유아역사교육에 관한 연구동향 분석 = An Analysis of the Research Trends on History Education in the Early Years

국문 초록 (Abstract)

시간개념이 부족한 유아들에게 역사를 가르치는 것은 부적절하다는 인식으로 인 해 유아교육 분야에서는 역사교육이 활발히 이루어지지 않았다. 그러나 유아역사교 육의 중요성에 대한 인식이 높아짐에 따라서, 지금까지 관련 연구가 어떻게 진행되 었는지를 정확히 파악하고 앞으로의 발전 방향을 제시하고자 연구동향 분석을 실시 하였다. 가능한 모든 검색엔진을 사용하였으나 유아역사교육 관련 석사, 박사, 학술 지 논문을 모두 총합하여 단지 33편의 연구물이 검색됨으로써 매우 미흡한 연구 분 야임을 알 수 있었다. 학위논문과 학회지에 수록된 논문을 중심으로 연구내용과 연 구방법을 분석해 본 결과, 연구내용에 있어서는 기초연구보다 실천연구가 많았고 그 중에서도 관련 변인 탐색 연구가 대부분이었다. 연구방법에 있어서는 만 5세 유아를 대상으로 한 양적연구가 주를 이루었다. 자료수집방법으로는 검사가 가장 많이 사용 되었으나 국내선행연구에서 사용된 검사도구에 의존하는 비중이 아주 높았다. 질적 연구와 문헌연구는 극소수에 불과하였다. 이러한 결과는 유아역사교육 관련 연구가 시급히 활성화되어야 하며 내용과 방법에 있어서 다양화될 필요가 있음을 시사한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study analyzed the research trends of early childhood history education in Korea. In spite of sufficient rationale for including history in the early childhood curriculum, research on the early childhood history education is rare. A total of only 33 studies (18 master’s and doctoral theses, and 15 academic articles) conduced in Korea were analyzed in terms of research contents and research methods. Frequency analysis and percentage were computed for data analysis. The result of this study showed a very slow increase in research on early childhood history education. The research focused narrowly on related variables concerned with practical research. Theoretical research was the least. In terms of research methods, quantitative rather than qualitative research types were more frequently used mostly with the subject of five-year-old children. The most frequently used data collection method was a test method. This result suggests that the research contents and methods in early childhood history education need to be more diversified. There should be in-depth fundamental research in this field to determine the principles and directions for early childhood history education.
