DNA translocation through a nanopore in an ultrathin self-assembled peptide membrane

<P>Here, we explore the possibility of using peptide-based materials as a membrane in solid-state nanopore devices in an effort to develop a sequence-specific, programmable biological membrane platform. We use a recently developed tyrosine-mediated self-assembly peptide sheet. At the air/water interface, the 5mer peptide YFCFY self-assembles into a uniform and robust two-dimensional (2D) structure, and the peptide sheet is easily transferred to a low-noise glass substrate. The thickness of the peptide membrane can be adjusted to approximately 5 nm (or even to 2 nm) by an etching process, and the diameters of the peptide nanopores can be precisely controlled using a focused electron beam with an attuned spot size. The ionic current noise of the peptide nanopore is comparable to those of typical silicon nitride nanopores or multilayer 2D materials. Using this membrane, we successfully observe translocation of 1000 bp double-stranded DNA with a sufficient signal-to-noise ratio of ∼30 and an elongated translocation speed of ∼1 bp <I>μ</I>s<SUP>−1</SUP>. Our results suggest that the self-assembled peptide film can be used as a sensitive nanopore membrane and employed as a platform for applying biological functionalities to solid-state substrates.</P>

대공화기사격통제장치에서 유효사거리는 정지한 표적에 대해 충분한 파괴력을 가질 수 있도록 탄속이 음속 이상을 유지하는 거리로 정의되고 있다. 접근하는 표적은 탄과 표적 간 상대속도가 증가하므로 실질적인 교전 사거리는 위의 유효사거리보다 더욱 연장된다. 그러나 기존에 제시된 TOF 계산식은 유효사거리 내에서만 정확하고 유효사거리를 벗어나면 정확하지 못하다. 본 논문은 교전사거리를 보장할 수있도록 유효사거리 내에서와 유효사거리 밖에서도 충분한 정확도를 가진 실시간 처리가 가능한 탄자비행시간 계산 기법을 제시한다. 시뮬레이션을 통해 30미리 대공 탄에 대한 본 논문의 유용성을 보인다. In AAGFCS the effective range is regarded as a range for the bullet``s speed exceeding the speed of sound to damage the stationary target. Hence the real engagement range might be extended over the effective range for the approaching target since bullet``s relative speed to the target increases depending on the approaching speed. However previous TOF equations have good computation accuracy within the effective range only, and they can not be used above that range due to their bad accuracy. We propose an accurate TOF computation method which can be used both within and above the effective range in real time. Some simulation results are shown to demonstrate usefulness of our algorithm for the 30mm projectile.
인터넷전문은행 서비스의 한중 비교연구: 서비스의 편리성과 사회적 영향 요인을 중심으로

Purpose The purpose of the present study is to analyze the factors influencing the intention to use direct bank continuously from the perspective of service rather than technology. Hygiene factors including economic benefits, privacy, and unverified risks, and convenience of service as a motivator were considered as user’s satisfaction. A research model integrating the relationships among user’s satisfaction, its determinants, social influence, and continuous intention to use direct banks was proposed. Design/methodology/approach Structural equation modelling for validating the research model was employed. 253 valid data were collected from users of direct bank service in South Korea and China, and used to test six hypotheses. Findings User’s satisfaction and social influence were determinants of continuous use intention of direct bank. Convenience of service as a motivator has a significant influence on service satisfaction, while economic benefits, privacy, and unverified risks as hygiene factors have no significant influence on the continuous intention. Managers of direct banks need to implement service differentiation strategies to gain customers’ loyalty. Also they seek to find the determinants of social influence. The present study confirmed that there is a big difference between Korea and China in terms of factors affecting the continuous intention to use direct bank.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to compare the effect of ball kicking dual task gait training with the addition of a cognitive task with general treadmill gait training (TGT) on gait speed, gait endurance, functional gait, balance and balance confidence in patients with chronic hemiparetic stroke. Design: Randomized controlled trial. Methods: Fourteen stroke patients who volunteered to participate in this study were randomly divided into two groups with seven patients in each group: ball kicking dual task training (DTT) group and TGT group. The DTT group received ball kicking DTT with cognitive tasks consisted of three stages and the TGT group received TGT using normal walking speed, respectively, for 30 minutes per day 3 days per week for 4 weeks. Outcome assessments were made with the 10-meter walking test (10MWT), 6-minute walking test (6MWT), functional gait assessment (FGA), Berg balance scale (BBS), timed up and go test (TUG), and the activities- specific balance confidence (ABC) scale. Results: The DTT group showed more significant improvement in the 10MWT, 6MWT, FGA, BBS, TUG, and ABC than the TGT group (p<0.05). In addition, within groups comparison showed significant improvement in all variables (p<0.05). Conclusions: The findings suggest that both ball kicking dual task gait training and TGT improve gait performance and balance in patients with chronic hemiparetic stroke. However, ball kicking dual task gait training results showed more favorable outcomes than TGT for chronic hemiparetic stoke patients.
