영국의 직업교육훈련에 대한 분석 - Further Education Colleges와 New Universities를 중심으로-

On the basis of this study we have identified some positive aspects of the British vocational education system that could be exploited to strengthen the college system in Korea. 1) The FE colleges and the new universities in the UK not only provide the vocational courses for young people but also a variety of other courses for adults. 2) The British government is taking a central role to ensure the proper running of these vocational training courses through the department of education and skills. 3) Many of the vocational courses offered by the FE colleges and the new universities would lead onto students being awarded relevant nationally recognized certificates at the end. Hence the course curriculums are designed and taught for the attainment of these certificates. It is also worth noting that many students will have opportunities to gain real hands-on experience out in industry through these courses.

교육서비스 개방에 대비한 외국 고등교육기관의 국제화 프로그램 사례에 관한 연구 - 호주의 고등교육기관을 중심으로-

On the basis of this study I have analyzed major issues on educational service sectors in DDA negotiations and positive aspects of examples of internationalization of higher education in Australia that could be exploited to strengthen the globalization in the college system in Korea. The study found that the kind of programs of internationalization being practiced in Australia's universities are international student program, internationalization of teaching, offshore and distance education, international technical assistance & training, and international student support program. The benefits of internationalization are seen in terms of economic growth, labor market demands, international relations, intercultural knowledge, and skills, financial incentives for institutions, and increasingly the impact on quality assurance for all stakeholders. Overall, in response to the emerging global realities, higher educational institutions in Korea will need to improve on quality of education to meet the global standard.

참탐구를 위한 천체 관측 교육 프로그램 설계 원리 개발

Although astronomical observation has various educational effects and values, studies conducted in the context of earth science education have been relatively insufficient compared with other fields. In addition, few studies have been conducted on systematic design principles development guiding teachers in the application of practical astronomical observation education. In this study, we attempted to develop design principles for astronomical observation education programs for K-12 students and applied the program to the classes. The initial design principles were derived through literature research and revised through validation processes by eight experts. The final principles were confirmed based on the usability evaluation of two high school teachers, and they included 11 design principles and 27 detailed guidelines. In addition, an astronomical observation education program consisting of eight lessons was designed by applying the final design principle. This program was applied to after-school classes in high school, the responses of participating students were investigated. We anticipate our design principles can be used as a criterion for systematic design of various types of observation activities, including outdoor observations. 천체 관측은 다양한 교육적 효과와 가치를 갖고 있음에도 불구하고 그동안 지구과학 교육의 맥락에서 수행되었던 연구는 다른 분야에 비해 상대적으로 부족하였다. 또한 실제적인 천체 관측 교육의 현장 적용을 위해 교사들을 안내해 줄 체계적인 설계 원리 개발에 관한 연구는 거의 수행되지 않았다. 이 연구에서는 초·중등 학생들의 천체 관측 교육 프로그램을 위한 설계 원리를 개발하고, 이를 바탕으로 한 프로그램을 현장에 적용하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 문헌연구를 통해 초기 설계 원리를 도출하고, 2차례에 걸쳐 전문가 8인의 검토와 타당화 과정을 거친 후, 고등학교 교사 2 명의 사용성 평가를 바탕으로 천체 관측 단계별 11개의 설계 원리와 27개의 세부 지침을 최종 개발하였다. 또한 최종설계 원리를 적용하여 8차시로 구성된 천체 관측 교육 프로그램을 설계하고, 이를 고등학교 방과 후 수업에 적용하여참여 학생들의 반응을 평가하였다. 이 연구 결과 개발된 천체 관측 교육 프로그램 설계 원리는 야외 관측을 비롯한 다양한 유형의 관측 활동을 포함하는 프로그램의 체계적 설계가 가능하도록 하는 준거로 활용될 수 있으리라 기대한다.

노인 평생교육 진흥과 지역사회 발전 사이 연계성에 대한 내러티브 고찰

전 세계적으로 국가적 발전과 함께 경제 수준이 향상됨에 따라 인구 고령화 및 인구 감소 현상을 겪으며 지역사회 내 노인 인구를 위한 평생교육 중요성도 대두되고 있다. 본 연구는 노인이 평생교육을 통해 얻는 개인적 이득뿐만 아니라 지역사회 발전과의 연계성을 함께 고찰하였다. 또한 평생교육 참여가 기여하는 사회적 이점도 살펴보았다. 요약하자면 본 논문에서는 노인을 위한 평생교육이 노인의 오랜 삶의 경험과 전문성을 활용하여 고용, 자원봉사, 안전, 시민 참여, 세대 간 통합 등 다양한 차원에서 지역사회 발전에 기여할 수 있다는 것을 제언하며, 노인의 독립적이고 적극적인 활동 기간을 연장함으로써 사회적 지원 서비스로 인한 국가적 부담을 완화시킬 수도 있음도 확인하였다. The reason why lifelong education for the elderly population in local communities is important is because most countries around the world are experiencing population aging and population decline as their economic levels improve. This paper aims to discuss the importance of lifelong education for the future development of local communities, specifically focusing on the benefits that actively participating in lifelong education brings to the elderly population. Furthermore, it intends to examine the social advantages that can be derived from this engagement. In conclusion, lifelong education for the elderly can contribute to the development of local communities in various ways, such as through employment, volunteering, protection, civic engagement, and intergenerational activities, by harnessing the expertise and experiences of older individuals. Additionally, it can also extend their period of independent and active living, thereby alleviating the national burden of social support services.

전문대학 교육 공금과 그 전망

20세기 마감을 앞두고 있는 이 시점은 새로운 천년 대를 맞이하기 위한 준비 차원에서, 그리고 그 동안 누적되어 온 경제사회의 모순 타파 차원에서 우리 사회의 거의 모든 부문에서 개혁이 요구되고 있다. 이러한 개혁은 IMF 구제금융체제를 계기로 하여 하나의 사회적 합의처럼 되고 있다. 또한 개혁은 우리 경제사회가 하나의 새로운 패러다임으로 이동하는 것을 지향하고 있다. 이와 같은 개혁의 소용돌이에서 대학교육시장도 일찍이 경험하지 못한 상황에 직면하고 있다. 대학교육 수요자의 과잉에서 대학교육공급자의 과잉으로 대학교육 시장의 구조가 정반대로 변화하고 있다. 즉 대학교육시장은 예전과는 정반대가 되는 구조로 변하고 있다. 한국에서 대학교육공급자는 대학교, 개방대학교,전문대학 등으로 3분되어 있다. 이 세 공급자 중에서 전문대학은 그 동안 그 위상이 불안정하게 자리매김되어 왔기 때문에 대학교육시장 구조의 변화에 따라 가장 큰 영향을 받을 것으로 예상된다. 이 논문은 전문대학교육시장의 공급측면에 대한 분석이다. 전문대학교육 공급현황을 입학정원, 재적생 등을 살피면서 보았다. 그리고 공급능력을 보기 위하여 교원과 강의실 현황을 살펴보았다. 그리고 내용을 요약하면서 결론 부분에서 향후 전문대학교육 공급의 방향을 시사점으로 제시 하였다.

국제통상적 관점에서 본 한국 고등교육분야의 현황과 경쟁력에 대한 분석

The purpose of this study is to review the controversy over applying trade perspective on Korean higher education sector under the WTO governance. Governmental efforts to enhance the competitiveness of its higher education got proactive since it turned out to be one of the major factors that has negative impact on its national competitiveness. Under the circumstances, status review on the phenomenon from the macro perspective could offer some useful insights for the efforts to build up relevant resolutions for issues within the sector. In order to acquire the general understanding over it, the study broadly reviewed chronological changes in world trade trends that affect current status and issues in Korean higher education.

교양교육 체계 마련 및 적용 가능 연구

대학의 중장기 발전계획과 졸업생의 요구에 따라 미래지향적 사회 비전을 반영한 Y대학교의 특성화 교양교육시스템 구축 및 적용 연구가 필요한 실정이다. 이에 따라 본 연구에서는 Y대학교 교양교육 프로그램의 역할을 재정립하고, 교양교육의 질을 체계적으로 높일 수 있는 기반을 마련하고자 하였다. In accordance with the university’s medium to long-term development plan and the implementation of the desired qualities of graduates, there is a demand for the establishment and applicable research of a specialized liberal arts education system at Y University that reflects a future-oriented social vision. In line with this, the goal is to redefine the role of Y University’s liberal arts education program and provide a foundation of resources to systematically enhance the quality of liberal arts education.
