The Effects Sodium Bicarbonate Intake on Blood Variables During High Intensity Exercise of Sprinter

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of bicarbonate intake on blood variables during high-intensity training of sprinters. 30 male/female elites with more than 3 years of experience that are registered to S city as a sprinter was categorized into three groups: control group, training group, and HCO<sub>3</sub><sup>-</sup> and training group. Training group and HCO<sub>3</sub><sup>-</sup> and training group went through a high-intensity exercise program (80-90% HR max) which escalated every 2-3 weeks, for 90 minutes at a time, 5 days a week, 8 weeks in total. HCO<sub>3</sub><sup>-</sup> and Training group took in 300mg of bicarbonate per one kilogram of body weight, in 90 minutes before the start of the high-intensity exercise program, once a day for 8 weeks. As a result of the study, the effect of bicarbonate intake on blood variables during high-intensity training of sprinters showed a positive effect on the increase of pH and the decrease of lactic acid in HCO<sub>3</sub><sup>-</sup> and training group. Also, the increase of Ca<sup>2+</sup>, Na<sup>+</sup>, K<sup>+</sup> was shown in training group and HCO<sub>3</sub><sup>-</sup> and training group, whereas there were no indications of significant change in Mg<sup>2+</sup> in all three groups. It can be confirmed that the intake of bicarbonate during high-intensity training shows effective changes in the increase of pH and the decrease in lactic acid among changes in blood variables. Therefore, it can be seen that the intake of bicarbonate during high-intensity exercise is effective in improving exercise capacity. 본 연구는 단거리 달리기선수의 고강도 훈련 시 중탄산염 섭취가 혈액변인에 미치는 영향 규명하는데 연구의 목적이 있다. S시 남·여 단거리달리기 선수로 등록된 운동경력 3년 이상의 엘리트 선수 30명을 대상으로 통제집단, 훈련집단, 중탄산염 투여와 훈련집단의 세 집단으로 설정 후, 고강도 운동프로그램은 통제집단과 중탄산염 투여와 훈련집단을 대상으로 80-90%HRmax 운동강도를 2-3주마다 증가시키며, 총 8주간, 주 5일, 1회 90분 실시하였다. 중탄산염 섭취는 중탄산염 투여와 훈련집단을 대상으로 체중 1kg당 300mg을 고강도 운동프로그램 시작 90분 전 1일 1회 8주간 섭취하였다. 연구결과, 단거리달리기 선수의 고강도 훈련 시 중탄산염의 섭취가 혈액변인에 미치는 효과는 중탄산염 투여와 훈련집단에서 수소이온농도의 상승과 젖산의 감소에 긍정적인 효과가 나타났으며, Ca<sup>2+</sup>, Na<sup>+</sup>, K<sup>+</sup>은 훈련집단과 중탄산염 투여와 훈련집단에서 유의한 증가가 나타났다. Mg<sup>2+</sup>은 세 집단 모두에서 유의한 변화를 나타내지 않았다. 고강도 훈련 시 중탄산염의 섭취가 혈액변인의 변화 중 수소이온농도의 증가와 젖산의 감소에 효과적인 변화가 나타나는 것을 확인 할 수 있다. 따라서 고강도 운동 시 중탄산염의 섭취가 운동능력의 개선에 효과적임을 알 수 있다.

Free-Flooded Ring (FFR) transducer array for use in Sonar system can be driven with large amplitude in a wide frequency band due to its structural characteristics, in which two resonances of a ring mode (1st radial mode) and an inner cavity vibration mode occur in a low frequency band. Since its sound wave generation characteristics are not influenced by the water pressure, the FFR transducer array is widely used in the deep sea. So FFR has been recognized as a low-frequency active sound source and has received much attention ever since. In order to utilize the FFR transducer array for SONAR systems in military and industrial applications, its equivalent electric circuit model is necessary especially to design the matching circuit between the driving power amplifier and the FFR transducer array. Thus this paper proposes the equivalent electric circuit model of FFR transducer array by using measured values of parameter, and suggest the improved method of parameter identification. Finally it verifies the effectiveness of the proposed circuit model of FFR transducer array by experimental measurements.

Bidirectional DC-DC converters allow transfer of power between two de sources, in either direction. Due to their ability to reverse the direction of flow of power, they are being increasingly used in many applications such as battery charger/dischargers, de uninterruptible power supplies, electrical vehicle motor drives, aerospace power systems, telecom power supplies, etc. This paper proposes a new bidirectional Sepic/Zeta converter. It has low switching loss and low conduction loss due to auxiliary communicated circuit and synchronous rectifier operation, respectively. Because of positive and buck/boost-like DC voltage transfer function(M=D/1-D), the proposed converter is very desirable for use in distributed power system. The proposed converter also has both transformer-less version and transformer one.

We report on advanced β-titanium alloys having excellent biocompatibility without containing V or Al that has been known as a toxic element for human body, and on a low elastic modulus to be used in the fields of artificial joint and dental implant in the replacement of natural human bone. Ternary Ti-Nb-Si alloys consisting of biocompatible alloying elements have been produced to investigate the alloying effect on microstructure, elastic modulus and mechanical properties. On the basis of experimental results obtained, it is suggested that Si has an effective role to suppress the formation of ω-phase leading to reduction in elastic modulus.

In the early phase of vehicle development, CAE is conducted as tool for vehicle performance assessment. To maintain acceptable road noise performance, solution for reduced vehicle sensitivity is required. Chassis interface dynamic stiffness characteristics are key component to isolating vibration and noise of road from the vehicle interior. This research provide how to set up the optimized dynamic characteristics under noise effect through DFSS study. CAE-based DOE is performed to build prediction math model, CMS process involves DOE to achieve very fast run times while giving results very comparable. Minimized 95th percentile of performance distribution is applied to minimize vehicle sensitivity and road noise levels variation during the optimization process. Finally, the results of optimization were reviewed for performance and robustness.

In present study, it aims to investigate the vibration characteristics of high strength steel for automobile structural applications, under resonance frequency. The specific damping capacity(SDC) was obtained from logarithmic decayed curve expressed as an index of damping property and the 1st resonance frequency was measure from free-free mode. The elastic modulus could obtain indirectly from measurement of resonance frequency and there is a linear relationship between 1st resonance frequency and elastic modulus. The SDC of steel that has a mixed microstructure of ferrite and bainite is higher than that of ferrite+martensite and ferrite+pearlite structure.
