This paper examines the surveillance system described in Margaret Atwood’s The Heart Goes Last. Atwood portrays a near-future society confronting an economic crisis and an experimental city, Consilience. This paper notes that the surveillance systems found in Consilience have post-panoptic characteristics beyond the classical panopticon. Attempting to analyze Atwood’s panoptical society, this paper focuses on Zygmunt Bauman’s theory. Bauman explains that as modern society has liquidity, the surveillance paradigm has also penetrated society with a different tendency from previous societies. With the development of technology, the intention of the surveillance system is regarded as a social contract. Also, this paper argues that the post-truth phenomenon is a catalyst for strengthening the panopticon in modern society. In the process of repeated deception, the protagonists, who are economically and socially marginalized, easily fall into cognitive bias. It denotes that their vulnerability rationalizes to be monitored. Atwood evokes the difficulty of not being misled by the tendency to post-truth during the dynamic of inclusion and exclusion, which is the basis of a surveillance society.

Suppression of inflammatory responses in macrophages by onionderived extracellular vesicles

Chronic inflammation is closely associated with several serious diseases that affect millions of individuals. Although researchers have focused on drug discovery toward regulating inflammation, developingnovel biomaterials with high efficacy, productivity, and low cytotoxicity remains an essential priority. In this context, extracellular vesicles (EVs) were directly isolated from onions and investigated for theiranti-inflammatory activity in RAW 264.7 macrophages. As EVs are nano-sized vesicles containing bioactivecomponents enclosed by a lipid bilayer, onion-derived EVs (Onex) most likely would contain onionderivedanti-inflammatory components for delivery to macrophages. A high concentration of Onex wasisolated by size-exclusion chromatography combined with ultrafiltration. No significant cytotoxicitywas observed, even at a high Onex concentration. Moreover, Onex showed a dose-dependent suppressionof secretion and expression of pro-inflammatory factors, including interleukin 6, interleukin 1b, cyclooxygenase2, and inducible nitric oxide synthase in RAW 264.7 cells after lipopolysaccharide treatment. Western blot analysis showed that Onex modulates the phosphorylation of NF-jB, a transcription factorthat regulates the expression of other pro-inflammatory factors. Interestingly, it was determined thatOnex contains components other than quercetin derivatives, which are well-known anti-inflammatoryconstituents of onion extract that significantly suppressed LPS-induced inflammation in RAW 264.7macrophages. Considering its low cytotoxicity and robust anti-inflammatory activity, Onex is a potentiallypromising biomaterial for treating diseases accompanying severe inflammation.

인천형 정책대상집단 형성을 위한 탐색적 연구: 인천시장 연설문을 중심으로

(Purpose) In the race for presidential and municipality elections, voters understand the policy framework and orientations through campaign speeches and communication activities of the candidates. This study attempted to specify the policy direction and will of the head of the local government to move forward through a speech that clearly reveals the philosophy of the mayor of Incheon Metropolitan City and Facebook. (Design/methodology/approach) Based on Social construction theory, Incheon-type policy target groups will be proposed to investigate the relationship between the Mayor's interests and the beneficiaries of policy target groups. Research data are speeches and posts in Facebook during the first half of 7th term of office in Incheon Metropolitan Government. Text mining methodology applies to Incheon Mayor Park Namchoon's speech and posts in Facebook for extracting top 100 keywords. (Findings) As a result of mapping the keywords extracted by Mayor Park Namchoon's speech and Facebook to the beneficiaries of the Incheon-type policy target group, it was confirmed that the results were hierarchical descending order by advantaged-contenders-dependents-deviants group. (Research implications or Originality) This can be analyzed that the Mayor is interested in the advantaged group with a positive social composition and strong power. Thus, the policy might be formulated or implemented for giving more benefits for the advantaged group.

보육교사의 직무환경과 직무스트레스가 소진에 미치는 영향: 회복탄력성의 매개효과

Objectives The purpose of this study is to examine ow the job environment, job stress, and resilience level of childcare teachers affect the burnout of childcare teachers in direct or indirect routes. Methods To this end, data were collected by 227 childcare teachers working at daycare centers located across the country and a survey. SPSS 22.0 program were used to find out the relationship among the variables. The correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis and verification of mediating effect were used. Results The burnout of childcare teachers showed a significant negative correlation with job environment, resilience, and a significant positive correlation with job stress. Job stress had a effect on burnout. The job environment and job stress of childcare teachers had a indirect effect on burnout through resilience. Conclusions It was found that as childcare teachers positively perceived the job environment and received less job stress, resilience increased and burnout decreased. The results of this study can be utilized as a theoretical basis for teacher education, confirming the significance of multifaceted approaches to prevent burnout and promote resilience among childcare teachers.

조선 전기 수전(水戰)의 문화적 의미 변화와 수전희(水戰戲) 소재 한시 양상 연구-한양의 수군 훈련 행사를 중심으로

This manuscript tries to understand Sujeon(水戰)‘s implementation methods and changes and do aspects of Hanyang culture in the early Joseon Dynasty by analyzing poems created with it based on this. Sujeon was implemented against invasion by Japanese raiders as one of military disciplines supervised by kings. Because the kings could not visit posts of the naval forces, they trained them by waiting for the periods that vessels (漕船) are at the berths of the Han River and according to these characteristics, Sujeon was usually implemented in summer. Initial Sujeon was implemented in the manner of making and defeating imaginary enemies. However, after Sejo of Joseon, it was changed to the way of simulated combats. Sujeon’s playfulness was higher than other military disciplines’ in that it is held in the Han River, and the fate of battles is decided through simulated combats according to its implementation method’s characteristics. And after the reign of Seongjong of Joseon, the kings made civil and military officials who escorted royal carriages write compositions by holding a banquet after finishing Sujeon and awarded prizes by grading them. It can be found that Sujeon’s playful characteristics are more gradually strengthened than the military disciplines since the reign of Seongjeong of Joseon. The manuscript tried to collect and analyze various records of Sujeonje and poems created with it by taking note of its characteristics and clarify aspects of Seoul’s play cultures in the early Joseon Dynasty based on this. For works created with Sujeon in common, poems created at that time generally describe simulated battles taken in Sujeon and consist of contents to praise the reigns of the kings who then seized power. It’s because guards and lieges created with the titles of poems presented by the kings. Considering the point that these works were created in the banquets held after finishing Sujeon, the kings and guards and lieges can be found to recognize it as a thing to watch, that is, playfulness. And for Hanyang residents in the early Joseon Dynasty, watching national events was entertainment. And Sujeon was one of national events whiche were periodically held. Therefore, the value of the poems created with Sujeon can be found in that aspects of play cultures of the Hanyang residents including the kings and bureaucrat writers can be understood. 본고에서는 조선 전기 한양에서 시행된 수군의 군사 훈련인 수전(水戰)의 시행 방식과 변천 과정을 파악하고, 이를 바탕으로 수전을 소재로 창작된 시를 분석하여 조선 전기 한양 문화의 단면을 파악하고자 한다. 수전은 국왕이 주관하는 군사 훈련의 하나로, 왜구 침입에 대비하여 시행되었다. 국왕이 수군 주둔지로 행차할 수 없었기 때문에 조선(漕船)이 한강에 정박하는 시기를 기다려 수군을 훈련하였으며, 이러한 특성상 수전은 주로 여름에 시행되었다. 초기의 수전은 가상의 적을 만들고 이를 격파하는 방식으로 시행되었으나, 세조 이후에 모의 전투하는 방식으로 바뀌었다. 수전은 한강에서 열린다는 점, 그리고 시행 방식의 특성상 모의 전투를 통해 승패를 나눈다는 점에서 다른 군사 훈련보다 유희성이 높았다. 이는 조선시대 관람 문화에서의 유희성으로, 관람자 입장에서 수전은 모의 전투를 하여 승패를 가른다는 점에서 다른 군사 훈련보다 구경거리가 많았을 것이다. 성종 대 이후부터 수전을 마친 뒤 왕은 연회를 열어 어가를 수행한 문‧무신들에게 글을 짓게 하고, 그 글에 등수를 매겨 포상하기도 하였다. 이를 통해 성종 대부터 수전은 군사 훈련보다 유희적 성격이 점차 강화되었음을 알 수 있다. 본고에서는 이러한 수전의 특성에 주목하여 수전에 대한 다양한 기록과 수전을 소재로 창작된 시를 수집‧분석하고, 이를 바탕으로 조선 전기 한양의 놀이문화의 단면을 밝히고자 하였다. 수전을 소재로 창작된 한시의 경우, 대체로 군사 훈련으로 시행했던 모의 전투를 묘사하고, 당시 집권했던 왕의 치세를 찬양하는 내용으로 구성되어 있다. 이는 호종신들이 수전을 관람한 뒤에 어명으로 제시된 시제에 맞춰 창작되었기 때문이다. 이들 작품이 수전이 끝난 뒤에 열린 연회에서 창작되었다는 점을 고려하면, 수전이 임금과 호종신들에게는 하나의 놀이로 인식되었음을 파악할 수 있다. 또한 조선 전기의 한양 거주민들에게는 국가적 행사를 관람하는 것이 유흥거리였으며, 수전은 주기적으로 시행된 국가적 행사 중 하나였다. 따라서 수전을 소재로 창작된 시는, 당시 국왕과 관료 문인들을 비롯하여 한양 거주민들의 놀의 문화의 단면을 파악할 수 있다는 점에서 그 가치를 찾을 수 있다.

극초소형위성 STEP Cube Lab. 비행모델의 열진공시험

극초소형 위성으로 분류되는 큐브위성 STEP Cube Lab.(Cube Laboratory for Space Technology Experimental Project)은 우주기반의 핵심기술들을 궤도상에서 검증하는 것을 주 임무로 2015년 발사를 위해 최종 비행 모델의 개발을 완료하였다. 본 위성은 극한 우주 열환경에서의 생존은 물론, 상기 임무 구현을 위해 수동형 열제어 방식을 기초로 최적화된 열설계가 수행되었으며, 비행 모델에 대한 수락수준의 열진공시험을 통해 위성 성능 및 열제어 설계의 타당성을 검증하였다. 본 논문에서는 수락수준의 열진공시험을 모사한 사전 열해석을 통한 열진공시험 준비 과정과 열진공시험 과정 및 결과 그리고 열평형시험으로부터 획득한 온도 데이터로부터 위성 열-수치 모델의 신뢰도 향상을 위한 보정 작업에 대해 서술하였다. The STEP Cube Lab. classified as a pico-class satellite has been successfully developed as a flight model(FM) to be launched in 2015. Its mission objective is to perform the on-orbit verification of fundamental space core-technologies. In this study, a thermal design concept based on the passive method to achieve the mission objective is introduced. The effectiveness do the thermal design and performance of the satellite has been verified through the acceptance level thermal vacuum test. In addition, to improve the reliability of thermal mathematical model, correlation was performed using the results of thermal balance test. This paper describes a series of precess of the thermal vacuum test on the STEP Cube Lab. FM.
