Hydraulic systems has been used in the field of construction equipments, aircraft and military equipments due to the high power demands. Hydraulic fluid power is directly proportional to the mass flow rate controlled by hydraulic pump. Fixed displacement pump is less effective beca use it supply fixed mass flow rate, irrespective of varying load. but variable displacement pump is more effective in energy saving because it provides the suitable mass flow rate. Load-sensing piston pump, one type of variable displacement pump, consists of pump body for supplying the mass flow rate and load-sensing valve for feedback control of mass flow rate. In this study, the commercial numerical simulation software(AMESim) was applied for analyzing the dynamic characteristics of load-sensing piston pump with varying the size and the position of orifice in load-sensing valve.

In parallel to increasing the application of intelligent, automated and unmanned Construction Equipment, functional safety regulation for Safety Related Parts of Control System(SRP/CS) has been reinforced in Europe, etc. In this paper, we will briefly review the methods of hardware failure rate estimation, which is a basis for functional safety requirements based on ISO 13849, etc. Instead of actual controllers used in the field, a virtual controller with multiple inputs and outputs will be considered here, also a virtual bill of materials(BOM) consisted with passive elements and active elements will be listed. Based on these database, We will estimate failure rate of each components based on SN 29500, and then hardware FMEA will be performed for this virtual controller. By doing this, We will show how to estimate hardware failure rate in accordance with ISO 13849, etc.
