Granular cell tumors were originally described in 1926 by Abrikossoff as myoblastic myomas. They usually occur as solitary tumors but can be multiple in about 10% of cases. They have a predilection for the head, neck and tongue, but also occur in many other organs. Authors experienced a 37 year-old male patient with a granular cell tumor which exhibited the distinctive histopathologic appearance on light microscopy and electromicroscopy. Also, granular cells were S-100 protein, vimentin and CD68 immunoreactive, but desmin and GFAP showed negative immunostaining. This finding suggests a neural origin for grenular cell tumors. The frequency of metastasis to the skin from lung cancer is 1-12%. The incidence of cutaneous metastasis was high in patients with large-cell lung cancer, whereas squamous cell and small-cell lung cancer showed the least tendency to extend to cutaneous sites. Adenocarcinoma was intermediate in the tendency to metastasize in the skin. Histological findings of small-cell lung cancer show solid, tumor cell nests composed of neoplastic cells with large, round nuclei. So, it is often difficult to distinguish small-cell lung cancer from other poorly differentiated small-cell tumors, such as Merkel cell carcinoma, metastatic carcinoid, lymphoma, etc. We report here two cases of skin metastasis from small-cell lung cancer. Case one was a 74-year-old man presenting with a single, round, dome-shaped nodule on the alar nasi which had been present for 1 month. The second case was a 73-year-old man who had found three, non-tender, freely movable subcutaneous nodules on the abdomen 3 days before. Both cases were diagnosed as small-cell lung cancer. On histopathological examination of the skin lesions, we could observe that small round to oval cells with dark staining nuclei and scant cytoplasms were arranged in anastomosing trabecular streams through the dermis, separated by strands of connective tissue in both cases. In the first case, the tumor cells were positive to cytokeratin and NSE, negative to neurofilament antiagen and LCA. (Korean J Dermatol 1998;36(2): 308-312)

연구논문 : 컨벤션 방문객에 대한 지역주민의 인식이 컨벤션 도시정체성 및 브랜드 개발에 미치는 영향

본 연구의 목적은 컨벤션 목적지에 거주하는 지역 주민들이 컨벤션 참가자들에 대해 어떠한 특성을 지각했을 때, 개인적 유대감이 형성되며, 그 유대감은 컨벤션 도시로서의 정체성과 도시 브랜드 시민행동에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 고찰하고자 하였다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위하여 기존 문헌연구를 통해 개념적 구조 모델을 설계하였으며, 실증적으로 검정하였다. 실증조사를 위하여 ‘MICE도시 부산’이라는 브랜드를 내걸고 컨벤션 산업 육성전략을 펴고 있는 부산의 지역주민을 대상으로 설문조사가 이루어졌다. 지역주민은 컨벤션 행사에 참여해 본 경험이 있는 지역주민을 대상으로 조사하였으며, 381명에게 조사된 수집 자료를 토대로 통계 분석을 시행하였다. 통계 프로그램은 SPSS 18.0 및 AMOS 18.0 프로그램을 이용하여 분석하였고, 구조방정식모형분석을 통하여 개념 간 인과관계가 검증되었다. 분석결과는 다음과 같이 요약될 수 있다. 첫째, 지역주민의 관점에서 바라본 컨벤션 방문객에 대한 인식 중 컨벤션에 전문성을 갖춘 방문객, 좋은 감정을 표출하는 방문객 및 타 참가자에 대한 시민행동을 행하는 방문객은 지역주민으로 하여금 연계의식을 향상시키는 요인이 되었다. 둘째, 이러한 지역주민의 컨벤션 방문객에 대한 개인적 연대감은 자신이 거주하는 도시가 컨벤션 도시로서 정체성 지니고 있음을 지각하게 만들었으며, 결국 브랜드 시민행동에 적극적으로 참여하고자하는 구조 관계가 성립됨을 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 학문적 시사점과 유용한 실무적 시사점을 제시하였다. This study``s purposes were to (1) examine critical convention visitors`` attributes in improving residents`` personal connection with convention visitors, (2) verify the relationships among personal connection, city identity and brand citizenship behavior. Based on the existing literature, the conceptual proposed model was designed. In order to experimentally test, 420 questionnaires were distributed to residents who had participated in conventions or exhibitions in Busan, Korea. The data collected from 381 residents was analyzed utilizing structural equation modeling(SEM). The findings of this study indicate that (1) three sub-dimensions of convention visitor attributes (expertise, displayed emotion, helping behavior) influenced positively on personal connection, (2) residents`` personal connection had positive effect on both city identity and brand citizenship behavior and (3) the impact of city identity on brand citizenship behavior was positively significant. The theoretical and useful managerial implications were provided based on the results of this study.

Heat stress disorders or heat-related illnesses are a kind of physiological damage that occurs when the body cannot dissipate enough heat due to its thermoregulatory dysfunction. This paper aims to summarize the latest information on the diagnosis and treatment of heat-related illnesses. Heat stress disorders come in a variety of forms including heat edema, heat rash, heat cramps, heat syncope, heat tetany, severe heat exhaustion, and life-threatening heatstroke. Major risk factors may include excessive exercise, continuous exposure to high temperatures or humid environments, lack of acclimation, excessive clothing or protective equipment, obesity, and dehydration. Additional risk factors may include the patientʼs existing medical condition, environmental and personal factors, and the use of various drugs. Mild heat-related illnesses can be treated only by supportive care such as moving patients to a cool place and laying them in a supine position while elevating their legs and loosening their clothes. However, in the case of heatstroke, quickly lowering the body temperature is an essential in reducing the mortality rate. The most effective cooling method is to immerse the entire body in ice cold water.

지역주민이 지각한 축제 체험 가치가 차별성 지각, 동일시 및 시민행동에 미치는 영향

본 연구의 목적은 지역 축제에 참여경험이 있는 지역주민의 관점에서 지역 축제에 대한 차별성을 고취시킬 수 있는 축제의 체험가치를 발견하고, 지역축제에 대한 차별성 지각이 지역 축제에 대한 동일시 및 타 방문객 시민행동에 미치는 효과를 분석하고자 하였다. 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해 선행된 관련 연구와 이론들을 토대로 연구모형을 제안하였으며, 실증조사를 통하여 모형을 검정하였다. 자료의 수집은 부산 지역의 주민을 대상으로 부산 불꽃축제에 참여해본 경험을 토대로 설문조사를 진행하였다. 총 344명의 지역축제 참여 주민의 응답이 통계 분석에 사용되었다. 자료 분석은 SPSS 18.0과 AMOS 18.0을 사용하였으며 구조방정식모형분석을 이용하여 연구모형의 가설을 검정하였다. 연구모형의 분석결과 축제의 체험 가치 네 가지 요인들(심미성, 즐거움, 소비자 이익성 및 서비스 우수성) 중 지역주민은 소비자 이익성을 제외한 심미성, 즐거움 및 서비스 우수성을 통해 축제의 차별성을 지각하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 축제에 대한 차별성은 축제와의 동일시를 증가시키고 타 방문객에 대한 시민행동을 증가시키는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로, 축제에 대한 동일시를 느낀 지역주민은 타 방문객에 대한 시민행동을 보다 적극적으로 하는 것으로 나타났다. 연구의 실증 결과를 바탕으로 지역 축제를 활성화 시킬 수 있도록 하는 지역주민의 참여 방안을 마련하였으며, 학문적으로도 활용할 수 있는 유용한 시사점을 제시하였다. The study aimed to identify residents’ experiential values enhancing festival’s distinctiveness perception and examine the relationships among festival’s distinctiveness, identification and citizenship behavior to other visitors. To accomplish the purposes of this study, conceptual model was proposed based on the previous researches. Seven hypotheses were derived and empirical survey was conducted in Busan, Korea. The data gathered from 344 residents who had participated in Busan Firewoks Festival were analyzed. Using statistical programs, SPSS 18.0 and AMOS 18.0, seven hypotheses were tested. The findings from the data analysis showed that among four sub-dimensions of residents’ experiential value, aesthetics, playfulness, customer ROI and service excellence, three factors have positive effects on festival distinctiveness. In addition festival distinctiveness influenced identification and citizenship behavior to other visitors significantly. These results of the research provided theoretical implications and practical implications.
