        패션브랜드자산의 형성과정에 관한 연구 : 캐주얼 브랜드를 중심으로 Focused on casual wear brand

        In this complex marketing world, marketers find themselves having to grapple with difficult issues about branding and their brand management. In many cases, a deeper understanding of how consumers feel, think, and act could provide valuable guidance to address these brand-management challenges. The objective of this study is to conceptualize and test the framework of building fashion brand equity, utilizing Keller's CBBE Model as a theoretical framework and Kim and Lim's (2002) scale as a measurement model of fashion brand equity. We conducted a survey toward 696 university students using Kim and Lim's fashion brand equity scale. To test the hypothesized building paths of fashion brand equity, statistical analyses were performed with AMOS 4.1 program using confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation model. The results of this study were as follows. First, fashion brand equity was defined in terms of six components; customer-brand resonance, customer feeling, customer judgment, brand imagery, brand performance and brand awareness. Fashion brand equity was multi-dimensional brand attitude, which could be measured by 16 items. Consequently, Kim and Lim's scale acquired a statistical validity. Second, the proposed conceptual framework of this study was partially significant. We can provide an effectiveness of Keller's CBBE model to conceptualize the building process of fashion brand equity. Third, it was different between two brands to build fashion brand equity.

        The LIM-only transcription factor LMO2 determines tumorigenic and angiogenic traits in glioma stem cells

        Glioblastomas (GBMs) maintain their cellular heterogeneity with glioma stem cells (GSCs) producing a variety of tumor cell types. Here we interrogated the oncogenic roles of Lim domain only 2 (LMO2) in GBM and GSCs in mice and human. High expression of LMO2 was found in human patient-derived GSCs compared with the differentiated progeny cells. LMO2 is required for GSC proliferation both in vitro and in vivo, as shRNA-mediated LMO2 silencing attenuated tumor growth derived from human GSCs. Further, LMO2 is sufficient to induce stem cell characteristics (stemness) in mouse premalignant astrocytes, as forced LMO2 expression facilitated in vitro and in vivo growth of astrocytes derived from Ink4a/Arf null mice and acquisition of GSC phenotypes. A subset of mouse and human GSCs converted into vascular endothelial-like tumor cells both in vitro and in vivo, which phenotype was attenuated by LMO2 silencing and promoted by LMO2 overexpression. Mechanistically, the action of LMO2 for induction of glioma stemness is mediated by transcriptional regulation of Jagged1 resulting in activation of the Notch pathway, whereas LMO2 directly occupies the promoter regions of the VE-cadherin gene for a gain of endothelial cellular phenotype. Subsequently, selective ablation of human GSC-derived VE-cadherin-expressing cells attenuated vascular formation in mouse intracranial tumors, thereby significantly prolonging mouse survival. Clinically, LMO2 expression was elevated in GBM tissues and inversely correlated with prognosis of GBM patients. Taken together, our findings describe novel dual roles of LMO2 to induce tumorigenesis and angiogenesis, and provide potential therapeutic targets in GBMs.

        1960년대 말 김수근의 도시건축에 나타난 인공대지에 관한 연구

        The purpose of this research is to analyse Kim Swoo Geun"s concept of the artificial land illustrated in his article "Urban Image of the Future" (1962) and to consider how the concept was applied to the proposals of his two urban architecture projects in late 1960s - Sewoonsangga (1966~67) and Yeouido Master Plan (1969). His article shows that the causes of his adoption of the artificial land were related to "segregating a pedestrian road from a motor way", "increasing a building floor area along with securing a large green space", "giving dwelling units flexible sizes", and "longing for futurism", but of course the artificial land idea was applied to the two projects in varying degrees. Nevertheless, "segregating a pedestrian road from a motor way" was the most clear factor of the artificial land in the two projects, and "longing for futurism" was a fundamental inspiration for both of them. Also, because the size of the projects was enlarged from one building to an urban plan, if comparing the two, this paper argues that Yeouido Master Plan came to closer to Kim Swoo Geun"s "Urban Image of the Future" than Sewoonsangga. Even though Kim"s acceptance of the artificial land concept could be criticized for its limitation in execution, especially owing to the gap between ideal and reality; it can be considered significant enough to weigh up both Kim"s and Korean architecture"s developmental phases within the world architectural geography and to expose the deep strata of Korean modern history.

        Optimizing the Hospital Blood Bank Stock in Korea: A Comparative Analysis of the Uniform 5-Day Stock Index and a Novel Blood Stock Index

        Background: Maintaining optimal blood inventory levels in hospitals is important to prevent blood shortage and wastage. We aimed to provide an efficient blood inventory management strategy for hospital blood banks nation-wide by comparing the current use of 5-day issuable stock (IS) with Lim’s IS as a novel target IS. Methods: The average and CV of daily usage (DU) were calculated from information entered into Korea’s Blood Management System by 194 participating hospitals in 2019 and 2020. Using these data, Lim’s IS was calculated by determining the simulated annual average blood shortage day nearest to 1 for each blood group in each hospital. The 5-day IS (5IS) was estimated by multiplying the average DU in 2018 by five to count the shortage days in 2019. Results: The average DU (0.3–231.3 units) and corresponding CV (0.33–7.14) in the participating hospitals were inversely proportional (r=–0.699 to –0.695). The hypothetical averages of 5IS and Lim’s IS were 27.0±41.2 and 24.7±20.8, respectively (P=0.006). The shortage days for 5IS and Lim’s IS were 8.9±22.7 and 1.0±1.9, respectively (P<0.001). Conclusions: While 5IS was unacceptable for universal application, Lim’s IS remained near one shortage day and is considered more efficient than 5IS. Hospitals should implement indicators that consider DU and its variations. This is the first study to introduce Lim’s IS as an indicator of optimal blood inventory, and the data are expected to provide guidance for effective blood inventory management nationwide, particularly during blood shortages.

        우산형 대립가설에 대한 회귀직선의 평행성을 검정하는 점근 분포무관 검정법을 제안하고, 제안된 검정통계량의 점근 분포를 포함한 점근적 성질들을 연구하고자 한다. 기존의 Kim과 Lim(1994)의 검정법과의 비교 연구를 통하여 제안된 검정법이 우수함을 보였다. An asymptotically distribution-free procedure is proposed for paralelism of krefression lines aganist umbrella alternatives. Asympototic properties arediscussed, and comparative results relative to Kim and Lim(1994)'s tests show that our precedure os generally more powerful.

        Curcumin ameliorates cadmium-induced nephrotoxicity in Sprague-Dawley rats

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Chronic exposure to cadmium (Cd) causes remarkable damage to the kidneys, a target organ of accumulated Cd after oral administration. The aim of the present study was to investigate the protective effect of curcumin against Cd-induced nephrotoxicity. Sprague–Dawley male rats were divided into the following four treatment groups: control, curcumin (50 mg/kg, oral), CdCl<SUB>2</SUB>, (25 mg/kg, oral), and pre-treatment with curcumin (50 mg/kg) 1 h prior to the administration of CdCl<SUB>2</SUB> (25 mg/kg, oral) for 7 days. At 24 h after the final treatment, the animals were killed, and the biomarkers associated with nephrotoxicity were measured. Our data indicated that blood urea nitrogen (BUN) and serum creatinine (sCr) levels were significantly reduced by curcumin pre-treatment in CdCl<SUB>2</SUB>-treated animals. Histopathological studies showed hydropic swelling and hypertrophy of the proximal tubular cells in the renal cortex after Cd treatment. Pretreatment with curcumin ameliorated the histological alterations induced by Cd. The urinary excretion of kidney injury molecule-1 (Kim-1), osteopontin (OPN), tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases 1 (TIMP-1), neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL), and netrin-1 significantly reduced by curcumin treatment compared to that in the CdCl<SUB>2</SUB>-treated group. The administration of curcumin provided a significant protective effect against Cd-induced nephrotoxicity.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Curcumin protects against cadmium-induced renal injury. </LI> <LI> Curcumin reduces urinary excretion of AKI biomarkers. </LI> <LI> Curcumin protects against cadmium-induced apoptosis in the kidney. </LI> </UL> </P>

        Structure of Li<sub>5</sub>AlS<sub>4</sub> and comparison with other lithium-containing metal sulfides

        Lithium aluminum sulfide (Li<SUB>5</SUB>AlS<SUB>4</SUB>) was synthesized by solid state reaction, and its crystal structure was characterized by ab initio structure determination on the basis of powder neutron diffraction (ND) data. Li<SUB>5</SUB>AlS<SUB>4</SUB> was found to have monoclinic unit cell (space group, P2<SUB>1</SUB>/m) with the lattice parameters: a = 6.8583(4)A, b = 7.8369(4)A, c = 6.2488(4)A, and β = 90.333(4)<SUP>o</SUP>. This structure is built from a hexagonal close-packed (hcp) arrangement of sulfur atoms with a stacking sequence of ...ABAB.... The hcp sulfide lattice consists of two different double-sulfide layers alternately stacked along the c-axis. Between the first pair of sulfur layers all the tetrahedral interstices (T<SUP>+</SUP> and T<SUP>-</SUP> sites) are filled with lithium and aluminum atoms. All octahedral interstices between the second pair of sulfur layers are occupied by the remaining lithium atoms. The structure of Li<SUB>5</SUB>AlS<SUB>4</SUB> is compared with those of various lithium-containing metal sulfides like Li<SUB>2</SUB>FeS<SUB>2</SUB>, NaLiMS<SUB>2</SUB> (M = Zn, Cd), Li<SUB>4</SUB>GeS<SUB>4</SUB>, LiM'S<SUB>2</SUB> (M' = Al, Ga, In) and γ-Li<SUB>3</SUB>PS<SUB>4</SUB>. Each sulfide represents a specific distribution of lithium atoms in the lattice depending on how the octahedral and tetrahedral interstitial sites are filled. The low ionic conductivity of Li<SUB>5</SUB>AlS<SUB>4</SUB> (9.7 x 10<SUP>-9</SUP>Scm<SUP>-1</SUP> at 323K) relative to other sulfides may be due to the highly-ordered distribution of the lithium atoms in the layered structure and the lack of adjacent void spaces that can be used for lithium ion hopping.

        The level of urinary aflatoxin M1 in Korean adults

        Competitive ELISA methods were used to measure the level of aflatoxin M1 (AFM1) from urine in 1008 Korean adults. Subjects were selected by random sampling in all areas of Korea, except Cheju-do. The recovery rate of AFM1 using this method was 105% (73-124%). The geometric mean of urinary AFM1 in all subjects was 3.43 pg/mL (3.67 ng/g creatinine). The level of AFM1 in males was statistically higher, compared with female subjects. However, the levels of AFM1 did not differ according to age. Subjects in Chungbuk-do showed the highest urinary AFM1 concentration, whereas subjects in Kyeongnam-do showed the lowest concentration. Assuming an excretion rate of 5%, this AFM1 excretion corresponds to approximately 0.1 microgram/day in Korean adults.

        Evaluation of Renal Toxicity by Combination Exposure to Melamine and Cyanuric Acid in Male Sprague-Dawley Rats

        Melamine-induced nephrotoxicity is closely associated with crystal formation in the kidney caused by combined exposure to melamine (Mel) and cyanuric acid (CA). However, there are few dosage-finding studies for toxicological evaluation of chronic co-exposure to Mel and CA. The objective of this study was to investigate the possible mechanism by which a Mel and CA mixture lead to renal toxicity in rats. Mel and CA were co-administered to rats via oral gavage for 50 days. Nephrotoxicity was determined by measuring blood urea nitrogen (BUN) and serum creatinine (sCr) levels. Relative kidney weights were significantly increased in rats after co-exposure to Mel+CA (63/6.3 or 630/6.3 mg/kg) mixtures. BUN and sCr levels were significantly increased after Mel and CA co-exposure. Taken together, significant increase in KIM-1, NGAL, and calbindin levels were observed in the urine of rats exposed to Mel+CA (63/6.3 or 630/6.3 mg/kg) compared with the corresponding control group. Histological analysis revealed epithelial degeneration and necrotic cell death in the proximal tubules of the kidney after co-exposure to Mel+CA (63/6.3 or 630/6.3 mg/kg). Our data suggest that Mel-mediated renal toxicity may be influenced by CA concentrations in Mel-contaminated milk or foods.

        This study aims at analyzing the flow characteristics of the electromagnetic pump using a linear induction motor (LIM) for transferring molten metals. The flow characteristics of the pump are simulated by magnetohydrodynamic(MHD) program. In this system, the LIM is used for transferring molten metal by electromagnetic force. The molten metal is treated as the secondary part of the LIM. Since the LIM produces an electromagnetic force in the duct, the molten metal can flow from the furnace to the reservoir. The flow characteristics of the pump are analyzed using MHD program for magnetic field of 0.1[T] in duct. In order to prove the analysis, we made a prototype electromagnetic pump using LIM.
