청소년의 성격소질과 우울증상과의 상관관계에서 스트레스 유형의 중재효과 = The Moderating Effects of Stress Types in the Relationships between Adolescence`s Personality Predispositions and Depressive Symptoms

The purpose of this study was to examine the moderating effects of stress types on the relationships between adolescence`s personality predispositions and depressive symptoms, both hopeless and non-hopeless types. The subjects were 460 high school students in Seoul. They were assessed by Depressive Experiences Questionnaire-Adolescent Version, Interpersonal Stress Scale, Academic Stress Scale, Children`s Depressive Inventory and Hopeless Depressive Symptom Questionnaire. The results are summarized as follows: First, dependency and self-criticism showed signigicant positive correlations with hopelessness and non-hopelessness depressive symptoms while interpersonal and academic stress had significant positive correlations with hopelessness and non-hopelessness depressive symptoms. Second, dependency and self-criticism had a significant effect on hopelessness and non-hopelessness depressive symptoms. Third, interpersonal and academic stress had a significant effect on hopelessness and non-hopelessness depressive symptoms. Fourth, academic stress had a moderating effect on the relationship between self-criticism and hopelessness depressive symptoms. In conclusion, this study suggests that the level of academic stress may increase hopelessness depressive symptoms on the relationship between self-criticism and hopelessness depressive symptoms.
