고교생의 공감, 또래영향력, 사회적 지지와 공격성과의 관계 = The relationship among empathy, peer influence, social support and aggression of high school students

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 고교생들의 성별에 따른 공감, 또래영향력, 사회적 지지와 공격성과의 관계를 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 D시의 인문고와 전문고 3개교 학생들을 대상으로 공감, 또래영향력, 사회적 지지, 공격성 척도로 구성된 설문지를 실시하였고, 최종적으로 541명의 자료를 분석하였다. 자료분석을 위해서는 변량분석, 상관분석, 표준 중다회귀분석과 단계적 중다회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과 공격성 전체 및 언어적공격성, 적대감 요인은 성별에 따른 차이가 없었고, 신체적공격성은 남학생이 높았으며, 분노요인은 여학생이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 공감과 사회적지지는 전 영역에서 여학생이 높게 나타났다. 공격성 전체에 대한 예측력은 남학생의 경우, 개인적고통, 인지적공감, 비행친구, 공감적관심의 순으로, 여학생은 인지적공감, 개인적 고통, 비행친구, 공감적관심의 순으로 나타났고, 사회적 지지의 예측력은 유의하지 않았다. 하위요인별로 상대적 설명력을 살펴본 결과 신체적 공격성은 남학생의 경우 비행친구가, 여학생의 경우 인지적공감이 가장 높은 설명력을 보였다. 언어적공격성과 분노요인에 있어서는 남학생과 여학생 모두 인지적공감이 가장 높은 설명력을 보였고, 적대감요인에 있어서는 남학생과 여학생 모두 개인적고통이 가장 높은 설명력을 보였다. 본 연구의 결과는 특히 인지적공감이 고교생의 공격성에 영향을 미치는 중요한 변인임을 시사한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships among empathy, peer influence, social support and aggression of adolescents. The subjects were 541 students(356 boys, 185 girls) from 3 high schools in Daegu. Data were collected through self-report questionnaires, consisting of Interpersonal Reactive Index(IRI), Peer Influence Scale, Social Support Scale and Aggression Questionnaire. Data were analyzed by Pearson correlational analysis, MANOVA, ANOVA and multiple regression analysis in SPSS/WIN program.
The findings are as follows. First, there were significant gender differences in physical aggression and anger. Male students reported higher level of physical aggression and female students reported higher level of anger. Overall, female students reported higher level of empathy, peer influence and perceived social support. Second, the effects of delinquent friends, for male students, but cognitive empathy, for female students, on physical aggression were statistically significant. Cognitive empathy was the most important predictor of verbal aggression and anger for all students, and it has an important implication. Personal distress has a strong influence on hostility for all students, but more researches are needed to explain this finding. Our results showed that there is a strong link between cognitive empathy and overall aggression in male and female adolescents. It suggests that it is very important to improve cognitive perspective-taking ability for preventing and reducing aggression of adolescents.
