In the context of the evolution of automation and intelligence, deep learning and machine learning algorithms have been widely applied in aquaculture in recent years, providing new opportunities for the digital realization of aquaculture. Especially, water quality management deserves attention thanks to its importance to food organisms. In this study, we proposed an end-to-end deep learning-based TabNet model for water quality prediction. From major indexes of water quality assessment, we applied novel deep learning techniques and machine learning algorithms in innovative fish aquaculture to predict the number of water cells counting. Furthermore, the application of deep learning in aquaculture is outlined, and the obtained results are analyzed. The experiment on in-house data showed an optimistic impact on the application of artificial intelligence in aquaculture, helping to reduce costs and time and increase efficiency in the farming process.

This study assessed the effects of oxygen and ozone nanobubbles on gill morphology, weight gain, and mortality of Pacific white shrimp (Penaeus vannamei), as well as the level of Vibrio parahaemolyticus and water quality of shrimp culture tanks under lab conditions. Two experiments were carried out with oxygen macrobubble, ozone macrobubble, oxygen nanobubble, ozone nanobubble, and control treatments (air-stone macrobubble). Experiments were done in triplicate in 100 L tanks with 15‰ saline water, and 20 shrimp per tank. Tanks in Experiment 1 were not inoculated with bacteria; tanks in Experiment 2 were inoculated with V. parahaemolyticus at a concentration of 106 CFU/mL. The results revealed that short treatments with ozone nanobubbles had minimal impact on shrimp gills, mortality, and growth rates, reduced V. parahaemolyticus concentration in water compared to the other groups, and improve water quality. These laboratory results indicate that ozone nanobubble treatment may be useful for controlling V. parahaemolyticus. More work is needed to find the best protocol to apply the technology on a commercial scale.

In-hospital cardiac arrest is a significant problem for medical systems. Although the traditional early warning systems have been widely applied, they still contain many drawbacks, such as the high false warning rate and low sensitivity. This paper proposed a strategy that involves a deep learning approach based on a novel interpretable deep tabular data learning architecture, named TabNet, for the Rapid Response System. This study has been processed and validated on a dataset collected from two hospitals of Chonnam National University, Korea, in over 10 years. The learning metrics used for the experiment are the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve score (AUROC) and the area under the precision-recall curve score (AUPRC). The experiment on a large real-time dataset shows that our method improves compared to other machine learning-based approaches.
Preferences for Sex of Children of Couples in Vietnam’s Urban Society: Signs of Transformation
Ha Trong Nghia,Nguyen Thi Hong Xoan 부경대학교 글로벌지역학연구소 2023 Journal of Global and Area Studies(JGA) Vol.7 No.2
This article examines the shifts in conceptions and behaviors pertaining to patterns of sex preferences among families living in HCMC, Vietnam. It utilizes survey methods, including questionnaires and in-depth interviews, with a sample size of 657 cases. The study’s findings reveal that, although couples still desire a balanced mix of sons and daughters, parents, particularly mothers, exhibit a more egalitarian perspective on the sex of their children compared to previous generations. Couples now perceive the sex of their forthcoming child as equally significant and prioritize the emotional value of their children over the economic worth. Notably, the gender of the last child and the mother’s level of educational emerged as significant in determining child sex preferences. Mothers with a college degree or higher tend to hold more equal views regarding the sexes of their children, regardless of whether they are sons, daughters, or exclusively daughters.
Autonomous Offshore Container Crane System Using a Fuzzy-PD Logic Controller
Ngo Phong Nguyen,Trong Nghia Phan,Quang Hieu Ngo 제어로봇시스템학회 2016 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2016 No.10
A Fuzzy-PD control strategy for an offshore container crane is investigated in this study. The offshore crane is used to handle containers between a mega container ship (called the “mother ship”) and a smaller ship (called the “mobile harbor”), which is equipped with container crane. The concept of the mobile harbor is a floating form that has the capability of transferring cargo to the local harbor from a large ship that is anchored in a nearby sea, thereby minimizing the port congestion and also eliminating the need of expanding outwards. The control objective during the loading and unloading process is to keep the payload in the desired region in the presence of ship motions. A new control strategy which is a combination of a Fuzzy controller, PD controller and compensation mechanism, is proposed as well. A Fuzzy controller plays a main role in creating the appropriate voltage, based on the dynamics and knowledge of an experienced designer, for guarantees not only prompt suppression of load swing but also accurate control of container crane position. In addition, a classical PD controller is used to tune the value of state variables into suitable range before becoming the inputs of the fuzzification process. This control scheme guarantees the stability of the closed-loop system. Simulation and experimental results are provided to verify the effectiveness of the proposed control system for offshore container cranes.
Critical Factors Affecting Selection of Travel Destinations: A Case Study in Vietnam
Thanh Phong TRAN,Trong Nghia PHAN,Hoang Thinh NGUYEN 한국유통과학회 2021 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.8 No.9
This study is conducted to fill the research gap in proposing and testing the relationship between “Attitudes about the overall image of the destination”, “Subjective norms” and “Perceived behavioral control”. Simultaneously, we examine the relationship between these variables and tourists’ “intent to choose a destination.”. While most previous studies only deal with the relationship between destination image and intended behavior of tourists, this study uses the theory of planned behavior (Ajzen, 1991) to explain the intended behavior of tourists. In addition, the Theory of Destination Image (Echtner & Ritchie, 1991) is used to explain the factor “attitudes about the overall image of the destination”, contribute to supplementing and perfecting the Theory of Planned Behavior. This study uses a Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to analyze a sample of 993 observations, the subjects of which are international tourists to Vietnam, to test the relationship between second-order constructs. The test results show that “Subjective norms” and “Perceived behavioral control” have an impact on “Attitudes about the overall image of the destination”. Moreover, all these three factors have an impact on “Intent to choose destination”, in which the factor “Perceived behavioral control” has the greatest impact on “intention to choose destination”.
