High-pressure membrane system like nanofiltration(NF) and reverse osmosis(RO) was investigated as a part of water treatment processes to produce high quality potable water with low organic matter concentration through membrane module tests and design simulation. River water and sand filtration permeate in Busan D water treatment plant were selected as feed water, and NE4040-90 and RE4040-Fen(Toray Chemical Korea) were used as NF and RO membranes, respectively. Total organic carbon(TOC) concentrations of NF and RO permeates were mostly below 0.5 mg/l and the average TOC removal rates of NF and RO membranes were 93.99% and 94.28%, respectively, which means NF used in this study is competitive with RO in terms of organic matter removal ability. Different from ions rejection tendency, the TOC removal rate increases at higher recovery rates, which is because the portion of higher molecular weight materials in the concentrated raw water with increasing recovery rate increases. Discharge of NF/RO concentrates to rivers may not be acceptable because the increased TDS concentration of the concentrates can harm the river eco-system. Thus, the idea of using NF/RO concentrate as the raw water for industrial water production was introduced. The design simulation results with feed water and membranes used in this work reveal that the raw water guideline can be satisfied if the recovery rate of NF/RO system is designed below 80%.

공군사관학교 영어 교육과정 개선을 위한 제언

본 연구의 목적은 공군사관학교의 영어 교육과정을 개선하는 방법을 조사하는 것이다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 공군사관학교 영어 교육 현황을 조사하고, 문제점을 분석한 후 영어 교육과정 개선에 필요한 방법을 제시하고자 하였다. 이 연구의 결과는 학생들에게 영어 학습을 위한 충분한 기회를 제공하기 위해 영어 교양과목을 개설할 필요가 있음을 보여준다. 또한, 현재 필수 영어 과목으로 운영되고 있는 대학영어(College English)와 군사영어(Military English) 과목을 학생들의 영어 수준에 따라 반을 구분하여 운영할 필요가 있다. 그리고 비정규과목으로 운영 중인 영어 학습 활동은 학생들의 참여율을 높이기 위해 운영 방식의 개선이 요구된다. 마지막으로, 학생들의 졸업 충족 요건 중의 하나로 사용되고 있는 TOEIC Speaking 평가를 위한 충분한 기회 제공과 특정 점수를 충족하지 못한 학생들에 대한 관리 제도의 개선이 필요하다. The purpose of the current study is to investigate ways of improving the English curriculum of the Korea Air Force Academy (KAFA). To this end, this study examines the current status of English education at the KAFA, identifies any problems related to the English curriculum, and tries to provide suggestions to develop the curriculum. The result of the study indicates that the curriculum needs more electives which students can take to study English. It also suggests that two compulsory English courses must be operated based on students' English levels. In addition, some improvements on extra-curriculum activities should be made to increase the participation rate. Finally, it is suggested that some elective courses should be provided for students to prepare for TOEIC Speaking Test, the score of which is used as a graduation requirement. The students who do not meet the English graduation requirement need to be forced to take an additional English course.

Cloze test의 안면타당도와 수업에서 효과적인 사용방법에 관한 연구

본 연구의 목적은 영어 읽기 능력 평가를 위한 시험 방식 중 하나인 cloze test의 안면타당도와 효과적인 사용방법을 영어학습자들의 인식을 통해 조사하는 것이다. 본 연구는 연구대상자로 대학교 1학년 영어학습자 76명을 선정하였으며, 영어 읽기 수업에서 cloze test를 시행하고 학생들의 인식을 조사하였다. 연구에 참여한 학생의 50%가 cloze test의 타당도를 낮게 평가했으며, 시험 난이도와 cloze test를 위해 필요한 영어 지식이 무엇인가에 대한 인식 차이가 이 시험의 타당도를 평가하는 데 영향을 준 것으로 판단된다. 또한, cloze test에서 빈칸을 제작하는 방식 및 지문의 종류도 타당도 평가와 연관이 있음이 확인되었다. cloze test의 효과적인 사용 방법에 대한 의견으로는 이 시험의 사용 목적에 적합한 빈칸 만들기, cloze test를 위한 기술 및 전략 학습의 필요성, 그리고 학습자 수준을 고려한 시험 방식의 적용 등이 제시되었다. The purpose of this study is to examine the face validity and effective use of the cloze test, one of the test methods for evaluating English reading ability, through the perception of English learners. This study selected 76 first-year college English learners as subjects for research, and conducted a cloze test in an English reading class and examined the perception of students. 50% of the students who participated in the study underestimated the validity of the cloze test, and it was judged that differences in the difficulty of the test and the perception of what the English knowledge required for the cloze test affected the validity of the test. In addition, it was confirmed that the type of reading passage and the method of making blank spaces in the cloze test were also related to the assessment of the validity of the test. Opinions on how to use the cloze test effectively suggested making blanks suitable for the purpose of use of this test, the need for learning skills and strategies for the cloze test, and the application of the test method considering the language levels of students.

Disability-inclusive Workplace: A Case of Openhands' IT-related Business in Korea

유엔의 지속가능발전목표(UN, 2015, 목표 8)에서 장애인 고용이 강조되고 있지만, 이러한 목표를 달성하기 위해 무엇을 어떻게 해야 하는지를 보여주는 성공 사례는 거의 없다. 본 연구의 목적은 전통적인 노동 시장에서 자회사형 장애인표준사업장이 IT 전문사업을 통해 장애인을 고용하고, 교육하고, IT 비즈니스 서비스를 성공시켰는지를 고찰해 보는 것이다. SER-M 모델 프레임워크를 활용하여 자회사형 표준사업장인 오픈핸즈의 사례를 살펴보고, 이 기업이 지속 가능한 비즈니스를 만들기 위해 주체(S), 환경(E), 자원(R)을 어떻게 조율했는지 분석해 보았다. 분석 결과, 오픈핸즈의 IT 특화 사업의 성공 요인은 장애인 직원들의 역량향상과 고용 안정성을 유지하기 위해 혁신적인 의사결정을 내리는 강력한 리더십에서 비롯되었으며, (1) 장애인 고용과 전문성 개발을 동시에 지원하는 기업의 사회적 책임 활동, (2) 다양성과 포용을 촉진하는 기업 내부의 정책과 문화, (3) 모기업과의 시너지를 통한 상생 전략 등 혁신적인 기업 문화에서 비롯된 내부 메커니즘에 의해 조율된 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구를 통해 장애인 관련 정책전문가, 장애인 채용을 원하는 기업과 경영자, 사회복지사, 장애인을 위한 전문 교육기관 등은 장애인들의 고용 기회와 직업 전문성 개발을 확대할 수 있는 인사이트를 얻을 수 있다. 또한, 기존연구에서 장애인의 직업전문성을 다룬 사례 연구가 부족했던 공백을 메울 수 있을 것으로 기대한다. 다만, 연구 대상인 오픈핸즈는 100여개의 국내 자회사형 표준사업장 중 단일 사례임을 감안할 때, IT 분야 외에도 다른 자회사형 장애인표준사업장의 직업전문성 사례들과의 비교 연구를 통한 연구 보완이 필요할 것으로 생각된다. Although employment of people with disabilities has been emphasized in the UN Sustainable Development Goals (United Nations, 2015, goal 8), few successful cases have demonstrated what and how to achieve such a goal. The purpose of this study is to explore a disability-inclusive workplace in Republic of Korea, how the workplace for people with disabilities employ, train, and facilitate IT services in the traditional labor market. Drawing on ser-M model framework, we examined a case of Openhands, a subsidiary type of standard workplace for people with disabilities, and how the business coordinated subject, environment, and resources to make a sustainable business. The analysis showed that the success factors of Openhands' disability-inclusive and IT-related business originated from the visionary leadership in making innovative decisions for people with disabilities. In particular, we found that Openhands' IT-related workplace was orchestrated by internal mechanisms stemming from the corporate culture: (1) corporate social responsibility activities to hire and support the professional development of people with disabilities, (2) a policy and culture that promotes diversity and inclusion, and (3) a win-win strategy through synergy with the parent company. Policymakers, business executives, social workers, and adult educators can gain insights from the case to broaden employment opportunities and professional development for people with disabilities.
