아동의 주의력결핍 과잉행동 성향이 인터넷 과다사용에 미치는 영향: 우울의 매개효과 = A Mediating Effect of Depression on the Association of ADHD symptoms and Internet Over-use among Elementary School Students

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 아동의 주의력결핍 과잉행동 성향이 인터넷 과다사용에 미치는 영향에 있어 우울이 매개역할을 하는지를 확인하였다. 본 연구를 위해 울산시에 소재한 4개 초등학교 5, 6학년 학생들과 이들의 담임교사를 대상으로 설문지 조사를 실시하였고, 매개모형 검증을 위해 상관분석 및 구조방정식을 사용하였다. 연구 결과 첫째, 주의력결핍 과잉행동 성향과 우울, 주의력결핍 과잉행동 성향과 인터넷 과다사용, 우울과 인터넷 과다사용은 각각 상관관계가 있었다. 둘째, 주의력결핍 과잉행동 성향과 인터넷 과다사용 간의 관계에서 우울이 매개 역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 아동의 주의력결핍 과잉행동 성향은 인터넷 과다사용에 직접적인 영향을 미치기도 하지만, 우울을 매개로 하여 간접적인 영향을 미치기도 하는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 본 연구는 주의력결핍 과잉행동 성향이 있는 아동이 인터넷을 과다하게 사용할 경우 주의력결핍 과잉행동 성향 자체에 대한 개입도 필요하지만, 우울을 고려하여 인터넷 과다사용을 예방하고 치료할 수 있다는 데 상담적 함의를 가질 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relation among ADHD symptoms, depression, and internet over-use, and to explore the mediating effect of depression on the association between ADHD symptoms and internet over-use in elementary school students. 240 students and their teachers were recruited in Ulsan metro city. Correlation analysis and Structural Equation Model(SEM) were employed to examine these relations. Results of this study were as follows. First, significant positive associations among ADHD symptoms, internet over-use and depression were found. Second, ADHD symptoms influenced the levels of depression which, in turn, affected the levels of internet over-use. Additionally, ADHD symptoms showed the direct effect on internet over-use. The limitations of the current study and implication to counseling and further research are discussed.
