野山開墾地의 經濟性作物 栽培를 위한 肥沃度增進에 관한 硏究
嚴大翼,金茂基 全北大學校 1976 論文集 Vol.18 No.-
In a red-yellow acid soil of Yesan Series in the reclaimed hilly area of the Honam district some fertility experiments for red-pepper cultivation were conducted. The pH was remarkably increased in the surface soil of the slaked lime treated plots; the phosphorus level was highest in the plots whose phosphorus absorption coefficient was controlled to 10%, while the phosphorus absorption coefficient was lowest; the organic matter content was highest in the compost treated plots; the lime requirement was lowest in the slaked lime treated plots. The plots of all treatments showed the same tendency, but in a less degree, in the improvement of fertility as the other plots of each treatment. However, the increment of exchangeable bases and C.E.C. was highest in the plots of all treatments, which showed the highest Fertility. The yield pattern well reflected the improvement of fertility from each treatment. Thus the plots of all treatments produced the highest yield, and the yields of the other plots decreased in the following order of arrangement: the plots whose phosphorus absorption coefficient was controlled to 10%, the compost treated plots, the slaked lime treated plots, the rice straw ash treated plots, and the N-P-K treated plots. Economic analysis showed income increased according to the improvement of fertility from each treatment, and mulching treatments increased income more than nonmulching treatments. On the whole income from the plots of all treatments was highest. The yield from the plots of all treatments increased by 25% as compared to that from upland soils of high fertility.
Growth-Inhibiting Effects of Vegetable Extracts on Beneficial and Harmful Human Intestinal Bacteria
Kim, Moo-Key,Kim, Min-Jeong,Shin, Dong-Hwa,Song, Chul-Gyu,Lee, Hoi-Seon 한국응용생명화학회 2001 Journal of Applied Biological Chemistry (J. Appl. Vol.44 No.2
Ethanol extracts of 38 vegetables were subjected to an in vitro screening for their growth-inhibitory activities towards Bifidobacterium bifidum, B. longum, Clostridium perfringens, Lactobacillus acidophilus, L. casei, and Escherichia coli using paper disc agar diffusion methods under anaerobic conditions. The responses varied with both bacterial strain and vegetable species. In a test with 20 mg/disc, Zingiber officinale extracts showed significant growth-inhibitory responses against B. bifidum, and strong inhibitions against L. casei were detected in the extracts of Chrysanthemum coronarium var. spatiosum and Lactuca sativa. The extracts of Allium sativum, Capsicum annuum, L. esculentum, L. esculentum var. cerasiforme, and Z. officinale showed strong inhibitory activities against C. perfringens, while moderate growth-inhibitory responses were observed in the extracts of C. ffutescens, Cucurbita moschata, Daucus carota var. sativa, and Rubus coreanus. However, all vegetable extracts showed no inhibitions against B. longum, L. acidophilus, and E. coli. In tests with 5 mg/disc, moderate inhibitions were observed in the extracts of C. coronarium var. spatiosum and L. sativa against L. casei and Z. officinale against B. bifidum. Vegetables extracts, except for C. coronarium var. spatiosum, L. sativa, and Z. officinale, did not affect the growth of beneficial bacteria. Strong inhibitory responses against C. perfringens were detected in the extracts of C. annuum and L. esculentum var. cerasiforme. Daily intake of vegetables may be important in the prevention of human diseases caused by the intestinal bacteria.
Growth-Inhibiting Effects of Herb Plants on Human Intestinal Bacteria
Kim, Moo-Key,Park, Byeoung-Soo,Kim, Byung-Su,Lee, Hoi-Seon 한국응용생명화학회 2001 Journal of Applied Biological Chemistry (J. Appl. Vol.44 No.4
Essential oils of 21 herb plant samples, using spectrophotometric and paper disc agar diffusion methods under anaerobic conditions, were tested in vitro for their growth-inhibiting activities against Bifidobacterium bifidum, B. longum, Lactobacillus casei, Clostridium perfringens, and Escherichia coli. The responses varied with bacterial strains and plant oils. At 10 mg/disk, all essential oils did not inhibit beneficial intestinal bacteria, except for the oil of Alpinia officinarum and Melaleuca alternifolia against L. casei. Due to their strong growth-inhibitory activities against C. perfringens, E. coli, and L. casei, the activites of nine oils were evaluated at low concentrations. In test with C. perfringens at 1 mg/disk, the oils of Amyris balsamifera, Curcuma longa, M. alternifolia, and Trachyspermum ammi showed moderate activities. Moderate activities against E. coli were observed with the oils of M. alternifolia and T. ammi. These results may be indications of at least one of the pharmacological actions of the four herb plants.
Rat Intestinal α-Glucosidase Inhibitory Activities of Leguminous Seed Extracts
Kim, Min-Jeong,Ahn, Young-Joon,Kim, Moo-Key,Kim, Hye-Young,Lee, Hoi-Seon 한국응용생명화학회 2001 Journal of Applied Biological Chemistry (J. Appl. Vol.44 No.1
The methanol extracts of 25 leguminous seeds in vitro was evaluated for inhibitory activities against the small intestinal $\alpha$-glucosidase of Sprague Dawley male rats. The responses varied both with leguminous seed types and concentrations used. At the concentration of 0.5 mg/ml, the methanol extracts of Cassia obtusifolia, Glycine max var. yagkong, Glycine max var. hooktae, Glycine max var. geumdu, Glycine max var. mejukong, Glycine soja, Phaseolus multiflorus, Pisum sativum, and Vigna sinensis inhibited over 50% of the enzyme activity. The extracts of G. max var. yagkong and V. sinensis showed relatively strong inhibitory activities against $\alpha$-glucosidase at the concentration of 0.1 mg/ml. The activity of each solvent fraction from G. max var. yagkong and V. sinensis was determined, and potent activities were detected from chloroform and butanol fractions, respectively. $IC_{50}$ values of G. max var. yagkong and V. sinensis were 0.06 and 0.19 mg/ml, respectively. As a naturally occurring therapeutic agents, leguminous seeds examined could be useful for developing new types of antidiabetic agents.
