The purpose of this study was to find the possibility of amalgamative research between physical education and biomedicine by investigating related researches. It is said that the researches of physical education of emotion have significant meanings because these induce participation of people into physical activities and provide information necessary for improving the quality of physical education. But the researches also have many faults such as indistinct term using, nonobjective measuring tools and little regard on the cause of phenomena. This study proposes biomedicine as a model to overcome the deficits and examines the hypothesis explaining the emotional change caused by exercise or physical activity from biological perspective. First of all, the terms of psychiatry are very easy to describe, to understand and have clear definition. Second, using odds ratio and so on, most of epidemiological studies of biomedicine have said that exercise or physical activity are inversely correlated with mental disorder. Third, using standardized objective rating scale, experimental researches have proven that exercise or physical activity has a positive effects on emotion. The emotional changes through exercise or physical activity are explained with norepinephrine hypothesis, serotonin hypothesis, dopamine hypothesis, endorphin hypothesis. Elements of biomedical research as clear definition of terms on emotion, utilization of standardized objective rating scale and scientific, theoretical underpinnings of mechanism underlying phenomena is needed to overcome deficits of previous researches of physical education on emotion.
