A New Species of the Genus Burmoniscus (Isopoda, Oniscidea, Philosciidae) from Ko Phuket, Thailand

A new species, Burmoniscus phuketensis, is described from Ko Phuket, Thailand. The new species belongs to the group characterized by male pereopods 1 and 2 with enlarged and flattened carpi, including B. coecus (Budde-Lund, 1895), B. ferrarai (Schumalfuss, 1983), B. mossambicus (Ferrara and Taiti, 1985), B. rowei Taiti and Manicastri, 1988, and B. rakataensis Green, Ferrara and Taiti, 1990. Among them, this new species resembles B. coecus and B. rakataensis in the pigmentless body and the shape of pereonite 7 epimeron with acute postero-lateral corner, but is easily distinguished from both specie by the shape of telson. While the eyes are absent in B. coecus, they are present in this new species. A new species, Burmoniscus phuketensis, is described from Ko Phuket, Thailand. Two New Species of the Genus Nesodillo (Isopoda, Oniscidea, Armadillidae) from Philippines

Two new species of the genus Nesodillo Verhoeff, 1926, N. kimi and N. philippinensis, are described from Philippines. For the shape of frontal shield, Nesodillo kimi resembles N. monticola (Vandel, 1973) from New Guinea, but differs from it in the shape of male pleopod 1 exopod. N. philippinensis is distinguished from N. kimi by the shape of frontal shield not depressed in the middle of upper border, and of telson with broadly rounded distal margin.

The IDI type constant volume chamber is used in this study, which is applied Indirect Injection stratified charge method to solve the problems of lean-bum such as misfire and cycle-variation by the unstable initial ignition. It has a sub-chamber formed the ignitable mixture under the low mean equivalence ratio. After combustion starts in the sub-chamber, the flame issues as a jet through the passage hole into the main chamber, and the entrained flame ignite the lean mixture in the main chamber. There are many factors to effect on the combustion characteristics in indirect injection stratified engine. The passage hole angle is the most important factor in that determine the direction of issued fuel and flame to the main chamber. In this study, we measured combustion pressure, surface temperature of wall and computed heat flux to clarify the combustion characteristics and heat loss on each passage hole angle and equivalence ratio in the main chamber

We use the IDI type constant volume which is applied Indirect Injection strafied charge method to solve the problems of lean-burn such as misfire and cycle-variation. There are many factors to effect on the combustion charateristics in indirect injection strafied engine. The passagehole angle is the most important factor in that determine the direction of inflowed fuel and flame to the main chamber. In this study, we measured combustion pressure and wall temperature to examine the combustion characteristics and heat flux with the passagehole angle in the main chamber.
