쌓기놀이 영역 지도에 대한 유아교사의 인식과 현황 = Early Childhood Teachers` Perceptions and Current Status for Teaching in Block Area

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aimed to provide basic data to develop a teacher training program focused on block play by investigating teachers`` perceptions, roles, and difficulties for teaching in the block area. The participants were 319 early childhood teachers teaching in kindergartens and child-care centers in Seoul and Gyeong-gi province. The results of this study were as follows; First, teachers acknowledged the importance of block play. Second, teachers tried to apply themes to when teaching in block area. Third, teachers provided theme-related blocks and props to teach the Nuri curriculum and National Child-care Curriculum. Lastly, teachers utilized the results of evaluation to improve block area. However, teachers found it hard to maintain and expand children``s interests, instruct children who are neither interested in block play nor likely to get their peers to take part in block play, and help children to improve their level of block play and evaluate children``s block play with teaching. The findings have implications for developing a teacher training programs, aiming to develop teachers`` ability to teach in block area.
