to Korea and Korean society back further more three or four decades, where, for example, pollution and death were everywhere sensed and reported, so his poems offer an impressive self-portrait of a society in which everyone is reduced. The dominant tone of his collection is not a sentimental regret for the past, but a dark satire of the de-humanizing results of those processes which the public authorities often term“modernization”. The study will shed light on “City” and the methods employed in the technical literature of the writers. The study comparatively addressed the object lessons found in the meaning of the writers on one hand, while, on the other hand, looked at the main technical characteristics of the poets using analysis models of poetry. Hejazy was one of the first Arab poets talking about the city not only in one poem but in a whole collection, showing its ugly face, seeking for better life that can use the benefits of modernity without losing the great values that people already still have in the country side for example It is one of the achievements of Kim Kwang Kyu`s poems that they have made many aware of the deeper roots of the frequently criticized attitudes of selfishness and compromise they seem at first sight to characterize the modern urban mentality. He explores in his poems topics that more often the subjects of novels and short stories than of lyric verse. Thus the conclusion of these poems for modern humanity is that it is within the present reality that another, dreamed-of reality of freedom and truth has to be constructed by choice and by struggle.

      • Fabrication and characterization of Copper/Silicon Nitride composites

        Ahmed, Mahmoud A.,Daoush, Walid M.,El-Nikhaily, Ahmed E. Techno-Press 2016 Advances in materials research Vol.5 No.3

Copper/silicon nitride ($Cu/Si_3N_4$) composites are fabricated by powder technology process. Copper is used as metal matrix and very fine $Si_3N_4$ particles (less than 1 micron) as reinforcement material. The investigated powder were used to prepare homogenous ($Cu/Si_3N_4$) composite mixtures with different $Si_3N_4$ weight percentage (2, 4, 6, 8 and10). The produced mixtures were cold pressed and sintered at different temperatures (850, 950, 1000, $1050^{\circ}C$). The microstructure and the chemical composition of the produced $Cu/Si_3N_4$ composites were investigated by (SEM) and XRD. It was observed that the $Si_3N_4$ particles were homogeneously distributed in the Cu matrix. The density, electrical conductivity and coefficient of thermal expansion of the produced $Cu/Si_3N_4$ composites were measured. The relative green density, sintered density, electrical conductivity as well as coefficient of thermal expansion were decreased by increasing the reinforcement phase ($Si_3N_4$) content in the copper matrix. It is also founded that the sintered density and electrical conductivity of the $Cu/Si_3N_4$ composites were increased by increase the sintering temperature.

Evolution of Diastolic Dysfunction in Patients with Coronary Slow Flow Phenomenon and Acute Non-ST Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction

        Ahmed El Zayat,Mahmoud Abdelaziz,Ahmed Yousry,Ismail Ibrahim 한국심초음파학회 2021 Journal of Cardiovascular Imaging (J Cardiovasc Im Vol.29 No.4

BACKGROUND: Diastolic function has been reported to be impaired in many patients with coronary slow flow phenomenon (CSFP). CSFP has broad spectrum of clinical presentations, including non-ST elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI). We sought to study the short-term evolution of diastolic function in CSFP patients presenting with NSTEMI. METHODS: This study included 92 patients with CSFP and acute NSTEMI. Conventional echocardiography Doppler imaging and tissue Doppler echocardiography imaging were used to evaluate diastolic function during index NSTEMI and after 3 months. RESULTS: Mean age of study patients was 45.7 ± 6.8 years. The prevalence of diastolic dysfunction (DD) at baseline was 69 patients (75%) and 28 patients (30.4%) at 3 months, p < 0.001. Various diastolic function indices showed significant improvement from baseline to 3 months follow-up. E/Em was 17.32 ± 3.41 at baseline compared to 12.41 ± 5.58 at 3 months, p = 0.039. Septal e′ velocity was 5.67 ± 4.56 cm/s at baseline compared to 7.78 ± 3.22 cm/s at 3 months, p = 0.023. Medications used were not significantly different between those with improved versus unimproved DD. CONCLUSIONS: Diastolic function seems to improve over short-term follow-up in patients with CSFP presenting with NSTEMI. This could reflect a transient worsening during acute NSTEMI.

Nω-Nitro-L-Arginine Methylester Ameliorates Myocardial Toxicity Induced by Doxorubicin

( Mahmoud Ahmed Mansour ),( Ayman Gamal El Din ),( Mahmoud N. Nagi ),( Othman A. Al Shabanah ),( Abdullah M. Al Bekairi ) 생화학분자생물학회 2003 BMB Reports Vol.36 No.6

The effects of No-nitro-L-arginine methylester (L-NAME) and L-arginine on cardiotoxicity that is induced by doxorubicin (Dox) were investigated. A single dose of Dox 15mgkg i.p. induced cardiotoxicity, manifested biochemically by a significant elevation of serum creatine phosphokinase (CPK) activity [EC 2.7,3.2]. Moreover, cardiotoxicity was further confirmed by a significant increase in lipid peroxides, measured as malon-di-aldehyde (MDA) in cardiac tissue homogenates. The administration of L-NAME 4 mg/kg/d p.o. in drinking water 5 days before and 3 days after the Dox injection significantly ameliorated the cardiotoxic effects of Dox, judged by the improvement in both serum CPK activity and lipid peroxides in the cardiac tissue homogenates. On the other hand, the administration of L-arginine 70mg/kg/d p.o. did not protect the cardiac tissues against the toxicity that was induced by the Dox treatment. The findings of this study suggest that L-NAME can attenuate the cardiac dysfunction that is produced by the Dox treatment via the mechanism(s), which may involve the inhibition of the nitric oxide (NO) formation. L-NAME may, therefore, be a beneficial remedy for cardiotoxicity that is induced by Dox and can then be used to improve the therapeutic index of Dox.

A sinusoidal plate theory with 5-unknowns and stretching effect for thermomechanical bending of functionally graded sandwich plates

        Ahmed Hamidi,Abdelouahed Tounsi,Mohammed Sid Ahmed Houari,S. R. Mahmoud 국제구조공학회 2015 Steel and Composite Structures, An International J Vol.18 No.1

In this research, a simple but accurate sinusoidal plate theory for the thermomechanical bending analysis of functionally graded sandwich plates is presented. The main advantage of this approach is that, in addition to incorporating the thickness stretching effect, it deals with only 5 unknowns as the first order shear deformation theory (FSDT), instead of 6 as in the well-known conventional sinusoidal plate theory (SPT). The material properties of the sandwich plate faces are assumed to vary according to a power law distribution in terms of the volume fractions of the constituents. The core layer is made of an isotropic ceramic material. Comparison studies are performed to check the validity of the present results from which it can be concluded that the proposed theory is accurate and efficient in predicting the thermomechanical behavior of functionally graded sandwich plates. The effect of side-to-thickness ratio, aspect ratio, the volume fraction exponent, and the loading conditions on the thermomechanical response of functionally graded sandwich plates is also investigated and discussed.

The image of the "City" A comparative Literary study between "A journey to Seoul" by the Korean poet "Kim Kwang Kyu" with "A City without heart" by the Egyptian poet "Ahmad Abdul Mouty Hejazy

Osteoblast-Based Therapy—A New Approach for Bone Repair in Osteoporosis: Pre-Clinical Setting

Mahmoud Nadia Samy,Mohamed Mohamed Ragaa,Ali Mohamed Ahmed Mohamed,Aglan Hadeer Ahmed,Amr Khalda Sayed,Ahmed Hanaa Hamdy 한국조직공학과 재생의학회 2020 조직공학과 재생의학 Vol.17 No.3

BACKGROUND: Osteoporosis is a metabolic bone disease characterized by low bone density resulting in increased fracture susceptibility. This research was constructed to uncover the potential therapeutic application of osteoblasts transplantation, generated upon culturing male rat bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (BM-MSCs) in osteogenic medium (OM), OM containing gold (Au-NPs) or gold/hydroxyapatite (Au/HA-NPs) nanoparticles, in ovariectomized rats to counteract osteoporosis. METHODS: Forty rats were randomized into: (1) negative control, (2) osteoporotic rats, whereas groups (3), (4) and (5) constituted osteoporotic rats treated with osteoblasts yielded from culturing BM-MSCs in OM, OM plus Au-NPs or Au/ HA-NPs, respectively. After 3 months, osterix (OSX), bone alkaline phosphatase (BALP), sclerostin (SOST) and bone sialoprotein (BSP) serum levels were assessed. In addition, gene expression levels of cathepsin K, receptor activator of nuclear factor-jb ligand (RANKL), osteoprotegerin (OPG) and RANKL/OPG ratio were evaluated using real-time PCR. Moreover, histological investigation of femur bone tissues in different groups was performed. The homing of implanted osteoblasts to the osteoporotic femur bone of rats was documented by Sex determining region Y gene detection in bone tissue. RESULTS: Our results indicated that osteoblasts infusion significantly blunted serum BALP, BSP and SOST levels, while significantly elevated OSX level. Also, they brought about significant down-regulation in gene expression levels of cathepsin K, RANKL and RANKL/OPG ratio versus untreated osteoporotic rats. Additionally, osteoblasts nidation could restore bone histoarchitecture. CONCLUSION: These findings offer scientific evidence that transplanting osteoblasts in osteoporotic rats regains the homeostasis of the bone remodeling cycle, thus providing a promising treatment strategy for primary osteoporosis.

      • Co-Expression Network Analysis of AMPK and Autophagy Gene Products during Adipocyte Differentiation

        Ahmed, Mahmoud,Hwang, Jin Seok,Lai, Trang Huyen,Zada, Sahib,Nguyen, Huynh Quoc,Pham, Trang Min,Yun, Miyong,Kim, Deok Ryong MDPI 2018 INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF MOLECULAR SCIENCES Vol.19 No.6

<P>Autophagy is involved in the development and differentiation of many cell types. It is essential for the pre-adipocytes to respond to the differentiation stimuli and may contribute to reorganizing the intracellulum to adapt the morphological and metabolic demands. Although AMPK, an energy sensor, has been associated with autophagy in several cellular processes, how it connects to autophagy during the adipocyte differentiation remains to be investigated. Here, we studied the interaction between AMPK and autophagy gene products at the mRNA level during adipocyte differentiation using public-access datasets. We used the weighted-gene co-expression analysis to detect and validate multiple interconnected modules of co-expressed genes in a dataset of MDI-induced 3T3-L1 pre-adipocytes. These modules were found to be highly correlated with the differentiation course of the adipocytes. Several novel interactions between AMPK and autophagy gene products were identified. Together, it is possible that AMPK-autophagy interaction is temporally and locally modulated in response to the differentiation stimuli.</P>

        Review of Heterotopic Thyroid Autotransplantation

Mahmoud Sakr,Ahmed Mahmoud 대한이비인후과학회 2017 Clinical and Experimental Otorhinolaryngology Vol.10 No.4

Total thyroidectomy is increasingly accepted for the management of bilateral benign thyroid disorders. Postoperatively, patients require lifelong levothyroxine replacement therapy to avoid postoperative hypothyroidism, which besides the burden of compliance, has been proven to be associated with several long-term side effects. Heterotopic thyroid autotransplantation was proposed several decades ago to avoid the need for life-long postoperative replacement therapy with maintaining the autoregulatory mechanism of thyroxin production inside the body according to its needs. Available data regarding this topic in literature is relatively poor. Before applying thyroid autotransplantation on humans, several studies have been done on animals, where the autologous transplantations were found to be successful in almost all the cases, proved by follow up postoperative 8-week measurements of thyroid hormones and histopathological examination of the removed autografts. Regarding the clinical application, few trials have been done using cryopreserved in vivo, in vitro or immediately autotransplanted thyroid autografts. Satisfactory results were obtained, however, the number of these studies and the number of patients per each study was very low. Besides the study methodologies were not so consistent.

Synthesis, surface, biological activity and mixed micellar phase properties of some biodegradable gemini cationic surfactants containing oxycarbonyl groups in the lipophilic part

AHMED SALAH MAHMOUD TAWFIK 한국공업화학회 2015 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.28 No.-

Three biodegradable gemini cationic surfactants were synthesized and namely: N,N0-bis(2-hydro-xyethyl)-N,N0-dimethyl-N,N0-bis(2-(tetradecanoyloxy) ethyl)ethane-1,2-diaminium bromide; N,N0-bis(2-hydroxyethyl)-N,N0-dimethyl-N,N0-bis(2-(tetradecanoyloxy) ethyl) hexane-1,6-diaminium bromideand N,N0-bis(2-hydroxyethyl)-N,N0-dimethyl-N,N0-bis(2-(tetradecanoyloxy) ethyl)dodecane-1,12-diaminium bromide. The chemical structures of these compounds were characterized by FTIR, 1H NMRand elemental analysis spectroscopy. The surface parameter including: the critical micelle concentration(CMC), effectiveness (pcmc), efficiency (Pc20), maximum surface excess (Gmax) and minimum surface area(Amin), were calculated from it is surface tension measurements. The synthesized surfactants showedhigher surface activity. The thermodynamic parameters showed that adsorption and micellizationprocesses are spontaneous. It is clear that the synthesized surfactants showed their tendency towardsadsorption at the interfaces and also micellization in the bulk of their solutions. The synthesizedcompounds were applied on the field of biocide via measuring there efficiency against different strain ofpathogenic bacteria and fungi as well as sulfate reducing bacteria using inhibition zone diametersmethod and minimum inhibition concentration values. The synthesized compounds showed goodantimicrobial activities against the tested microorganisms including Gram positive, Gram negative andfungi as well as sulfate reducing bacteria. The biodegradability of the synthesized surfactants was testedin river water using Die-away method and showed their readily biodegradation in the openenvironment. The CMC of mixtures in equal mole fraction (G2 + G6 (5:5), G2 + G12 (5:5), G6 + G12(5:5)) and the CMC of mixtures was compared with pure gemini surfactants. Also the mixedmicellization parameters were calculated.
