한국 국제입양인의 영성 의미에 관한 내러티브연구 = A Study on the Spirituality of intercountry Korean Adoptees

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was understand “How do intercountry Korean adoptees feel their experience and meaning of Spirituality”. This researcher chose qualitative research, especially narrative research method. Participants of this study were four adoptees who had experience of spirituality activities and have built up identity and gone through adolescence. The author visited USA and performed in-depth interviews for 1 year (2011.9- 2012.8). Data collection and analysis were conducted by narrative analysis process with depth interview, field books, feedbacks of hands-on workers and activities in related organization. The results showed that adoptees felt about their experience and meaning of Spirituality. The narratives were analyzed qualitatively by Concepts of spirituality(Oh & Kang, 2000). The concepts of spirituality were ‘Harmonious Interconnectedness(the Supreme Being, self, interpersonal/nature)’, ‘Transcendence’, ‘Integrative Energy’, ‘Purpose and Meaning in Life’. They thought Spiritual activities experience were big help for their life. especially when they were in trouble, Harmonious Interconnectedness of the Supreme Beings made them strong. They thought Spirituality gave them family resilience that they could overcome their family crisis. They thought spiritual mentors were influenced for them.
In the final section, some remarks on theory and practices in the field as well as limitations of this study are added.
