Diabetic microangiopathy is a major contributing cause of mortality in patients with diabetes. Despite of conventional therapy to improve hyperglycemia and to control blood pressure, the incidence of diabetic nephropathy is reaching epidemic proportions world wide. Transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) has been implicated in the pathogenesis of a number of kidney diseases characterized by glomerulosclerosis and tubulointerstitial fibrosis. TGF-β-inducible gene-h3(βig-h3) is a kind of recently identified TGF-β induced gene products. TGF-β is secreted in a latent form and requiring extracellular modification to become biologically active. In vitro, exposure of proximal tubular cells to high glucose concentrations leads to increased TGF-β1 and collagen expansion as it does in mesangial cells. Biologically active form of TGF-β plays a pathogenetic role in diabetic renal disease and βig-h3 may be a useful index of TGF-β1 bioactivity in the kidney. Level of beta2-microglobulin is useful as a parameter to detect the degree of tubular injury and alterations in tubular handling of proteins in patients with proreinuria and glomerular diseases. We measure blood and urine concentrations of TGF-β in diabetic microangiopathy patient. Since there is a substantial evidence for a cause and effect relatioship between upregulation of TGF-β and the progression of diabetic kidney disease, future studies will be needed to establish specific targets along these pathyways at which to intervene.
Investigation on Electrostatic Atomization and Charged Spray Characteristics of Fuel

Due to many advantages, electrostatic atomization would be more application potential in the filed of combustion, especially in improving efficiency and decrease emission pollutant. Based on the analysis of fluids charging mechanism, an effective charging equipment for fuel was designed and the charging characteristics of kerosene was obtained and analyzed through experiments in this paper. A kind of electrostatic spray mainly affected by electric field inducted by charging droplets was measured and investigated by PIV. The change law of spray flow field under the action of different charging voltage was presented.

We investigated numerically effects of the capillary number, the droplet size and the viscosity ratio on the transient stress responses of a Newtonian droplet suspended in a Newtonian liquid in a sliding bi-periodic frame that represents a flow of two dimensional droplet emulsions in simple shear flow. Understanding the relationship between the droplet deformation and the transient stress responses such as the bulk shear stress and the first normal stress is particularly emphasized, using this computational model problem, where the rheological properties of medium and droplet fluids and flow conditions can be accurately controlled.

가상화 기술이 적용된 클라우드 컴퓨팅 환경에서 정책을 관리하는 데 있어서 기존 물리적인 호스트 환경의 정책관리 기술을 사용하는 것은 가상자원이 보안제어의 최소단위이고 가상머신의 동작 위치가 유동적으로 변경될 수 있기 때문에 비효율적이다. 가상화 환경의 정책관리는 이러한 가상머신의 이동으로 인하여 정책을 적용해야 할 물리호스트의 위치가 수시로 변경되고, 가상머신의 생성, 복사, 삭제 등 가상머신의 동적 변화가 손쉽기 때문에 이를 인지하고 기존 정책을 적용하는 것이 어렵다. 그래서 이를 개선하기 위한 새로운 기준의 정책관리 방안이 필요하며 본 논문에서는 관리자가 지정한 특성을 공유하는 가상머신 그룹을 이용한 정책관리 방안을 제안한다.
