Recently, as the taste of consumers and the demand of products are changed within short period and the life cycle of products is shortened, the operation of semicontinuous and batch processes have been studied more frequently over the past decade. In general, the productivity of batch process is lower than that of continuous process. For these reason most of researches in batch process are focused on increasing the productivity. The study of operation of batch processes used to be classified as two category; multi-product batch process and multi-purpose batch process. Between them, multi-product processes were actively studied, but only a few papers about the multi-purpose batch plants were presented. Because the operation of multi-purpose batch process is more complicated than that of multi-product batch plant. In this paper we presented completion times algorithm of non-sequential multi-purpose batch process[13] with non-zero transportation times and set-up times as a recursive formulation. We also described the formulation by computer program and flowchart and the results of calculation by gantt chart and processing map. For testing the proposed formulation, we applied them to several problems which are composed of randomly generated processing times, set-up times and transfer times.
SV40 전이 포유동물세포에 있어 복제기구의 크기와 자외선 감수성

The molecular weights of pulse labeled DNA at various times after UV-irradiation declined and then recovered. The rate recovery at which their ability to synthesize control size DNA was a function of replicon size; normal human cells with small replicons recovered more rapidly than SV40 transformed cells with large replicons At low numbers of UV-lesions per replicon in normal cells, inhibition of replicon initiation was the predominant response; at higher numbers of lesions per replicons in SV40 transformed cells, blockage of chain growth was the predominant response. These results indicate that replicon size determines, in part, the response of DNA replication to UV damage.

분열형 호모인 Schizosaccbarornyces pombe에서 RecA 유사 단백질은 hydroxyurea (HU)나 methotrexate (MTX)와 같은 nucleotide pool 형성에 관여하는 효소의 저해제에 의해 유도발현된다. 본 연구에서는 대장균의 RecA 단백질과 S. pombe의 ribonucleotide reductase가 구조적으로 유사한지를 RecA 항체를 이용한 면역침전법과 [5-$^3$H]CDP를 기질로하는 thin layerchromatography방법을 통하여 알아보고자 하였다. S. pombe의 rinonucleotide reductase활성은 100mM HU에 의해 대조군에 비해 26.3% 저해되었으며, RecA 항체를 이용한 면역침전에 의해서도 43.3% 저해되었다. 이와 같은 결과는 S. pombe의 rinonucleotide reductase가 대장균의 RecA 단백질과 구조적으로 유사함을 시사하는 것이다. We have previoosly demonstrated that the RecA-like protein of Schizosaccharomyces pombe (S. pombe) is immunologically related to Escherichia coil (E. coil) RecA protein and that the cellular level of the protein is significantly increased by inhibitors of nucleotide pool-forming enzymes such as hydroxyurea (HU) and methotrexate (MTX) (lee and Park, 1994; lee et al., 1994). In this study, we report that the ribonudeotide redudase activity of S. pombe is inhibited by E. coil RecA antibody, as determined by thin layer chromatography using [5-$^3$H]CDP as a substrate. The relative activity of ribonucleotide reductase was dramatically inhibited by 100 mM of flu (26.4% reduction) in in vitro assay, compared to that of non-treated control. The ribonucleotide reductase activity was also inhibited by immunoprecipitation with E. coil RecA antibody (43.3% reduction). These results indicate that the strudure of S. pombe ribonucleotide reductase is in part similar to that of E. coil RecA protein.
Replicon Sizes and UV-Sensitivities in SV40-Transformed Mammalian Cells

자외선조사후 시간간격에 따라 표지한 DNA의 분자량은 감소후 회복됨을 보여 준다. 이같이 정상 크기의 DNA를 합성하는 능력인 회복율은 복제기구의 크기에 따라 다름을 알 수 있다. 즉 작은 크기의 복제기구를 갖는 정상세포에서는 큰 복제기구를 갖는 SV40 전이 세포에 비해 빨리 회복된다. 또 정상 세포에서와 같이 복제기구당 자외선의 상해수가 적을 경우에는 복제 기구에 의한 복제개시가 억제되는 것이 그 주된 영향이며, 복제기구당 상해수가 많은 SV40 전이 세포에서는 DNA사의 생장이 주로 억제된다. 이같은 결과는 복제기구가 자외선 상해에 대한 DNA 복제의 반응을 결정하는 것임을 시사하는 것이다.
