This study aims at revealing the identity of health qigong in China by examining its formation process and development trend. 1. The Chinese government created health qigong out of a historic mission to set the established qigong in its proper place as it had been in chaotic disorder and losing fundamental basics. 2. The Chinese government systematically rearranged the traditional qigong handed down for a few thousand years to help modern people prevent and cure diseases and, after all, live a long and healthy life. 3. China designated health qigong and medical qigong for their sound development while letting those qualified only serve in the quigong industry. 4. Chinese health qigong was scientifically designed by the Chinese government to help the people practice it safely as modern science and civilization prove its remarkable effects on health improvement, disease treatment and prevention, and public health. 5. China is distributing health qigong in the dimensions of the central government along the lines of improving public health and national welfare and contributing to social progress and civilization. 6. China is promoting health qigong as the important element of Chinese culture and the right system to let the world know about Oriental culture and its ideals and visions with hundreds of years. 7. Chinese health qigong will greatly contribute to the advancement of world citizens as well as the Chinese. In addition, it will spread Chinese culture to the world and help widen the relationships and cooperation between China and every other country. 이 연구는 중국 ‘건신기공’ 형성의 시대적 배경과 중국 건신기공의 정립을 통해 중국 ‘건신기공’의 정체성을 밝히는데 있다. 1. 중국정부는 기공이 혼란에 빠져 무질서하게 발전하면서 기공의 기본을 상실하고 그 존재 가치를 잃어가는 특수한 배경에서 기공의 정립을 위한 시대적 사명을 지니고 ‘건신기공’을 탄생시켰다. 2. 중국정부는 수천 년 전승하여 온 전통적인 기공을 정비하여 현대인의 질병의 치료와 예방 및 건강장수에 도움이 되도록 체계화시켰다. 3. 중국정부는 정부의 차원에서 기공이 건전하게 발전할 수 있도록 확실하게 ‘건신기공’과 ‘의료기공’을 지정하고 기공사업에 종사하는 사람들도 자격을 갖춘 사람만이 할 수 있도록 하였다. 4. 중국 ‘건신기공’은 정부에서 과학적으로 창안하고 현대과학과 문명으로 국민들의 건강증진질병의 치료와 예방 및 보건 등의 효과와 작용을 검증하고 입증하여 국민들이 안심하고 안전하게 수련할 수 있도록 하였다. 5. 중국정부는 정부의 차원에서 ‘건신기공’을 국민의 건강증진과 보건의 일환으로 복지향상의 일환으로 보급하고 사회의 문명과 발전에 이바지하도록 추진하고 있다. 6. 중국정부는 ‘건신기공’을 중국문화의 중요한 요소로써 동양문화를 세계에 알리는 운동종목의 하나로 간주하여 백년의 이상과 위대한 비전을 향하여 정부의 차원에서 보급하고 세계화를 추진하고 있다. 7. 중국 ‘건신기공’은 국민들의 건강증진은 물로 세계인의 건강증진과 아울러 중국을 알리고 중국문화를 세계에 전파하고 중국과 세계 각국간의 교류와 협력에 크게 이바지할 것이다.
