        A new method of synthesis on high-quality AgGaS2 polycrystalline

        High-pure, single-phase, free of voids and high mass density AgGaS2 polycrystalline was synthesized by a new method, i.e. two-temperature zone vapor-transporting together with the mechanical and melt temperature oscillation method (TVMMTOM), directly from high-purity (6 N) elements silver, gallium and sulfur with excess sulfur. The mechanism and advantages of the new method for synthesizing high-quality AgGaS2 were discussed. It is found that the polycrystalline material synthesized by the new method is superior to that synthesized by the conventional method, what is more the new method can avoid the explosion of the synthetic quartz ampoule. Adopting the modified Bridgman method an integral and crack-free AgGaS2 single crystal with diameter of 14 mm and length of 63 mm has been obtained. It was found that there was a (1 0 1) cleavage face and the four order X-ray spectrum of the {1 0 1} faces was observed. By the method of DSC analysis the melting and freezing points of the AgGaS2 single crystal were about 995 and 955 ℃. The transmission spectra of the AgGaS2 sample of 10 × 8 ×2㎣ were obtained by means of UV and IR spectrophotometer. The limiting wavelength was 470 nm and the band gap was 2.64 eV. It can be found in the infrared spectrum that the infrared transmission was above 55%from 4000 to 800 cm-1, and the infrared transmittance of the crystal is up to 63% at 10.6 lm, which is higher than that of the crystal grown using polycrystalline materials synthesized by the conventional method. The value of a in 10.6 lm was 0.267 cm-1. Above mentioned results showed that the crystal was of good quality and TVMMTOM is preferable for synthesizing high-quality AgGaS2 polycrystalline materials.

        Underlying mechanisms of phosphodiesterase 10A and glutamate-ammonia ligase genes that regulate inosine monophosphate deposition and thereby affect muscle tenderness in Jingyuan chickens

        Objective: Inosine monophosphate (IMP) is a key factor that imparts of meat flavor. Differences in the IMP content in the muscles were evaluated to improve chicken meat quality. Methods: For this study, the IMP content was detected by high performance liquid chromatography. The gene expression profiles of Jingyuan chickens with different feeding patterns and different sexes were analyzed by RNA-sequencing (RNA-seq). Results: Breast muscle IMP content in free-range chickens was extremely significantly higher than that of caged chickens (p<0.01). Breast muscle IMP content in hens was also higher than that of cocks, but the difference was not significant. Correlation analysis showed that the breast muscle IMP content in caged hens and cocks was negatively correlated with the shear force, and the breast muscle IMP content in free-range hens was significantly negatively correlated with the shear force (p<0.05). The two key genes associated with IMP synthesis in chickens with different feeding patterns were glutamate-ammonia ligase (GLUL) and phosphodiesterase 10A (PDE10A). Bioinformatics analysis revealed that the GLUL and PDE10A genes are involved in glutamine biosynthesis and purine salvage pathways respectively. In addition, GLUL expression was positively correlated with the IMP content in caged and free-range chickens, and PDE10A expression was significantly positively correlated with the IMP content in caged and free-range chickens (p<0.05). Conclusion: These findings will facilitate the comprehension of the deposition of IMP in the muscles and thereby aid the process of selection and breeding of good quality local chickens.

        Isospecific Polymerizations of 1-Butene Catalyzed by MgCl2/TiCl4/Internal Donor-AlR3/External Donor System

        1-Butene polymerizations were carried out by using a MgCl2/TiCl4/ID-AlR3/ED catalyst system in n-hexane,therein the internal donor (ID) is diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP), the external donor (ED) is diphenyl dimethoxysilane (DDS) or cyclohexyl methyl dimethoxysilane (CHMMS), and the AlR3 activator is AlEt3 or Al(i-Bu)3. The effect of the molar ratio of DIBP/Mg and polymerization conditions on the catalytic activity and the isotactic index (II) of poly(1-butene) (PB) was investigated. The dosage of DIBP remarkably improved the catalytic activity and the II of PB. CHMMS was more effective than DDS for increasing the II of PB. The addition of a small amount of hydrogen enhanced the catalytic activity from 15.1 to 17.5 kg-PB·gTi-1 and the II value of PB from 89.3% to 95.1%. The mixture of AlR3 was beneficial to increase the catalytic activity with negligible effect on the isospecificity.
