      • All-trans-retinoic Acid Promotes Iodine Uptake Via Up-regulating the Sodium Iodide Symporter in Medullary Thyroid Cancer Stem Cells

        Recently, the main therapy of medullary thyroid cancer (MTC) is surgical, but by which way there is a poor prognosis with a mean survival of only 5 years. In some cases, some researchers found that it is the medullary thyroid cancer stem cells (MTCSCs) that cause metastasis and recurrence. This study aimed to eradicate MTCSCs through administration of all-trans-retinoic acid (ATRA). Here we demonstrate that MTCSCs possess stemlike properties in serum-free medium. The ABCG2, OCT4 and sodium iodide symporter (NIS) were changed by ATRA. Additionally, we found that ATRA can increase the expression of NIS in vivo. All the data suggested that ATRA could increase the iodine uptake of MTCSCs through NIS.

      • Price Learning Based Load Distribution Strategies for Demand Response Management in Smart Grid

        In this paper, a Price learning based Load Distribution Strategy (PLDS) is proposed at first. In PLDS model, Smart Power Service, Utility Company and History Load Curves are included, and by considering both the average electricity consumption cost and the average electricity consumption habit, we proposed a convex optimization model to solve the model. In order to accelerate the convergence of PLDS, a price learning mechanism is proposed, which learns a price curve according to the history price data, and predicts price as a learned price for the next iteration. The optimization cycle of PLDS is one day or 24 hours, and in order to further improve the peak shaving performance, an extended version of PLDS named PLRS (Price learning based Load Redistribution Strategy) is proposed, whose optimization cycle length is 1 hour. The optimization models of PLDS and PLRS are the same, and the differences between them are the optimization cycle and the constraint conditions. In the simulation, we compared the convergence performance, peaking shaving performance and total cost among PLDS, PLRS and other strategy ODC in reference [11], and we found that the convergence performances of PLDS and PLRS are both better than that of ODC. The peak shaving performance of PLRS is better than that of ODC in the long term, and the total cost of PLRS is very close to that of ODC.

      • Data Mining Algorithm and the Effectiveness of Mathematics Classroom Teaching based on Support Vector Machine

        With the rapid development of big data, cloud computing, the size of the computer processing data is huge. Data mining is the process of revealing a new relationship, trend and pattern by a careful analysis of a large number of data. In this paper, the author analyzes data mining algorithm and the effectiveness of mathematics classroom teaching based on support vector machine. Through data analysis, the results show that teachers are more inclined to teach and ask questions, while students prefer to explore cooperative learning methods. In the process of classroom teaching, teachers should arouse students' enthusiasm and initiative, and further improve the efficiency of classroom teaching.

        CircZNF609 Aggravated Myocardial Ischemia Reperfusion Injury via Mediation of miR-214-3p/PTGS2 Axis

        Background and Objectives: Circular RNAs were known to play vital role in myocardial ischemia reperfusion injury (MIRI), while the role of CircZNF609 in MIRI remains unclear. This study was aimed to investigate the function of CircZNF609 in MIRI. Methods: Hypoxia/reoxygenation (H/R) model was established to mimic MIRI in vitro. Quantitative polymerase chain reaction was performed to evaluate gene transcripts. Cellular localization of CircZNF609 and miR-214-3p were visualized by fluorescence in situ hybridization. Cell proliferation was determined by CCK-8. TUNEL assay and flow cytometry were applied to detect apoptosis. Lactate dehydrogenase was determined by commercial kit. ROS was detected by DCFH-DA probe. Direct interaction of indicated molecules was determined by RIP and dual luciferase assays. Western blot was used to quantify protein levels. In vivo model was established to further test the function of CircZNF609 in MIRI. Results: CircZNF609 was upregulated in H/R model. Inhibition of CircZNF609 alleviated H/R induced apoptosis, ROS generation, restored cell proliferation in cardiomyocytes and human umbilical vein endothelial cells. Mechanically, CircZNF609 directly sponged miR-214-3p to release PTGS2 expression. Functional rescue experiments showed that miR-214-3p/PTGS2 axis was involved in the function of circZNG609 in H/R model. Furthermore, data in mouse model revealed that knockdown of CircZNF609 significantly reduced the area of myocardial infarction and decreased myocardial cell apoptosis. Conclusions: CircZNF609 aggravated the progression of MIRI via targeting miR-214-3p/PTGS2 axis, which suggested CircZNF609 might act as a vital modulator in MIRI.

        Regeneration of commercial SCR catalyst deactivated by arsenic poisoning in coal-fired power plants

        Arsenic species, which are inevitable components in flue gas from the coal combustion process, will result in severe deactivation of selective catalytic reduction (SCR) catalysts. In this paper, a novel method is proposed to regenerate the arsenic-poisoned commercial V2O5-MoO3/TiO2 catalyst collected from coal-fired power plants, including ammonia washing, H2 reduction, and air calcination. Activity tests indicated that the proposed method could recover the catalyst activity more than 96% of the fresh catalyst. Furthermore, detailed characterizations results indicated that this regeneration method could not only effectively remove the arsenic species, but also recover the active constituents of the catalysts to a considerable level. The proposed method offers a feasible strategy for the regeneration of poisoned commercial SCR catalysts and can effectively reduce the total denitrification cost for coal-fired power plants.

      • Enhanced Antitumor Effect of Curcumin Liposomes with Local Hyperthermia in the LL/2 Model

        Curcumin previously was proven to inhibit angiogenesis and display potent antitumor activity in vivo and in vitro. In the present study, we investigated whether a combination curcumin with hyperthermia would have a synergistic antitumor effect in the LL/2 model. The results indicated that combination therapy significantly inhibited cell proliferation of MS-1 and LL/2 in vitro. LL/2 experiment model also demonstrated that the combination therapy inhibited tumor growth and prolonged the life span in vivo. Furthermore, combination therapy reduced angiogenesis and increased tumor apoptosis. Our findings suggest that the combination therapy exerted synergistic antitumor effects, providing a new perspective fpr clinical tumor therapy.

        Composition and Antioxidant Activity of Water-Soluble Polysaccharides from Tuber indicum

        Crude water-soluble Chinese truffle Tuber indicum polysaccharide (TIP) was extracted from the fruiting bodies with water and then successively purified by DEAE–cellulose 52 and Sephadex G-100 column chromatography,yielding two major polysaccharide fractions: TIP1-1 and TIP2-1. High-performance gel permeation chromatography analysis showed that the average molecular sizes of TIP1-1 and TIP2-1 were approximately 1.75×10⁴Da and 5.73×10³ Da, respectively. Monosaccharide component analysis by gas chromatography indicated that TIP1-1 was composed of mannose,glucose, galactose, and rhamannose in the respective molar ratio of 3.93:1.24:0.75:1.26 and that TIP2-1 contained mannose,glucose, and arabinose in the respective molar ratio of 5.27:1.44:0.43. The antioxidant activity analyses revealed that TIP1-1and TIP2-1 possessed considerable antioxidant activity. Compared with TIP1-1, which has a higher molecular weight and contains no uronic acid, TIP2-1 exhibited a protective effect on PC12 cells injured by H₂O₂and a higher scavenging activity against free radicals. The relative effects of the lower molecular size, the presence of uronic acid, and the antioxidant activity of TIP2-1 appear to be significant. Accordingly, the Chinese truffle T. indicum might serve as an effective antioxidative healthcare food and source of natural antioxidants.

        CORROSION BEHAVIOR OF NI-BASE ALLOYS IN SUPERCRITICAL WATER

        Corrosion of nickel-base alloys (Hastelloy C-276, Inconel 625, and Inconel X-750) in 500 °C, 25 MPa supercritical water (with 10 wppb oxygen) was investigated to evaluate the suitability of these alloys for use in supercritical water reactors. Oxide scales formed on the samples were characterized by gravimetry, scanning electron microscopy/energy dispersive spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The results indicate that, during the 1000 h exposure, a dense spinel oxide layer, mainly consisting of a fine Cr-rich inner layer (NiCr2O4) underneath a coarse Fe-rich outer layer (NiFe2O4), developed on each alloy. Besides general corrosion, nodular corrosion occurred on alloy 625 possibly resulting from local attack of ” clusters in the matrix. The mass gains for all alloys were small, while alloy X-750 exhibited the highest oxidation rate, probably due to the absence of Mo.

        Effects of concentrated rigid inclusions defects on the in-plane impact behavior of hexagonal honeycombs

        Hexagonal honeycombs have exhibited significant advantages in energy absorption and they are increasingly used as absorbers under crush conditions. The in-plane crushing process of imperfect hexagonal honeycombs with concentrated rigid inclusions defects is simulated using finite element simulations. In each case, a constant velocity is applied to an impact plate which then crushed the honeycomb. Simulation results indicate that the defect location has a great influence on the deformation modes, especially at low and moderate velocity. After analyzing the apparent reflection about dynamic response at the impact end, the respective influences of local fraction of inclusions and foil thickness (relative density) on the crushing plateau stress on account of the crushing velocity are further discussed. Furthermore, the energy absorption capacity under constant velocity loading is studied. Due to the distribution of the concentrated rigid inclusions defects, the energy absorption can be controlled effectively.

        United Electromagnetic Characteristics and Online Monitoring Method of Static Air-gap Eccentricity of Turbo-Generator

        The purpose of this paper is to investigate the united Electromagnetic characteristics for the effective monitoring on the static air-gap eccentricity (SAGE) of turbo-generator. Different from other studies, this paper not only studies on the unbalanced magnetic pull (UMP) and the vibration characteristics of the stator and the rotor, but also investigates the harmonic features of the magnetic flux density and the circulating current inside the parallel branches (CCPB). The theoretical calculation, together with the finite-element-method (FEM) simulation and the experiment verification, is taken for a SDF-9 type non-salient generator. It is shown that, when SAGE occurs, apparent double-frequency UMP and vibrations will be produced both on the stator and the rotor, while the CCPB will have an obvious increment at the $1^{st}$ harmonic component. In addition, the amplitude of the magnetic flux density will be of cosine distribution in the circumferential position of the air-gap, while in normal condition it is a constant. Moreover, the pass-band amplitude, together with the $1^{st}$ harmonic of the magnetic flux density, will be enlarged as well. These united electromagnetic characteristics can be used as the diagnosis and monitoring criterion for SAGE.
