노인 우울증 치유를 위한 가드닝 프로그램 및 효과 검증 = A Study on the Gardening Program and Validation of Effects for the Healing of Depression in the Elderly

This study was conducted to develop a gardening program for the treatment of depression in the elderly and to verify the healing effect. The garden healing program was designed through literature research related to the theory of elderly depression, garden healing programs, and review of previous studies, and the final garden healing program was developed through expert validity verification. The experimental group was selected through a Korean-style elderly depression scale test, and the program was executed after IRB approval. The program was conducted for 60 hours once a week for 3 hours.
The effect was verified through the depression scale test and the PWI-stress scale test, and the satisfaction was verified through a satisfaction survey for the experimental group. As a result of the study, first, the experimental group conducted a Korean-style depression scale test on the elderly attending a senior college and selected 20 people who could participate in the program from among the elderly with a depression score of 14 or higher (mild depression). The change in depression decreased by 15.3 points from 22.0 points to 6.7 points, and was significant in the range of 0.1% of the significance level. The stress change decreased by 21.6 points from 30.30 points to 8.70 points and was significant in the range of 0.1% of the significance level. The satisfaction evaluation was very high at 4.95 points. The garden healing program developed in this study may be applied to the elderly exposed to depression, reducing depression, and it is judged that various programs that can be applied to subjects who need various types of healing are needed. Garden healing factors that affect depression and stress reduction effects and satisfaction need to be identified through follow-up studies.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 노인 우울증 치유를 위한 가드닝 프로그램을 개발하고 치유효과를 검증하기 위해 수행하였다. 노인우울증 이론과 정원치유 프로그램 관련된 문헌연구, 선행연구 고찰을 통해 정원치유 프로그램을 설계하였고, 전문가 타당성 검증을 통하여 최종 정원치유 프로그램을 개발하였다. 실험군은 한국형 노인 우울척도 검사를 통해 선정하였고, IRB 승인 후 프로그램을 실행하였다. 프로그램은 20차시로 주 1회 3시간씩 60시간 진행하였다. 효과 검증은 우울척도검사, PWI-스트레스 척도검사를 통해 검증하였으며, 실험군에 대한 만족도 설문을 통해 만족도를 검증하였다. 연구결과는, 첫째, 실험군은 노인대학에 다니는 노인을 대상으로 한국형 우울척도 검사를 실시하여 우울증 점수 14점 이상(경도 우울증)인 노인 중에서 프로그램에 참여할 수 있는 20명을 선정하였다. 우울변화는 22.0점에서 6.7점으로 15.3점 낮아졌으며, 유의수준 0.1% 범위에서 유의하였다. 스트레스 변화는 30.30점에서 8.70점으로 21.6점 낮아졌으며, 유의수준 0.1% 범위에서 유의하였다. 만족도 평가는 4.95점으로 매우 높게 나타났다. 본 연구에서 개발된 정원치유 프로그램은 우울증에 노출된 노년층에게 적용되어 우울증이 감소할 수 있으며, 다양한 유형의 치유가 필요한 대상자들에게 적용될 수 있는 다양한 프로그램 개발 및 적용이 필요할 것으로 판단된다. 우울증과 스트레스 저감 효과와 만족도에 영향을 미치는 정원치유 인자는 후속연구를 통해 밝혀낼 필요가 있다.
