초등학교 교사의 교직 선택 동기가 직무수행 및 교사만족에 주는 영향 분석 = An Analysis on the Impact of Teacher`s Motivation to Select Teaching Profession on Satisfaction and Performance

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study analyzes the kinds of motivation teachers had to select their profession and its relationship with current satisfaction and performance, utilizing data from Korean Educational Development Institute. Major findings are as follows. First, teachers with intrinsic motivation show enthusiasm on their job more than ones with extrinsic motivation. Second, motivation to select teaching profession has a significant influence on teacher`s satisfaction and performance. Teachers having extrinsic and passive motivation reveal a greatly low level of current job and school satisfaction. Third, not only intrinsic motivation but also extrinsic motivation impact select teaching. While this study statistically shows an impact of teacher`s motivation to select their profession on their current job attitude and performance, it is also important to implement a systematic approach to encourage intrinsic motivation.
