미술치료학 석사학위과정 실습생들의 기관미술치료에서의 조기종결 체험연구 = Hermeneutic Phenomenological Understanding of Lived Experience of the Premature Termination in Institution-Based Art Therapy of the Student Enrolled in an Art Therapy Master's Program

The aim of this study is to understand art therapy trainees’ experience of the premature termination of institution-based art therapy. Fourteen students participated in the study. 13 of them are in their master’s degree in art therapy and one has already earned a master’s degree. Max van Manen’s approach was applied to interpret the data, and 13 essential themes and 35 sub-themes were identified. According to the findings, participants have negative emotional experience attributed to premature termination, but they take it as growing pains. Second, even though participants have agreed to premature termination, they realize that they should have a voice in deciding termination in order to secure sessions for proper termination.Third, participants realize that they should quickly notice and react to what a client needs and requests in the early stage of sessions because a session may not go as planned and be prematurely terminated. Fourth, participants need guidance such as supervision to overcome the negative effects of premature termination and, as a result, they acquire an objective perspective on premature termination

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 미술치료학 석사학위과정 실습생들이 다양한 기관에 나가 미술치료실습을 행하게 될 때경험하게 되는 조기종결의 체험을 이해하는데 있다. 본 연구의 참여자는 모두 14명으로 미술치료 석사학위과정13명과 졸업생 1명이다. 연구 참여자와의 면담을 통해 얻은 자료들을 Max van Manen(1990/1994)의 해석학적현상학적 방법으로 분석한 결과 13개의 본질적 주제와 35개의 하위주제들이 도출되었다. 본 연구의 결론은 첫째, 연구 참여자들은 기관미술치료에서의 조기종결 체험을 통해 부정적 정서를 경험하지만 미술치료사로써의성장을 위해 필요한 단계로 받아들이게 된다. 둘째, 연구 참여자들은 기관의 일방적 통보로 조기종결을 경험하게 되는 경우 기관의 결정에 수용적 태도를 취하더라도 종결회기 확보를 위해 목소리를 내야 함을 깨달았다. 셋째, 연구 참여자들은 조기종결 체험을 통해 미술치료실습이 계획대로 진행되지 않고 조기종결이 될 수 있기에 이를 염두에 두고 첫 회기부터 내담자의 필요와 요구에 민첩하게 반응해야 한다는 것을 알게 되었다. 넷째, 연구 참여자들은 기관미술치료에서의 조기종결로 인한 어려움을 해소하기 위해 수퍼비전과 같이 조언을 얻을곳이 필요하며 수퍼비전을 통해 조기종결 경험에 대한 객관적 시각을 확보하는데 도움을 받는다.
