대학생의 정서지능과 진로결정의 관계에서 진로결정 자기효능감과 진로장벽의 매개효과 = The Mediating Effects of Career Decision-making Self-efficacy and Career Barriers on the Relationship between Emotional Intelligence and Career Decision-making of College Students

The purpose of this study is to examine the mediating effects of career decision-making self-efficacy and career barriers in the relationship between emotional intelligence and career decision of college students. In order to achieve the purpose of this research, The subjects were 324 students from four universities located in Busan. Instruments used in the study were as follows: The Emotional Intelligence Scale, Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy Scale, Career Barriers Scale, Career Decision Scale. The data were analyzed through Structural Equation Model by using AMOS 18.0 Program. The results of the Structural Equation Model Analysis showed that emotional intelligence and career decision-making self-efficacy and career barriers directly affected career decision. Conclusions from results and discussion of this study are as follows: First, it is found that emotional intelligence has negative direct effect on career decision, but has positive indirect effect through career decision- making self-efficacy. Second, it is found that emotional intelligence has negative direct effect on career decision, but has positive indirect effect through career barriers. Third, there is sequential mediation effect of career decision-making self-efficacy and career barriers in relation between emotional intelligence and career decision. Therefore, effective counseling strategies to improve one's career decision- making self-efficacy are required to perceive one's emotion well and have confidence in one's career decision in order to enhance career decision level. Consequently, It means that the emotional career guide program need on college student. Finally, the limitations of this study and suggestions for further research are presented.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 대학생의 정서지능이 어떠한 경로를 통해 진로결정에 영향을 미치는지를 탐색하고, 정서지능과 진로결정의 관계에서 진로결정 자기효능감과 진로장벽의 매개효과를 검증하는데 그 목적이 있다. 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해 부산지역의 4개 대학교 전 학년 450명을 대상으로 정서지능, 진로결정 자기효능감, 진로장벽, 진로결정 검사를 실시하였으며, 최종적으로 324명의 자료가 분석에 포함되었다. 수집된 자료는 Amos(version 18.0) 통계 프로그램을 이용하여 SEM(structural equation modeling)절차에 따라 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과와 논의를 통해 얻어진 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 정서지능, 진로결정 자기효능감, 진로장벽은 모두 진로결정에 영향을 미친다. 정서지능과 진로결정의 관계에서 정서지능은 진로결정에 부적인 영향을 주었고, 진로결정 자기효능감은 진로결정에 비교적 높은 정적인 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 개인이 지각하는 진로장벽은 진로결정에 부적인 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 정서지능과 진로결정의 관계에서 진로결정 자기효능감의 매개효과가 있다. 정서지능은 진로결정에 부적인 직접효과를 주지만 진로결정 자기효능감을 통해서는 정적인 간접효과를 보였고, 결과적으로 정적인 총효과를 보였다. 셋째, 정서지능과 진로결정의 관계에서 진로장벽의 매개효과가 있다. 정서지능은 진로결정에 부적인 직접효과를 가지지만 진로장벽을 통해서는 정적인 간접효과를 보였고, 결과적으로 정적인 총효과를 보였다. 대학생들의 효과적인 진로지도를 위한 시사점은 다음과 같다. 대학생들의 진로결정 과정에서 정서지능과 진로결정 자기효능감을 증진시키는 것은 그들의 합리적인 진로결정을 방해하는 요인이 되는 진로장벽을 낮게 지각하게 하고, 나아가 진로결정수준을 높이는 요인이 된다. 따라서 진로결정수준을 높이기 위해서는 개개인이 자신이 가진 정서지능을 잘 활용하고, 진로선택에 자신감을 가지고 준비할 수 있도록 개인의 자기효능감을 증진시키기 위한 개인상담 및 집단상담의 전략이 필요하다.
