The objective of this study is to predict the reliability and to design the Accelerated Life Testing(ALT) of the electronic component. The MIL-HDBK-217 is adapted to predict the theoretical reliability. Modern electronic components have high reliability so that it is impossible to obtain a reasonable amount of test data in the normal condition. Therefore ALT is used to force components to be failed by testing at much higher stressed than the intended application condition. The design parameters of the ALT including reasonable sample size, practical test time, and accelerating level are presented. Finally the results of reliability from the MIL-HDBK-217 and the ALT were also discussed.

In present study, we fractionated polysaccharides from Croton tiglium and investigated their hepatoprotective effects on CCI₄ intoxication. Polysaccharide fraction of which molecular weight is over 300,000(HP) showed the most potent hepatoprotective effects on CC1₄ intoxication. Lipid peroxidation, BAST and sALT were used as parameters to evaluate the liver damage. Glucose, xylose and arabinose were found to be monosaccharides composing sugar moiety of HP.

Brazilin was tested for its ability to inhibit alloxan induced lipidperoxidation. Lipid peroxide contents in liver, kidney and serum were measured by the TBA method. ICR mice receiving alloxan at a dose of 43mg/kg via the tail vein after a 24 hrs starvation showed significantly increased lipid peroxide contents as compared to untreated control. Lipid peroxide contents in liver, kidney and serum of alloxan-induced diabetic mice were dosedependently decreased by the treatment of brazilin at a dose of 10mg/kg, 50mg/kg, 100 mg/kg for 5 days.

2-[(4-Cyanophenyl)amino]-3-chloro-1, 4-naphthalenedione (NQ-Y15) was asssayed for its genotoxic potential by using Salmonella typhimurium reversion assay and in vitro chromosome aberration test on Chinese hamster lung cells. In the Ames test, NQ-Y 15 induced his+ revertants of Salmonella typhimurium TA 98 and TA1537, reaching levels twice the negative control values. But, NQ-Y15 induced only his^(+) revertants of Salmonella typhimurium TA1537 more than twice the control values under the condition with metabolic activation system. In the cytogenetic test on chinese hamster lung cells, NQ-Y15 showed significant chromosomal aberrations, but the incidence was significantly reduced in the presence of metabolic activation.
