초등학생의 진로성숙도 향상을 위한 부모참여 진로집단상담 프로그램 개발 = Development of a Program Utilizing Parents' Participation in Career Group Counseling for the Improvement of Career Maturity of Elementary School Students

The purpose of this study was to develop and implement a program utilizing parents' participation in career group counseling for elementary school students and assess and validate its effect on their career maturity. For this research, twenty volunteered 6th graders from ‘S’ elementary school in Bu-san city and their parents were chosen. They were divided into two groups; 10 in the experimental group and 10 in the control group.
The results obtained from this research are as follows: Compared to the control group, the experimental group utilizing parents' participation in career group counseling has shown a significant statistical difference in the improvement of career maturity.
This research has proved its effect. First, it is very effective to improve the career maturity since it helps them combine both their ability and reality through their parents' participation and rationally choose their way into careers with more confidence through their parents’ interests, supports, and more communications and contacts. Second, it can help parents provide their children with a consistent and systematic career guidance based on their characteristics. Third, it helps schools provide parents with information related to their children’s future career as a public education institute.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 초등학생의 진로성숙도 향상을 위한 부모참여 진로집단상담 프로그램을 구안하고 구안한 프로그램의 효과를 검증하는데 있다. 먼저, 프로그램 구안을 위해 초등학생의 진로발달단계와 진로성숙도, 그리고 진로집단상담 프로그램에의 부모의 역할 및 참여방법에 관한 국내외의 선행연구를 고찰하였다. 이를 통해 초등학생의 진로성숙도 향상을 위한 프로그램의 구성요소와 효과적인 부모참여 방법을 선정하고, 박인우(1995)의 상담프로그램 개발절차에 따라 총 10회기의 프로그램을 구안하였다. 프로그램의 효과검증을 위해 부산광역시의 S초등학교 6학년 아동 중 프로그램의 참여를 희망하는 아동 20명을 각각 실험집단과 통제집단에 10명씩 배치하고, 실험집단의 아동 10명과 아동의 부모 10명이 함께 참여하는 5주간의 프로그램을 실시하였다. 연구도구는 강원도교육연구원(1993)의 ‘초·중학생용 진로성숙도검사’를 사용하였다. 연구결과, 부모참여 진로집단상담 프로그램에 참가한 실험집단의 아동은 진로성숙도 변화에 있어 통제집단과 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 진로태도의 하위변인인 계획성, 타협성, 결정성과, 진로능력의 하위변인인 직업이해능력, 진로선택능력, 의사결정능력에서 유의한 차이를 보였다. 이 연구는 기존의 부모참여 집단상담 프로그램들의 한계점으로 지적되었던 부모와 자녀가 집단회기에 공동으로 참여하지 못함으로써 나타나는 문제점을 극복하여 부모와 자녀가 실질적으로 함께 의사소통할 수 있는 부모참여 진로집단상담 프로그램을 개발했다는 점에서 의의가 있다.
