Well-dispersed graphene toward robust lubrication via reorganization of sliding interface

        Zhuang Zhao,Xiaoqiang Fan,Yuting Li,Zihan Zeng,Xiaofeng Wei,Kaiyue Lin,Minhao Zhu 한국공업화학회 2023 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.119 No.-

Excellent lubrication performance of graphene lubricant is mostly attributed to the dispersion of graphene and forming of tribo-film. Herein, diethylene glycol dodecyl ether (E2C12) functionalized graphene oxide (E2C12-GO) was successfully prepared by simple esterification. The physicochemical properties of as-prepared samples were characterized by a series of characterization methods. E2C12-GO with flat edge and high-level spacing possesses high dispersion stability in PAO 20 base oil. Compared with base oil, 0.08 wt% E2C12-GO could achieve the reduction of average friction coefficient and wear rate by 30 % and 57 % at 150 N, respectively. Even with each long-term friction, E2C12-GO could still maintain the state of robust low friction coefficient. Meanwhile, the addition of E2C12-GO can significantly improve the loadbearing capacity (PB value and PD value) of base oil. The excellent tribological properties of E2C12-GO were attributed to high dispersion and high layer spacing, as well as the reorganization of sliding interface. Prospectively, the E2C12-GO shows promising potential as a multi-functional oil-based lubricating additive in industrial applications.

Individualized Concurrent Chemotherapy for Patients with Stage III–IVa Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma Receiving Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy Combined with Definitive Intensity-Modulated Radiotherapy

        Pengjie Ji,Qiongjiao Lu,Xiaoqiang Chen,Yuebing Chen,Xiane Peng,Zhiwei Chen,Cheng Lin,Shaojun Lin,Jingfeng Zong 대한암학회 2023 Cancer Research and Treatment Vol.55 No.4

Purpose This retrospective study aimed to re-evaluate the effect of concurrent chemotherapy in patients with locally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) in the era of intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT). Materials and Methods A total of 498 patients who received neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NCT) combined with concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT) or IMRT were retrospectively reviewed. The distribution of baseline characteristics was balanced using propensity score matching. Additionally, the results of NCT+IMRT and NCT+CCRT were compared using Kaplan-Meier survival analysis, and differences in survival rates were analyzed using the log rank test. Results There were no significant differences in overall survival (OS), progression-free survival (PFS), distant metastasis-free survival (DMFS), and local progression-free survival (LRFS) between the two groups. Patients were further categorized into risk subgroups based on pretreatment Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) DNA cutoff values using receiver operating characteristic curve analysis. There were no statistically significant differences in OS, PFS, DMFS, and LRFS between patients who received NCT+CCRT and NCT+IMRT in the high-risk group. In the low-risk group, although there were no differences between NCT+CCRT and NCT+IMRT in OS, PFS, and LRFS, patients who received NCT+CCRT had better DMFS than those who received NCT+IMRT. Conclusion Pretreatment EBV DNA level can be used to individualize concurrent chemotherapy for patients with locally advanced NPC. Patients with low pretreatment EBV DNA levels may benefit from concurrent chemotherapy, whereas those with high levels may not. Other treatment modalities need to be explored for high-risk patients to improve their prognosis.

      • Modular DC Solid State Transformer with Fault-Tolerant Function

        Xiangqi Meng,Yanbing Jia,Chunguang Ren,Xiaoqiang Lin,Baifu Zhang 전력전자학회 2019 ICPE(ISPE)논문집 Vol.2019 No.5

A modularized control method with faulttolerant function is proposed under the condition that a module of DC solid state transformer (DCSST) fails due to input short circuit. The decoupling control strategy is deduced by establishing the mathematic model of the DCSST. The maximum input voltage is selected as the reference voltage by adding diodes at the input side. The proposed system can automatically adjust the input voltage reference to keep the output voltage stability for the module in DCSST with short-circuit fault. Simulation and experiment results show that the proposed control method can decouple the output voltage and the input average voltage, maintain the output voltage stable and improve the reliability of the system when a short circuit occurs in a module of DCSST.
