Recently, researcher relating to FIB technology have tried found another application to use the powerful specification in the point of below 10㎚ focused ion beam in diameter. In the paper, we focus the development of fabrication process and application for micro and nano structure manufacturing. Therefore we have carried out the experiments of FIB-sputtering according to with and without GAE and tilt angle, and FIB-CVD according to dwell time. From the results, we found the aspect ratio of pattern for FIB-Sputtering and FIB-CVD. And yield and minimum feature size characteristic could be analyzed according to tilt angle and dwell time, which are considered the dominant parameter.

Unpredictable customer needs strongly require for manufacturing enterprises to produce quality products satisfying cost and time constraints. To cope with such dynamically changing manufacturing environment and to get higher competi-tiveness, the manufacturing industry needs to equip with advanced technologies including IT as well as substantial in-frastructure. i-Manufacturing is korean government driven project for achieving manufacturing innovation in Korea. The first application industry is mould and die industry. Because the effect of innovation in mould and die industry is transmitted to other manufacturing industry. The most basic but important concept of the i-Manufacturing is collaboration. As a part of the project, we are developing 7 different collaboration systems which is currently used by more than 300 mould & die companies. In this paper, we first in-troduce the i-Manufacturing and collaboration systems we have developed. The collaboration strategy in mould and die industry will also explained in detail.

As recently optical communication industry is developed, request of optical communication part is increased. Ferrule is very important part which determines transmission efficiency and quality of information in the optical communication part. Most of ferrule processes are grinding which request high processing precision. Particularly, concentricity and cylindricity of inner and outer diameter is very important. The co-axle grinding process of ferrule is to make its concentricity all of uniform before centerless grinding. Surface integrity of ferrule is affected by kind of grinding wheels, grinding conditions, and characteristic of workpiece and equipment. In this study, surface integrity of workpiece according to change of grinding wheel speed, feed rate, regulating wheel speed and grinding force is investigate to improve the concentricity and roundness of ferrule from many experiments.

Most of ferrule processes are grinding which request high processing precision. The ultra precision centerless grinding machine for ferrule grinding was designed. The centerless grinding machine is composed of the high damping bed, grinding wheel spindle unit, regulating wheel spindle unit, feeding table and dressing unit. Reliability prediction was very important for the high quality design. In this study, centerless grinding machine was predicted reliability.
