아동기 외상과 초기 성인기 우울수준과의 관계: 초기부적응도식과 정서표현양가성 및 회피대처방식의 매개효과 = The Relation Between Childhood Trauma and Early Adulthood Depression: the Mediating Effects of Early Maladaptive Schemas, Ambivalence over Emotional Expressiveness and Avoidance Coping Style

The purpose of this study was to investigate the mediating effects of early maladaptive schemas, ambivalence over emotional expressiveness and avoidance coping style on the relation between childhood trauma and early adulthood depression using structural equational modeling. Three competing models were compared and evaluated in order to examine the interrelationships among the variables of interest. CTQ-SF, YSQ-SF, AEQ, CSI, CES-D were implemented to 270 early adults(123 males and 147 females) between 20 and 30 years of age. The direct effects of childhood trauma on adulthood depression did not reach statistical significance. Early maladaptive schemas, however, had direct effects on adulthood depression. It also had indirect effects on adulthood depression mediated by avoidance coping style and ambivalence over emotional expressiveness. Ambivalence over emotional expressiveness showed an indirect relation to adulthood depression mediated by avoidance coping style. Implications for the counseling and suggestions for future study are discussed.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 아동기 외상과 초기성인기 우울수준 간의 관계에서 초기부적응도식과 정서표현양가성 및 회피대처방식의 매개효과를 알아보고자 하였다. 연구를 위해 20∼30대 성인 270명으로부터 자료를 수집하였다. 관련이론과 선행연구 결과들을 바탕으로 3개의 구조모형을 설정하였다. 모형 1은 매개변인들이 동일한 수준에서 병렬적으로 외상과 우울 간의 관계를 매개하는 모형이고, 모형 2는 외상이 초기부적응도식에 영향을 주고 초기부적응도식은 우울에 직접 영향을 줄 뿐만 아니라 정서표현양가성과 회피대처방식을 통해 우울에 간접적으로 영향을 주는 모형이다. 모형3은 모형2의 경로에 정서표현양가성이 회피대처방식을 통해 우울에 간접적인 영향을 미치는 경로를 추가한 모형이다. 세 개의 모형을 비교한 결과, 모형3이 가장 양호한 것으로 나타났으며, 경쟁모형 평가와 모형수정을 거쳐 채택된 최종모형 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 아동기 외상은 우울에 직접 영향을 미치지 않았다. 초기부적응도식은 우울에 직접 영향을 줄 뿐만 아니라 정서표현양가성과 회피대처방식을 통해 간접적으로 영향을 주며, 또한 정서표현양가성을 통해 회피대처방식에 간접적으로 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 정서표현양가성은 우울에 직접 영향을 미치지 않았고, 회피대처방식을 통해 간접적으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 토대로 시사점과 제언을 제시하였다.
