The purpose of this paper is to design a PID controller for effective position control of hydraulic cylinder using MATLAB/SIMULINK. The hydraulic system consist of a hydraulic pressure source, a hydraulic servo valve, a double-acting hydraulic cylinder, a force sensor, a translational motion sensor, a load system, control logic. The simulation models were verified by comparing the error between input data and output data.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Aptamers have recently emerged as reliable and promising targeting agents in the field of biology. However, their therapeutic potential has yet to be completely assessed due to their poor pharmacokinetics for systemic administration. Here, we describe a novel aptamer-antibody complex, designated an “oligobody” (<U>oligo</U>mer+anti<U>body</U>) that may overcome the therapeutic limitations of aptamers. To provide proof-of-principle study, we investigated the druggability of oligobody <I>in vivo</I> using cotinine conjugated t44-OMe aptamer, which is specific for the sequence of pegaptanib, and an anti-cotinine antibody. The antibody part of oligobody resulted in extended <I>in vivo</I> pharmacokinetics of the aptamer without influencing its binding affinity. Moreover, the aptamer of oligobody penetrated deeply into the tumor tissues whereas the anti-VEGF antibody did not. Finally, the systemic administration of this oligobody reduced the tumor burden in a xenograft mouse model. Together, these results suggested that our oligobody strategy may represent a novel platform for rapid, low-cost and high-throughput cancer therapy.</P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P> <B>Aptamer-antibody hybrid complex</B>: Because the oligobody requires only a single antibody and utilizes a simple antigen–antibody reaction, it could offer the benefits of aptamers and antibodies, and may be a potentially valuable tool for cancer therapeutics.</P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>

<P>A new concept of device structure that can selectively change the injection carrier type through a thin energy band engineering layer is proposed and demonstrated using the device simulation. As an example, the structure is applied to achieve the n-type field-effect transistor using carbon nanotube network (CNN). Tin oxide (SnO2) layer placed between an Au electrode and a CNN channel is used as an energy band engineering layer for enhancing an electron injection. By just adding the band engineering layer in the conventional p-type device, the n-type characteristics with -40 to +40 V bottom gate sweep is successfully demonstrated experimentally without other manipulations.</P>

Microplastics (MPs) have been recently recognized as a global environmental threat and its exposure as a risk factor to human health. Health effects through MPs exposure have been recently reported, whereas not much evaluation on immunotoxicity of MP has been reported. The present study was designed to evaluate whether polyethylene MPs (PE-MPs) subacute exposure through intragastric intubation could be immunotoxic to ICR mice. PEs with 5 or 50 μm diameter were administered to 6 wk old female and male mice at 0 (distilled water, vehicle control), 500 (low), and 1000 (middle), or 2000 (high) mg/day for 4 wks. No influence of the exposure on thymic T lymphocyte development was observed due to no difference in thymic lymphocyte subpopulation through flow cytometer analysis among the groups. Proportions of splenic CD4(+) and B lymphocyte were higher without statistical significances in the exposure groups than the vehicle control regardless of dose and gender. Serum IgG2a:IgG1 ratio was dose-dependently elevated in the male and female 5 μm PE exposure group, which pattern was not observed with 50 μm exposure group. Furthermore, ratios of IFN-gamma:IL-4, a parameter for predicting balance between type-1 and type-2 immune reactivity in helper T lymphocytes stimulated ex vivo with phytohemagglutinin for 48h, were higher in the male 5 μm PE exposure group than the control, but not observed in the female 5 μm and the 50 μm exposure group of both genders. Overall, the present study indicates that exposure to PE-MPs could alter immune homeostasis, especially to smaller size of MPs. Investigation on size-dependent and plastic type-related immune modulation should be advanced. Pueraria montana var. lobata Root Extract Inhibits Photoaging on Skin through Nrf2 Pathway
( Hee Sun Heo ),( Ga Eun Han ),( Junho Won ),( Yeonoh Cho ),( Hyeran Woo ),( Jong Hun Lee ) 한국미생물생명공학회(구 한국산업미생물학회) 2019 Journal of microbiology and biotechnology Vol.29 No.4
Pueraria montana var. lobata is a bioactive substance with various beneficial health effects and has long been extensively used as a traditional medication for the treatment of fever, acute dysentery, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases in Northeast Asian countries. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the cytoprotective activity of Pueraria montana var. lobata ethanol extract (PLE) for ultraviolet B (UVB)-induced oxidative stress in human dermal fibroblasts (HDF). It was hypothesized that PLE treatment (25-100 μg/ml) would reduce intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels as well as increase collagen production in UVB-irradiated HDF. The results confirmed this theory, with collagen production increasing in the PLE treatment group in a dose-dependent manner. In addition, regulators of cellular ROS accumulation, including HO-1 and NOQ-1, were activated by Nrf2, which was mediated by PLE. Hence, intracellular levels of ROS were also reduced in the PLE treatment group in a dose-dependent manner. In conclusion, PLE increases collagen production and maintains hyaluronic acid (HA) levels in human dermal fibroblasts exposed to UVB-irradiation, thereby inhibiting photoaging.
