조손가족 청소년의 사회적 지지 및 자아존중감과 문제행동간의 관계 = The Effects of Self-Esteem and Social Support on the Problem Behaviors of the Adolescents of Grandparent-Grandchild Family

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of the study was to examine effects of self-esteem and social support on the covert and overt problem behaviors of the adolescents of grandparent-grandchild family. Data were collected from 381 middle and high school students of grandparent-grandchild family. The findings were as follow: First, adolescents of grandparent-grandchild family who were characterized as female, lower living standard, living with working grandparents, motives of living with grandparents for parents` divorce, leaving home and disease, revealed higher in covert problem behaviors. However, the adolescents such as male, living in rural areas, living unsatisfactory life, and lower academic records, showed higher score in overt problem behaviors. Second, when the adolescents lived in rural areas, got middle and high living standard, lived ordinary and high life satisfaction, and got in touch with their parents from every day to twice per month, they perceived to be more supported from parents than any other adolescents. On the other hand, when the adolescents were middle school students, lived middle and high living standard, got ordinary and high life satisfaction, were satisfactory with their pocket money, and got higher academic records, they perceived to be more supported from grandparents than any other adolescents. In addition, the adolescents who were middle school students, satisfied with their life and pocket money, perceived to be more supported from school teachers. In addition, the adolescents who were female, and lived in urban areas perceived to be more supported from friends. But the adolescents who were satisfied with their life and their pocket money and had high academic records, showed higher self-esteem. Third, the adolescents who perceived to be less supported from grandparents and be more supported from teachers, showed higher score in covert problem behaviors. But the adolescents who were low in self-esteem and parents` support showed higher score in overt problem behaviors.
