      • One-Chip Microcontroller Starting Switch of The Single-Phase Induction Motor

        단상유도전동기는 구조가 간단, 보수가 간편, 가격이 저렴한 이점 등을 가지고 있지만 기동 토크를 발생시키기 위하여 일반적으로 보조권선을 추가하고 보조권선에 원심력스위치와 진상용 콘덴서를 삽입하여 사용하고 있으며 산업용 소용량 동력장치와 가정용, 사무용 기기에 널리 이용되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 단상유도전동기의 원심력스위치와 진상용 콘덴서를 제거하고 원 칩 마이크로컨트롤러를 이용한 주권선과 보조권선의 기동시 전류제어 실험결과를 나타냈으며, 새로운 원 칩 마이크로컨트롤러 스위치를 개발하여 단상유도전동기의 소프트 스타팅을 제안하였다.

        For the SPIM is can't generate rotating flux itself, an additional starting system should be installed on the SPIM. There are several methods embody the starting system. Among the methods, the capacitor start method is composed of a starting condenser and centrifugal. But the centrifugal switch and the starting condenser have some problems of the starting failure, the breaking under the worse condition and it brings about the short life of the motor.l), 2) ,3) Nowadays, users demand higher efficiency, reliability, miniaturization and noise immunity than the conventional motor. The conventional control drivers using variable frequency and DSP control have not been applied to drivers using variable frequency and DSP control have not been applied to the SPIM because of starting problems and cost. In this paper, new analog starting control strategy is proposed instead of capacitor start method. When the starting current of the motor is minimized phase angle difference in the main and auxiliary winding without the centrifugal switch and the starting condenser, the efficiency of motor is improved. The proposed analog control of the SPIM is obtained with new strategy through experimental results.

      • 보조권선 전압제어에 의한 단상유도전동기 기동특성에 관한 연구

        The most common starting method of the single phase induction motor(SPIM) is to install a starting condenser and a centrifugal switch in series with the auxiliary winding. This method is simple but life of the SPIM is short, efficiency improvement has limitation because of the malfunction of the starting condenser and the centrifugal switch. In the general, starting characteristics of the single phase induction motor is accomplished by the amplitude voltage and phase angle difference between main and auxiliary winding. In the reason, the applied voltage amplitude of the single phase induction motor is controlled for improvement starting performence characteristics. In this paper, the starting characteristics of the SPIM is improved by voltage control strategy of auxiliary winding. Finally, the excellent starting performance and characteristics of the SPIM are shown through simulation and experimental results.

      • AC-AC Converter를 이용한 단상유도전동기 속도·토오크 제어

        Single Phase Induction Motors are one of the most widely used motors in the world, yet relatively light work has been done in the application of power electronic converters to these motors to achieve variable speed operationi. Generally, the speed control of single phase induction motor is accomplished at a few discrete speed by using tapped-winding, pole switching or gear. These are inefficient and complicated. In the this reason, applied voltage of the single phase induction motor controlled for improvement speed-torque characteristics. The AC-AC converter can be easily realized using power MOSFET. Control method of AC-AC converter has variance of output waveforms by on·off technique because control circuit consists of bidirectional switch. The output voltage from the AC-AC converter is applied to the main and the auxiliary winding of the single phase induction motor. In this paper, simulated and experimental results of the single phase induction motor' s speed-torque characteristics are shown and discussed by AC-AC converter control.

      • 단상유도전동기의 소프트 기동특성에 관한 연구

        Single phase induction motors(SPIM's) have been widely used in applications of light duty such as washing machines, oil burners, bottle washers, blowers, grinders, machine tools, and a host of other applications. SPIM' s are inherently suitable for single phase power supplies, very simple in structure and rugged, of which rotor structure is generally squirrel cage rotor similar to polyphase induction motors. The SPIM can not start as such motors but once start in a given direction by mechanical switch it can approach nearly synchronous speed on condition that the load torque is not excessive. The capacitor starting method has been widely used to start SPIM for producing a dominant rotating magnetic field at standstill. To overcome the lack of sufficient starting torque, capacitor starting SPIM is provided both capacitor and centrifugal switch in series with the auxiliary winding circuit. A new method to start smoothingly a single phase induction motor by using a TRIAC is presented in this paper without the centrifugal switch. Solid state soft starters based on TRIAC's often used to decrease the starting current of the three phase motors. However, Even today, the capacitor-start single phase induction motor using centrifugal or relay switch is one of the most important and most widely used of all the types of single phase motors. In this paper, single phase induction motor input current was detected by a small current transformer. The soft start strategy is based on limited auxiliary current angle during starting period in the closed loop control. Simulation and experimental results of the SPIM using the TRIAC control are studied and discussed in the aspects of starting characteristics of the SPIM.

      • THD 감소를 위한 단상공간벡터 변조방식의 정류기 설계

        A single-phase PWM current source rectifier with a neutral leg is presented and throughly analyzed in this paper. This novel topology is implemented by adding an extra leg a step-down single phase PWM space vector modulation method to reduce the dc output voltage harmonics. The PWM pattern generation need a digital system. As compared with a conventional single-phase PWM rectifier, over 20% improvement of the total harmonics distortion in the output voltage can be obtained. Different SVM techniques are analyzed for this PWM rectifier and simulation results are presented.

      • 전류 위상각 제어에 의한 단상유도전동기의 에너지 절감에 관한 연구

Nowadays, users demand higher efficiency, reliability, miniaturization and noise immunity than the conventional motor. This paper describes a simple but effective method for energy saving of ac motors having a widely variable load. The proposed method is based on an optimal efficiency control which is operated by voltage-current pattern such as to maintain the maximum efficiency on the efficiency-output characteristics of the motor, in voltage control with TRIAC. In this paper, author presents the experimental results of the SPIM under phase angle controlling of current of main and auxiliary winding by using a one-chip microcontroller. Experiments are focused on a capacitor starting single phase induction motor, the optimal energy savingare proved by the proposed method.

      • 지하공동구 방재시스템에 관한 연구

        The utility tunnels are the important facility as a mainstay of country because of the latest communication developments. However, the utilities tunnel is difficult to deal with in case of a fire accident. When a cable burns, the black smoke containing poisonous gas will be produced. This black smoke goes into the tunnel, and makes it difficult to extinguish the fire. Therefore, when there was a fire in the utility tunnel, the central nerves of the country had been paralyzed, such as property damage, communication interruption, in addition to inconvenience for people. This paper is based on the fire occurred in the utilities tunnel in the past, and is suggested the case investigation related to fire accidents, the design planning matters, the good maintenance of fire protection systems of tunnels and the flame retardant cable utility of tunnels. The purpose of the study is to protect human being and properties at the occurrence of fire accident, and to present basic material for design of tunnels to minimize damages and losses.
