Exploring the Difference in Acceptance of Smart Work among Levels of Leadership Styles
Kiho Park 한국데이타베이스학회 2013 Journal of information technology applications & m Vol.20 No.4
According to the development of smart technologies such as smart phones, tablet PC, and SNS communication, the necessity of smart work that can change the working environments in organizations has been emphasized. However, while there are many organizations that wish to adopt smart technologies, there are those that have been skeptical until now about its potential success. Leaders may especially have different viewpoints concerning the efficacy and effectiveness of smart work depending on the industries, characteristics of the work, etc. Therefore, this research looks to investigate whether there may be differences between leaders (manager, project manager, supervisor, etc.) and non-leaders (team member, staff, etc.) group in accepting smart working through empirical and exploratory approaches.

Many organizations have had deep interests in studies concerning leadership and in academic areas, in not only management but also psychology. Until now, leadership has been accentuated by managers or team leaders especially. Recently, however, the concept of self-leadership directing one's own activities through self-control or self-management is being focused on practices and in academia. This study is to investigate the influence between self-leadership strategies and learning performance in IT classes mediated by attitude of attendance focused on the social science students in a university. Research results can give us direction of task-taking attitudes in firms or learning attitudes in teaching organizations and implications to human resource managers who are in charge of improving learning performance or productivity.

The Causal Relationship between the Acceptance Attitudes and the Expected Effects of Smart Work
Park, Kiho Korea Data Strategy Society 2014 Journal of information technology applications & m Vol.21 No.1
This paper explores the causal relationship between acceptance attitudes and expected effects of smart work. With the rapid development of smart technologies, lots of organizations try to innovate in the conventional working styles for maximizing organizational effectiveness and efficiency. Although many organizations wish to foster smart working environment, they don't have confidence in detailed action plans and effects from it. Therefore, this study that explores the causal relationship between acceptance attitudes and effects may have crucial meaning to organizations pursuing smart work. In this research empirically conducted by questionnaire survey, the acceptance attitudes as predictors and the expected effects of smart work as influenced variables were used. This research analyzed 118 collected data and multiple regression analysis. As a result of analysis, teleworking shows the positive relations to all of dependent variables. And others have a positive or negative influence on effects of smart work. Results of this study may give implications to organizations that want to implement smart work environment.
Identification of Novel Mutations in Adenosine Deaminase Gene in Korean Leukemia Patients
Kiho Park(박기호) 한국생명과학회 2010 생명과학회지 Vol.20 No.3
Leukemia is the abnormal increase of hematopoietic progenitor cells in tissues, resulting in anemia, increased susceptibility to infection and impaired blood clotting. The adenosine deaminase (ADA) gene is an important druggable target for the treatment of leukemia patients. Genetic and molecular analyses were performed to determine the effects of ADA gene mutations in 20 leukemia patients in the Korean population. To analyze the relationship between genotype and phenotype, the ADA genomic DNAs - including 1,092 bp of 12 exons and partial intron sequences flanking each exon - were sequenced and compared. In this study, the known mutations in other diseases, more than 50 mutations already reported in patients with severe combined immunodeficiency disease (SCID) and autism, were not found, but two novel mutations in leukemia patients were discovered. They include one nonsense mutation (A>C at nt position 478, F101F) and one missense mutation (G>A at nt position 778, E260K). One missense mutation (G>A at nt position 22, D8Y) was also detected in 20 normal control patients (allelic frequency of 7.5%). Interestingly, subjects in the Korean population retained 2 bp insertion at the intron 6 (IVS6-52insGC), something that has never been shown in other populations. The genetic study to find out the correlation between the mutant alleles and leukemia patients revealed no association statistically (p>0.05). The mutation found in leukemia needs further study to determine its possibility as a molecular marker for the diagnosis of leukemia.

Based on the theory of authentic leadership and organizational support theory, this study examined the effects of authentic leadership on employees'attitudes and behaviors such as job satisfaction, organizational citizenship behavior (OCB), affective commitment, and turnover intention. Especially, this study focused on the mediating role of perceived supervisor support (PSS). Using data from 433 respondents in several business organizations, we found that PSS completely mediated all the relationship between authentic leadership and followers'attitudes and behaviors: job satisfaction, organizational citizenship behavior (OCB), affective commitment, and turnover intention. Drawing from these results, managerial implications and future research directions are discussed.
