        Non-glasses Stereoscopic 3D Floating Hologram System using Polarization Technique

        The image projected onto the screen of the floating hologram is no more than a two-dimensional image. Although it creates an illusion that an object appears to float in space as it moves around while showing its different parts. This paper has proposed a novel method of floating 3D hologram display to view stereoscopic three-dimensional images without putting on glasses. The system is comprised of a sharkstooth scrim screen, projector, polarizing filter for the projector, and a polarizing film to block the image projected from the sham screen. As part of the polarization characteristics, the background image and the front object have completely been separated from each other with the stereoscopic 3D effect successfully implemented by the binocular disparity caused by the distance between the two screens.

        보험회사의 금융소비자보호체계 평가

        글로벌 금융위기 이후 금융소비자 보호를 중요시하는 세계적인 추세에 부응하여 우리나라에서는 금융감독원 주도 아래 금융소비자보호와 관련된 논의가 계속되고 있으며 금융소비자보호 시스템을 구축해 나가고 있다. 금융감독원은 2006년 금융회사의 소비자보호 역량제고를 위해 금융소비자보호 모범규준을 제정하였고, 2015년 금융소비자보호 실태평가 제도를 도입하여 금융회사를 대상으로 금융소비자보호 실태평가를 실시하고 있다. 금융감독원이 제정한 금융소비자보호 모범규준은 금융소비자가 안심하고 금융생활을 영위할 수 있도록 보험회사가 적극적으로 소비자보호의 역할을 할 것을 요구하고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 보험회사의 소비자보호가 금융소비자의 눈높이에 맞게 이루어지고 있는지 금융소비자 보호체계의 소비자 지향성을 진단해 보고자 한다. 특히 가장 민원이 많이 발생하는 보험분야 금융소비자 보호체계를 평가해 봄으로써 보험회사가 자율적으로 취약점을 개선하고 소비자보호를 강화할 수 있도록 하는데 본 연구의 목적이 있다. 이는 금융소비자의 권익증진과 효과적인 소비자피해 예방 및 신속한 구제를 가능하게 하는 효율적이고 실질적인 금융소비자보호 체계를 갖추게 되는 것이며, 이를 통해 보험회사들이 금융소비자의 신뢰를 얻을 뿐만 아니라 경쟁력 향상에도 기여할 수 있을 것으로 보인다. 이를 위해 수입보험료 기준 각각 상위 10개 생명보험사와 손해보험사, 총 20개 보험회사의 홈페이지에 있는 소비자정보포털을 통해 금융소비자보호 모범규준에 따라 ①금융소비자보호 조직 ② 금융상품 개발ㆍ판매과정 소비자보호체계 ③ 금융상품 판매 이후 과정 소비자보호체계 ④ 금융소비자 정보 제공 등의 내용이 금융소비자보호 관점에서 실제 잘 운영되고 있는지평가, 분석하고 향후 금융소비자보호 체계의 소비자 지향성을 확립할 수 있는 시사점을 제시하고자 한다. In response to the trend of financial consumer protection after the global financial crisis, the financial supervisory service continues to discuss financial consumer protection and builds a financial consumer protection system. In 2006, the financial supervisory service established the financial consumer protection best practice for enhancing the consumer protection capabilities of financial companies. In 2015, the financial consumer protection evaluation system was introduced to evaluate the financial consumer protection status of financial companies. The financial supervisory service's best practice for financial consumer protection require insurance companies to actively engage in consumer protection so that financial consumers can safely conduct their financial lives. In this study, we try to evaluate the consumer orientation of the financial consumer protection system whether the consumer protection of the insurance company conforms to the level of financial consumers. Especially, the purpose of this study is to evaluate the financial consumer protection system in the insurance where the most complaints are generated, so that the insurance company can improve the vulnerability and strengthen the consumer protection. This will provide an efficient and practical financial consumer protection system that enables the promotion of the rights of financial consumers, prevention of effective consumer damage, and remedy. In this way, insurance companies will be able to contribute not only to the trust of financial consumers but also to their competitiveness. In order to achieve this, the top ten life insurers and non-life insurers based on premiums, according to the best practices of financial consumer protection through the consumer information portal on the homepages of 20 insurance companies, ① financial consumer protection organization ② financial product development and sales process consumer protection system ③ post-sales process consumer protection system ④ financial consumer disclosure evaluate and analyze whether it is operating well in terms of financial consumer protection. In addition, I suggest some implications for establishing the consumer orientation of the financial consumer protection system.

        Backgrounds: Ingredients of cosmetic products (CPs) are able to pass in variable amount across the skin and mucosa. In particular, facial makeup products contain variety of probably hazard compounds such as colorant dyes, heavy metals, preservatives etc. To investigate the exposure data of 10 widely used facial makeup products, realistic exposure assessment study was undertaken. Subjects and method: 358 women and 79 men, aged 15-59 years, who use the facial makeup CPs of interest regularly, were recruited nationwide within 5 metropolitan cities in Korea. Essential information about the amounts of product applied and the frequency of use over a two week period. 10 facial make up CPs including liquid foundation(BB cream), lipstick, eyeliner, eyeshadow, etc.Men were investigated for lip gloss, lip balm, and liquid foundation. The subjects recorded detailed daily usage information over the 2 weeks period. Products were weighed before and after the study period to determine the total amount of product used. Result: 20’s aged women used more lip gloss, lip balm, and eyeliner. 30’s aged women used more eyeshadow. 40-50’s aged women used more amounts of lipstick. The daily use amount of liquid foundation (0.161g), lipstick (0.010g), eye shadow (0.007g) was lower than that of European and American previous studies. The daily useamount of eyeliner (0.006g) was higher than that of European report. Men used similar amount of BB creamand less amount of lip gloss and lip balm comparing with women. Conclusion: We provide provisional database containing exposure information of facial makeup CPs. It can be a fundamental cornerstone for makeup CPs safety assessment.

        Case Reports : Concurrent Drug-Induced Linear Immunoglobulin A Dermatosis and Immunoglobulin A Nephropathy

        Diseases associated with immunoglobulin A (IgA) antibody include linear IgA dermatosis, IgA nephropathy, Celiac disease, Henoch-Schonlein purpura, etc. Although usually idiopathic, IgA antibody is occasionally induced by drugs (e.g., vancomycin, carbamazepine, ceftriaxone, and cyclosporine), malignancies, infections, and other causes. So far, only a few cases of IgA bullous dermatosis coexisting with IgA nephropathy have been reported. A 64-year-old female receiving intravenous ceftriaxone and metronidazole for liver abscess had purpuric macules and papules on her extremities. One week later, she had generalized edema and skin rash with bullae and was diagnosed with concurrent linear IgA dermatosis and IgA nephropathy. After steroid treatment, the skin lesion subsided within two weeks, and kidney function slowly returned to normal. As both diseases occurred after a common possible cause, we predict their pathogeneses are associated. (Ann Dermatol 27(3) 315∼318, 2015)

        국내외 보험민원 처리체계 비교 연구

        보험은 무형의 재화 또는 서비스를 제공하며 기간의 경과에 따라 계약의 소멸성을 가지고 있으며, 가해자와 피해자 간의 책임관계발생 등 다른 산업과 구분되는 특성이 있어 이에 따라 고유한 형태의 민원이 발생하고 있고 민원은 계속 증대하고 있다. 보험산업 특성을 반영하여 보험민원의 분석 및 선진화된 민원처리 프로세스 마련을 통해 보험소비자의 신뢰를 제고할 필요가 있다. 이에 우리나라의 보험민원 처리체계와 해외 보험민원 처리체계를 비교해 보고 이를 통해 보험민원 처리체계 개선방안을 제시하는데 본 연구의 목적이 있다. 이는 금융소비자의 권익증진과 효과적인 소비자피해 예방 및 신속한 구제를 가능하게 하는 효율적이고 실질적인 금융소비자보호 체계를 갖추게 되는 것이며, 이를 통해 보험회사들이 금융소비자의 신뢰를 얻을 뿐만 아니라 경쟁력 향상에도 기여할 수 있을 것으로 보인다. Insurance has characteristics that distinguish it from other industries, such as providing intangible products and services, extinguishing contracts and creating liability relationships. There are many insurance complaints in finance, and insurance complaints continue to increase. It is necessary to increase the trust of insurance consumers by analyzing insurance complaints and improving advanced complaint processes. The purpose of this study is to compare the insurance complaint system in Korea with the overseas insurance complaint system, and to propose an improvement in the insurance complaint system. An efficient financial consumer protection system will be established that promotes the rights and interests of financial consumers and prevents effective consumer damage. Insurance companies increase the trust of financial consumers and improve their competitiveness.

      • Clinical trial for evaluation of the efficacy and safety of monochromatic red and polychromatic white LED devices for wrinkles

        Background: Low level laser therapy(LLLT) using light emitting diode(LED) is a non-thermal and non-invasivetreatment which stimulates cell activities and functions through a photobiomodulative effect. Objectives: We performed a prospective, randomized, double-blinded, comparative trial to evaluate the efficacy and safety of two LLLT devices using monochromatic 660 nm emitted red or polychromatic 411-777 nm emitted white LED on the facial wrinkles. Methods: A total of 52 adult female subjects with more than grade 3 of lateral periocular wrinkle were randomly divided into two groups, red LED and white LED group.The face of subjects was eradiated with 5 J of red LED or white LED for 12 weeks. Results: In both groups of red LED and white LED, the wrinkle measurement from skin replica on the bilateral periorbital area improved significantly from baseline at week 12. Red LED group showed slightly better improvement, but there were no statistical differences. In investigator``s assessment, the wrinkle grade showed nostatistical differences within groups as well as between groups. In subject’s global assessment, the mean improvement score of red LED group was significantly higher than that of the white LED group. Total 12 cases of adverse reactions were reported during the study period, but most of them were mild and self-limited. There were no statistical differences between two groups. Conclusion: Monochromatic 660 nm red LED could be an effective and tolerable treatment option for wrinkles.

        양측성 돌발성 난청이 병발한 쯔쯔가무시병

        Scrub typhus is an acute febrile illness caused by Orientia tsutsugamushi. The main symptoms of scrub typhus are fever, eschar, generalized rash, and swelling of the lymph nodes. Complications include pneumonia, myocarditis, meningitis, hepatitis, acute renal failure, and hearing loss. We report a rare case of Tsutsugamushi disease with acute bilateral hearing loss in a 65-year-old woman. The antibodies against O. tsutsugamushi were detected which led to the diagnosis of scrub typhus. She was treated immediately with oral doxycycline for 9 days and had a rapid and complete recovery. Scrub typhus can be associated with hearing loss, which is present in approximately one-third of the cases, but it is rare in Korea, therefore it is easy to misdiagnose scrub typhus as any other otological abnormalities. When patients present with fever, rash, and sensorineural hearing loss, clinicians should suspect scrub typhus and consider empirical antibiotic therapy.
