      • 토착대두 근류균의 균주 (菌株) 인식과 분류를 위한 혈청면역학적 (血淸免疫學的) 검정

        本試驗은 우리나라 土着大豆 根瘤均의 菌株 認識과 分類를 위하여 서울農大 試驗圃場의 13個 大豆品種 根瘤에서 純粹分離한 大豆根瘤菌 27個와 本 實驗實 保有 大豆根瘤菌 6個에 대하여 血淸免疫學的 試驗을 行하였으며 그 結果는 다음과 같이 要約된다. 1. 抗原組成이 相異한 4個의 大豆根瘤菌에 대하여 얻어진 4가지 抗血淸과 위 33個 大豆根瘤菌을 tube 凝集反應, 凝集案 吸着反應 및 gel 免疫續散反應을 實施한 結果 33個 大豆根瘤菌中 25個를 4가지 sero-group과 그에 屬한 各 serotype 으로 區分할 수 있었다. 2. 33個 大豆根瘤菌中 Hill, 密陽品種에서 分離한 2가지 分離菌 및 放射, 長白品種에서 分離한 2가지 分離菌, 그리고 八達, 새알, 長白品種에서 4가지 分離菌이 血淸免疫學的 檢定에 있어서 各各 同一 菌株로 밝혀졌다. 3. 本 實驗結果, 血淸免疫學的 方法에 의하여 우리나라 土着大豆 根瘤菌의 菌株 認識 및 體系的인 分類와 아울러 菌株와 大豆 品種間의 親和性을 밝히는 것이 可能하리라 생각된다.

        Investigating a Role of Strategic Sourcing and Organizaiotnal Culture on Mitigating Risk in Supply Chain

        The main objective of this study is to investigate an impact of organizational cultureon supply chain risk and strategic sourcing. It also examines the relationship betweenorganizational culture and strategic sourcing. By collecting 159 survey responses fromsupply, executives and managers of U.S. manufacturing firms, it provides empiricalevidence that organizational culture and strategic sourcing mitigate supply chain risks. Organizational culture also makes a positive impact on the implementation of strategicsourcing. This study emphasizes the importance of cultural impacts to supply executivesand managers in supply chain risk management.

        Arachnoid Cyst in Oculomotor Cistern

        Oculomotor cistern is normal anatomic structure that is like an arachnoid-lined cerebrospinal fluid-filled sleeve, containing oculomotor nerve. We report a case of arachnoid cyst in oculomotor cistern, manifesting as oculomotor nerve palsy. The oblique sagittal MRI, parallel to the oculomotor nerve, showed well-defined and enlarged subarachnoid spaces along the course of oculomotor nerve. Simple fenestration was done with immediate regression of symptom. When a disease develops in oculomotor cistern, precise evaluation with proper MRI sequence should be performed to rule out tumorous condition and prevent injury of the oculomotor nerve.

        벼 색소체 형질전환을 이용한 글리포세이트 저항성 유전자 cp4-epsps의 발현

        Heteroplasmic rice plastid transformant was generated using suspension cells as bombardment materials. PCR analyses confirmed incorporation of aadA and cp4-epsps genes into the rice plastid genome by homologous recombination events via the flanking sequences of the trnI and trnA. Transplastomic calli were actively proliferated when cultured on AAM2 medium supplemented with various concentrations (500-3000 mg/L) of streptomycin in dark condition, and transplastomic suspension cells showed resistance to nonselective herbicide, glyphosate. Through ‘agarose pie selection’ method, heteroplastomic calli, containing considerably high level of transplastome and expressing the CP4 EPSPS protein, were obtained. They were further regenerated to green shoots with healthy roots.

        Staghorn Stones Combined with Transitional Cell Carcinoma of the Renal Pelvis

        Longstanding, unrecognized staghorn stones remain a major cause of morbidity in the form of pain, infection, and functional impairment of the affected kidney. Squamous cell carcinoma of the upper urinary tract is associated with stone disease and chronic infection, but the association with transitional cell carcinoma (TCC) has not been proven. We report a case of a 73-year-old man presenting with right flank pain with episodes of total gross hematuria for 1 year. An abdominopelvic computed tomography scan showed decreased parenchymal enhancement and staghorn stones in the right renal pelvis and multiple tiny calyceal stones with severe hydronephrosis. The patient underwent a simple nephrectomy. Histopathologic analysis revealed staghorn stones combined with high- grade papillary TCC of the renal pelvis. The tumor was extended into the peripelvic fat and renal parenchyme (pT3NoMo).

        음경골절 환자에서 시행한 조기 수술 치료의 장기 성적

        Purpose: Penile fracture is a rare but serious urological condition. Immediate surgical repair is widely accepted as the treatment of choice in penile fracture. The aim of this study is to investigate the long-term outcome of immediate surgical treatment of penile fracture. Materials and Methods: This is a retrospective study of 12 men with penile fracture who were treated in the Department of Urology, Sanggyepaik Hospital, Seoul, Korea from January 2000 to June 2005. Diagnosis was made clinically and was confirmed by cavernosography in all our patients. All patients underwent immediate surgical repair, within two days after trauma, using a degloving incision. The long term results of the immediate surgical repair were evaluated using questionnaire on outpatient department visiting or telephoning. Results: The median patient age was 43 years (range, 18 to 57 years). The median follow-up was 32 months (range, 14 to 60 months). Of these patients, 8 (66.7%) patients were injured during sexual intercourse, whereas 4 (33.3%) patients were injured during masturbation. All patients were treated by immediate surgery. All patients reported satisfactory, painless erectile function; two developed penile curvature and one had a penile nodule. Conclusions: Immediate surgical repair of penile fracture is effective, restores erectile function, and the incidence of complications is low.       • 엽록체 청색광반응 psbD promoter의 구조 및 발현 연구

        The chloroplast psbD-psbC genes encode D2 and CP43, a reaction center protein and chlorophyll-binding antenna protein of photosystem Ⅱ, respectively. Differential accumulation of light-induced psbD-psbC mRNAs in chloroplasts was due to transcription from a blue light-responsive promoter (psbD LRP). The light-induced mRNAs help to maintain levels of the D2 polypeptide, which is photodamaged and degraded in illuminated plants. The accumulation of light-induced psbD-psbC mRNAs was conserved in various plant species, despite differences in the structure and expression of the psbD-psbC operons. In addition, sequences within 130 base pairs (bp) of the psbD LRP are highly conserved in higher plants. Therefore, physiological and gene regulatory demands of the chloroplast are likely to act as constraints that preserve the linkage of the psbD LRP with psbD. The structure of the psbD LRP was analyzed using deletion and site-directed mutagenesis, in vitro transcription, gel shift assays, and DNAse I footprinting experiments. Deletion analysis showed that a 53-bp DNA region of the psbD LRP, from -57 to -5, was sufficient for transcription in vitro. Mutation of a putative prokaryotic -10 element located from -7 to -12 inhibited transcription from the psbD LRP. In contrast, mutation of a putative prokaryotic -35 element had no influence on transcription. Site-directed mutation of sequences located betwen -35 and -10 had no effect on transcription from the psbD LRP. Transcription from the psbD LRP required a 22-bp sequence, termed the AAG-box, located between -36 and -57. The AAG-box specifically bound the activating complex, termed AGF. Transcription from the psbD LRP is thus similar to type Ⅱ bacterial promoters that use activating proteins to stimulate transcription. Transcription of the psbD LRP was ~6.5-fold greater in plastid extracts from illuminated versus dark-grown plants. This suggests that light-induced activation in vivo involves factors interaction with the 53-pb psbD LRP in vitro.
