Palm oil production is among the highest worldwide, and it has been mainly used in the food industry and other commodities. Currently, a lot of palm oil production has been destined for the synthesis of biodiesel; however, its use in applications other than the food industry has been questioned. Thereby for a sustainable development, in this paper the use of palm oil of low quality for corrosion inhibitors synthesis is proposed. The performance of the synthesized inhibitors was evaluated by using electrochemical techniques such as open circuit potential measurements, linear polarization resistance and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The results indicate that the fatty amides from palm oil are excellent corrosion inhibitors with protection efficiencies greater than 98%. Fatty amides molecules act as cathodic inhibitors decreasing the anodic dissolution of iron. When fatty amides are added, a rapid decrease in the corrosion rate occurs due to the rapid formation of a molecular film onto carbon steel surface. During the adsorption process of the inhibitor a self-organization of the hydrocarbon chains takes place forming a tightly packed hydrophobic film. These results demonstrate that the use of palm oil for the production of green inhibitors promises to be an excellent alternative for a sustainable use of the palm oil production.

A gram-positive, rod-shaped, spore-forming, motile thermophilic bacterium was isolated from a sterilization oven. The microorganism GWE1, formally named Geobacillus wiegelii identified as a member of the genus Geobacillus. GWE1 grew under aerobic conditions of between 60-80ºC (optimum 70ºC), in a pH range of 3.0-8.0 (optimum pH70ºC 5.8), and between 0 and 2 M NaCl (optimum 0.3 M). The membrane polar lipids were dominated by branched saturated fatty acids, which included as the major constituents; iso-15:0 (13.3%), 16:1(ω7) (12.8%), 16:0 (28.5%), iso-17:0 (13.5%) and anteiso-17:0 (12.3%). The DNA G+C content was 47.2 mol% (determined by HPLC). The 16S rRNA gene sequence of GWE1 showed a high similarity with Geobacillus caldoxylosilyticus (97%). However, the level of DNA?DNA relatedness was only 58%. These data suggest that GWE1 is probably a novel specie of the genus Geobacillus.

<P>Detailed measurements of the 2D mode structure of Alfvén instabilities in the current ramp-up phase of neutral beam heated discharges were performed on ASDEX Upgrade, using the electron cyclotron emission imaging (ECEI) diagnostic. This paper focuses on the observation of reversed shear Alfvén eigenmodes (RSAEs) and bursting modes that, with the use of the information from ECEI, have been identified as beta-induced Alfvén eigenmodes (BAEs). Both RSAEs with first and second radial harmonic mode structures were observed. Calculations with the linear gyro-kinetic code LIGKA revealed that the ratio of the damping rates and the frequency difference between the first and second harmonic modes strongly depended on the shape of the <I>q</I>-profile. The bursting character of the BAE type modes, which were radially localized to rational <I>q</I> surfaces, was observed to sensitively depend on the plasma parameters, ranging from strongly bursting to almost steady state.</P>

Our results confirm that HPV plays a major role in the development of cervical cancer and provide the scientific basis for setting up new preventive strategies using the HPV vaccines which are under development.

The in vitro metabolic fate of β-nicotyrine has been examined in rabbit lung and liver microsomal preparations as part of an effort to characterize the formation of potentially reactive metabolic species that may contribute to the toxic properties of tobacco products. HPLC analysis revealed the formation of an unstable metabolite which displayed HPLC-MS/MS characteristics consistent with the structure 1-methyl-5-(3-pyridyl)-3-pyrrolin-2-one. Attempted synthesis of this pyrrolinone, however, resulted in the isolation of the isomeric 1-methyl-5-(3-pyridyl)-2-pyrrolin-2-one. The HPLC, diode array UV, and mass spectral characteristics of this Δ^4,5-isomer proved to be identical with those of the metabolite derived from β-nicotyrine. Studies in D_2O suggest that the 2- and 3-pyrrolinones are in equilibrium in aqueous solution. The metabolite undergoes autoxidation, possible via radical intermediates, to yield 1-methyl-5-(3-pyridyl)-5-hydroxy-3-pyrrolin-2-one.
Genome-wide characterization of the routes to pluripotency

Somatic cell reprogramming to a pluripotent state continues to challenge many of our assumptions about cellular specification, and despite major efforts, we lack a complete molecular characterization of the reprograming process. To address this gap in knowledge, we generated extensive transcriptomic, epigenomic and proteomic data sets describing the reprogramming routes leading from mouse embryonic fibroblasts to induced pluripotency. Through integrative analysis, we reveal that cells transition through distinct gene expression and epigenetic signatures and bifurcate towards reprogramming transgene-dependent and -independent stable pluripotent states. Early transcriptional events, driven by high levels of reprogramming transcription factor expression, are associated with widespread loss of histone H3 lysine 27 (H3K27me3) trimethylation, representing a general opening of the chromatin state. Maintenance of high transgene levels leads to re-acquisition of H3K27me3 and a stable pluripotent state that is alternative to the embryonic stem cell (ESC)-like fate. Lowering transgene levels at an intermediate phase, however, guides the process to the acquisition of ESC-like chromatin and DNA methylation signature. 도시생활폐기물에 침출수 농축 주입 : 그에 따른 생화학적 현상과 실제적인 결과

물리화학적 농죽과정에 의한 짐줄수 처리는, 처리되어야 하는 농죽된 짐줄수를 발생시킨다. 도시생활 폐기물에 침출수를 주입하는 방법이 종종 제안되어져 왔다. 파일럿규모의 연구를 통해, 주입된 침출수 농도에 의한 오염부하가 회복된다는 것을 관찰하였다. 또한, 대조군과 비교하여, 실험 장치내에서 안정적인 메탄생성균의 활동이 늦어진다는 것을 관찰하였다. 200일 이상 운전된 대조실험장치의 침출수내에 생존하는 미생물은 상당히 낮게 존재하는 것으로 나타났고, 이는 미생물 활성에 저해 효과를 유발했음을 알 수 있다. 실험결과를 통해, 침출수 농축주입이 수행되는 full-scale 매립 셀에 대해서도 확인하였다. 폐기물 분해과정에 대한 적합성을 평가하기 위해, 침출수의 특성은, 주입되기 전에, 측정되어져야 함을 알 수 있었다. Purpose: This research presents a bibliometric analysis of the main advertising trends used as a means of investigation in the business area. This article identifies leading journals and provides a collaborative network researcher for future use in the generation of knowledge. Design/Methodology/Approach: This study examines 4,449 publications from the Web of Science Core Collection database for the 1992–2016 period. The authors analyze bibliometric indicators including the number of publications and citations, the citations per paper, five-year period analysis (quinquennial), h-index, citation thresholds and co-occurrence of authors keywords analysis. It develops bibliographical coupling and co-citations analysis by using the visualization of similarities Viewer Software. Findings: Results show a growing trend in the number of advertising ´s publications. The Journal of Advertising has been the most cited and the Journal of Advertising Research has the largest number of papers. In regards to the h-index, the three most relevant journals in advertising are Journal of Advertising, Journal of Advertising Research, and the International Journal of Advertising. Originality: This article is the first one that contributes with a complete overview of the field of advertising research as a mean of investigation, in a 25-year period. Especially from the business scientific research area through bibliometric indicators, journal rankings, content, citations, and bibliographic coupling, cocitations, and keywords analysis.
