The purpose of this paper is to analyze characteristics of the complementary picturebook in The Tale of Peter Rabbit. Since the birth of modern picturebook in the end of the 19th century, one of the outstanding writers and picturebook painters was Beatrix Potter. Her picturebook is a prototype of picturebook format. By studying from an old story and the interplay between text and picture, we can understand a tension between text and picture and resolve the discrepancy. There are the differences of the classification of the picturebook shape and the picturebook concept. We must distinguish picture books from illustrated books. The majority of picturebook can be labeled symmetrical, consonant, or complementary picturebook. The characteristics of the picturebook in The Tale of Peter Rabbit of Beatrix Potter are complementary works, forms of an old story, educational factors, animal characters, objective pictures or subjective pictures. This paper aims to analyze the object and the desire of love in The Frog King and Beauty and the Beast through the psychoanalyses of Jacques Lacan reinterpreted from Sigmund Freud’s interpretation. The Frog King and Beauty and the Beast are the animal bridegroom tales. Animal and monster in the Western fairy tale met a beauty and married her. The story has been passed down over the year 2000 and has been distributed all over the world. Oedipus complex and the castration complex become ‘the Imaginary’ and ‘the Symbolic’ and are connected with the desire both dialectical still remains. The subject believes his desire is dependent on the penis. The child believes that the phallic stage is metaphor and symbol of the moment, he knows that it is fictional. and he steps back as a lure because the desire for ‘the Real’ is a metonymy. This paper aims to find the meaning of ‘being swallowed’ in fairy tales. The notion of ‘being swallowed’ is not only found in fairy tales but also in ancient myths. In 1697, two different stories give examples of mother-in-laws being swallowed by animals. In Red Cap written by Perrault; the grandmother and the girl were swallowed by a wolf. Another example is found in the Grimm’s fairy tale, In The Three Little Pigs, Two little pigs were swallowed by the wolf but only one survived. In Hansel and Gretel, Hansel and Gretel eat the gingerbread house, but the witch wants to eat the children. The meaning of ‘being swallowed’ represents the ceremony of adulthood in the characteristic of death and rebirth. When children's readers read a fairy tale, they experience separation from a familiar world, inducing an uncanny feeling. (Hannam University)

This paper aims to find the differences such as its newly added contents, narrative structures, and general characteristics between the various versions of The Three Little Pigs. It also tries to observe the elements of parody in The Three Little Pigs and The Wolf and The Seven Little Kids. Joseph Jacobs collected The Three Little Pigs in English Fairy Tales in 1890. This fairy tale is one of the best known among children worldwide. There are many different versions. For example, there is The True Story of The 3 Little Pigs written by Jon Scieszka; The Three Little Pigs written by Roald Dahl: The Three Little Wolves and The Bad Pig written by Eugene Trivizas: The Wolf and The Seven Little Kids written by the Brothers Grimm; The Three Little Pigs written by Joseph Jacobs, as well as The Three Little Pigs written by Andrew Lang. Jacobs’ work is characterized vulgarism in the mouths of common people and presented as a traditional story. Lang’s one is characterized as a lesson for children. Scieszka’s one is an interesting story written from the perspective of the wolf. Trivizas’ fairy tale provides various interesting themes to readers. Through these we see the differences, the commonalities, the subversion and new possibilities for an interpretation of the traditional English fairy tale. (Hannam University)

A feature is well known as a medium to integrate CAD, CAPP and CAM systems. For a part drawing including both simple geometry and compound geometry, a process plan such as the selection of process, machine tool, cutting tool etc. normally needs simple geometry data and non-geometry data of the feature as the input. However, a extended process plan such as the generation of process sequence, operation sequence, jig & fixture, NC program etc. necessarily needs the compound geometry data as well as the simple geometry data and non-geometry data. In this paper, we propose a feature data model according to the result of analyzing necessary data, including the compound geometry data, the simple geometry data and the non-geometry data. Also, an example of the feature data model in milling process planning is described.
