A plethora of paraneoplastic syndromes have been reported as remote effects of colorectal carcinoma (CRC). However, there is a dearth of data pertaining to the association of this cancer with demyelinating neuropathies. Herein, we describe the case of a young woman diagnosed with chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP). Treatment with intravenous immunoglobulins and prednisone did not improve her condition, and her neurological symptoms worsened. Subsequently, she was readmitted with exertional dyspnea, lightheadedness, malaise, and black stools. Colonoscopy revealed a necrotic mass in the ascending colon, which directly invaded the second part of the duodenum. Pathologic results confirmed the diagnosis of locally advanced CRC. Upon surgical resection of the cancer, her CIDP showed dramatic resolution without any additional therapy. Patients with CRC may develop CIDP as a type of paraneoplastic syndrome. Clinicians should remain cognizant of this potential association, as it is of paramount importance for the necessary holistic clinical management.
A Comparative Analysis on Machine Learning based Intelligent Forwarding Schemes in VNDN

Vehicular named data networks (VNDN) schemes use predefined routing information for communication rather than dynamic network information. Therefore, the researchers encourage to integrate the machine learning (ML) algorithms in VNDN for intelligent communication. In this paper, we have discussed the machine learning (ML) based vehicular named data network (VNDN) schemes for intelligent packet forwarding in highly dynamic topology. We have discussed the intelligent ML-VNDN forwarding schemes which take dynamic network information for interest/data forwarding to increase communication efficiency. Moreover, this article explains the comparative analysis between naïve VNDN schemes and ML-based NDN schemes, also discussed their future directions.
Reinforcement Learning-based UAVs Trajectory Control to assist VANETs

Intelligent transportation system (ITS) provides an efficient solution to road safety traffic. Enabling ITS requires connectivity among vehicles. However, dynamic vehicular net-works cause link disruption among vehicles. To overcome this, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are deployed to provide connectivity between vehicles that are beyond the communication range. UAVs act as a relay node in providing connectivity among vehicles. We propose multi-agent reinforcement learning to control the trajectory for the deployment of UAVs. Each UAV acts as an agent to find the optimal position, from where it can provide coverage to the maximum number of vehicles. The proposed scheme is expected to increase the packet delivery ratio (PDR) and throughput while reducing the end-to-end delay.

Hydrogels, composed of poly(acrylamide-potassium methacrylate), cross-linked with N,N"-methylene bis-acrylamide, and having different proportions of poly(ethylene glycol) were synthesized by a free radical copolymerization technique. The effect of the cross-linkage and poly(ethylene glycol) contents on swelling in water, diffusion kinetics of water in the hydrogel matrix, stimuli response to pH, ionic strength of the external solution, and capacity for chromium(III) and uranyl ions from polluted water samples were evaluated. The results show that the swelling in water decreased. Still, the diffusion rate of water in the copolymer matrix increased with an increase in the cross-linkage and an increase in the poly(ethylene glycol) amount under the conditions of this study. Poly(ethylene glycol) addition provided another tool to adjust the swelling, diffusion kinetics, and adsorption characteristics of the hydrogel. For example, poly(ethylene glycol) addition made the hydrogel adsorb uranyl ions from polluted water.
An Automated Object Retrieval System for Warehouses

The transport of objects in a warehouse is an indispensible but time consuming task, and is therefore the focus of extensive research. This paper presents a system that autonomously retrieves boxes placed in shelves according to the part number fed in the system by the user. The system utilizes a modified implementation of the A<SUP>*</SUP> algorithm to determine the shortest path for retrieving the objects. A maximum of three objects can be retrieved in one round by the robot. After retrieval, the objects are delivered to a delivery station. Line tracking sensors are used for robot navigation. Telescoping arms mounted on the robot are used to retrieve objects from the shelves. The guidance algorithm and Graphic User Interface (GUI) have been implemented using MATLAB® and the robot has been designed using SolidWorks®.
