침습적 반추, 의도적 반추 및 정서인식명확성이 외상후 성장에 미치는 영향 = The Effect of Intrusive Rumination, Deliberate Rumination, and Emotional Clarity on Posttraumatic Growth

This study examines how intrusive rumination, deliberate rumination, and emotional clarity after a traumatic event affect the transition into posttraumatic growth. For this, a survey was conducted by using traumatic experience questionnaires:,-the Event-Related Rumination Inventory in Korean, Korean Post-traumatic Growth Inventory, and Trait Meta-Mood Scale.
These were administered to 500 adult men and women from their 20s to their 60s living in Seoul, Gyeonggi-do, and Chungcheongbuk-do. A tootal of 465 questionnaires, except for omitted materials, was analyzed by structural equation modeling. The results of this study are as follows. Pathways to intrusive rumination, deliberate rumination, and emotional clarity are all significant. Deliberate rumination has a significant impact on post-traumatic growth, and the direct pathways of emotional clarity to deliberate rumination and post-traumatic growth is significant. By verifying the indirect effect of the study model, we found that the following conclusions are statistically significant: First, intrusive rumination leads to post-traumatic growth by going through deliberate rumination. Second, intrusive rumination leads to post-traumatic growth by going through emotional clarity and deliberate rumination in that order. Third, intrusive rumination leads to post-traumatic growth by going through emotional clarity. These results of the study imply that: First, emotional clarity affects the transition into post-traumatic growth by mediating between intrusive rumination and deliberate rumination. Second, emotional clarity reduces intrusive rumination, and affects the transition into post-traumatic growth. Based on these results, this study discusses suggestions for a follow-up study on the practical meaning of counseling with clients who are experiencing a traumatic event.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 외상 사건 이후에 나타나는 침습적 반추와 의도적 반추, 정서인식명확성이 외상후 성장으로 이행하는데 있어 어떤 영향을 미치는지 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 서울, 경기, 충북지역에 거주하는 20대에서 60대 성인 남녀 500명을 대상으로 외상 경험 설문지, 사건관련 반추 척도, 외상후 성장 척도, 특질 상위 기분 척도를 사용하여 설문을 실시하였다. 누락된 자료를 제외한 총 465개의 자료를 구조방정식 모형을 통해 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 침습적 반추가 의도적 반추, 정서인식명확성에 이르는 경로는 모두 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 의도적반추는 외상후 성장에 유의한 영향을 미치고 있는 것으로 나타났고, 정서인식명확성이 의도적 반추 및 외상후 성장에 이르는 직접 경로는 모두 유의하게 나타났다. 연구모형의 간접효과 검증 결과 첫째, 침습적 반추가 의도적 반추를 거쳐 외상후 성장으로 이행하는 경로는 유의하게 나타났다. 둘째, 침습적 반추에서 정서인식명확성과 의도적 반추를 순차적으로 거쳐 외상후 성장으로 이행하는 경로는 유의하였다. 셋째, 침습적 반추에서 정서인식명확성을 거쳐 외상후 성장으로 이행하는 경로는 유의하였다. 이와 같은 연구결과는 첫째, 정서인식명확성이 침습적 반추와 의도적 반추 사이를 매개하여 외상후 성장으로 이르는데 영향을 미치는 것으로 시사된다. 둘째, 정서인식명확성이 침습적 반추를 감소시키고 외상후 성장으로 이행하는데 영향을 미치는 것으로 시사된다.
본 연구결과를 바탕으로 외상경험을 한 내담자와의 심리상담 과정에 대한 실제적 의의와 후속 연구를 위한 제언 등을 논의하였다.
