중국 사회보장지출의 결정요인에 관한 연구 = A Study on the Determinants of Social Security Expenditure in China

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study is to investigate factors, which could affect the level of social security spending, by establishing panel data collected from 31 Chinese local governments (castle, city and autonomous district)from 2007 to 2011, and by assuming fixed effects model and random effects model respectively. As a result, it was found that factors such as urbanization level, unemployment ratio, Proportion of previous year expenditures, per person and tax burden ratio tends to have statistically positive impacts on social security spending. Meanwhile, GRDP representing the income level per person shows statistically negative impacts on social security spending.It is because Chinese social security system is heavily concentrated on labor in urban area, making social security spending irrelevant to income`s rising. Therefore, with enhanced social security system, Chinese governmentrequires to extent the object of social security from urban to rural area in order to increase social security spending. Furthermore, the government has to step up its effort for developing social security program aiming to rural people.
