Fine microgroove is the key component to fabricate micro-grating, micro-grating lens and so on. Conventional groove fabrication methods such as etching and lithography have some problems in efficiency and surface integrity. Therefore, mechanical micromachining methods using single crystal diamond tools and ultraprecision machine tools are expected to be very efficient, and widely studied. This study deals with creation of ultra-precision micro V-grooves of nickel plated layer using non-rotational single crystal diamond tool and 3-axis micro stages. Micro V-groove shape and chip formation were investigated for the analysis of machinability of Ni plated layer.

In this study, introduce about processing method of fluid passage channel in fuel processor by powder blasting. A processing meterial of the channel used LCD glass which thermal resistance and corrosion resistance are superior. For the comparison of heat transfer performance of methanol evaporator, numerical analysis using FLUENT code was carried out. Thereafter, processed fluid passage channel for fuel processor of LCD glass by powder blasting. After processing, analyzed about comparison of several channel forming cases channel depth, width and rib width.

In this study, introduce about processing method of microchannel in fuel processor. For the comparison of heat transfer performance of methanol evaporator, numerical analysis using FLUENT code was carried out. Channel shape and condition which could determine the heat transfer performance according to the channel conditions were obtained. For channel forming, besides the conventional etching method, mechanical machining methods of end milling and powder blasting was introduced. It was shown that end mining could reduce machining error remarkably and surface treatment by powder blasting could improve the performance of catalyst coating.
