In this paper, we suggest a polishing head with a mechanical gimbals-like structure for the optics fabrication. In the small tool polishing processes, several types of polishing mechanism have been tried to get more deterministic and high efficient optical fabrication. The conventional polishing processes to use the contacting pad material of polyurethane or pitch need the higher polishing rate to shorten the overall polishing time for large optics. Therefore, new polishing head mechanism is designed to use the air backpressure and gimbals-like hinge structure to increase polishing velocity. In the following experiment, mechanical adaptability was confirmed both on the flat glass and the convex aluminum surface.

<P>OBJECTIVES: Angelicae Tenuissimae Radix has traditionally been used for treating headache, flu-like symptoms, limb-ache and disability, and even for treating toothache. We investigated the anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect of Angelicae Tenuissimae Radix on lipopolysaccharide-induced inflammation. METHODS: For this study, 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide assay, reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction, prostaglandin E(2) immunoassay and nitric oxide detection in mouse BV2 microglial cells were performed. RESULTS: Angelicae Tenuissimae Radix suppressed prostaglandin E(2) synthesis and nitric oxide production by inhibiting the lipopolysaccharide-induced expressions of cyclooxygenase-2 and inducible nitric oxide synthase messenger RNA in mouse BV2 microglial cells. DISCUSSION: The present study indicates that Angelicae Tenuissimae Radix can be applied as a valuable treatment for brain inflammation and headache.</P>

<P>In this paper, the design of a signal conditioning analog front-end (AFE) IC for an automotive piezo-resistive type pressure sensor is presented. To improve the pressure-sensing accuracy and compensate for variations in the pressure sensor and signal conditioning IC, gauge factor calibration, digital automatic offset, and gain calibration are proposed and implemented with low power consumption. By using a high-resolution analog-to-digital converter and digital-to-analog converter, the digital automatic calibration circuit can guarantee linearity of output voltage with respect to pressure to within 0.5%. As the analog signal is converted to a digital signal, accuracy in the AFE IC improves. To improve the reliability in the automotive environment, over-voltage and reverse-voltage protection circuits are integrated with the electrostatic discharge protection circuit. Also, electromagnetic interference is reduced by using the proposed spread spectrum clock generator.</P> <P>The proposed design is implemented using 2P4M 0.35 μm CMOS technology with an active area of 1.94 mm × 1.94 mm. Full output ranges from 0.5 to 4.5 V. The ratiometricity error is within ±0.25% when the supply voltage is changed by ±10%. Current consumption is 4.7 mA from a 5 V supply. The output accuracy is within ±0.5% with respect to the PVT variations.</P>

<P>Astragalus extract mixture HT042 is a standardized ingredient of health functional food approved by Korean FDA with a claim of “height growth of children.” HT042 stimulates bone growth rate and increases local IGF-1 expression in growth plate of rats which can be considered as direct stimulation of GH and its paracrine/autocrine actions. However, it remains unclear whether HT042 stimulates circulatory IGF-1 which also plays a major role to stimulate bone growth. To determine the effects on circulatory IGF-1, IGF-1 and IGFBP-3 expressions and phosphorylation of JAK2/STAT5 were evaluated in the liver after 10 days of HT042 administration. HT042 upregulated liver IGF-1 and IGFBP-3 mRNA expression, IGF-1 protein expression, and phosphorylation of JAK2/STAT5. HT042 also increased bone growth rate and proliferative zonal height in growth plate. In conclusion, HT042 stimulates bone growth rate via increment of proliferative rate by upregulation of liver IGF-1 and IGFBP-3 mRNA followed by IGF-1 protein expression through phosphorylation of JAK2/STAT5, which can be regarded as normal functioning of GH-dependent endocrine pathway. </P>
A Simple Static Noise Margin Model of MOS CML Gate in CMOS Processes
Hocheol Jeong,Jaehyun Kang,Kang-Yoon Lee,Minjae Lee 대한전자공학회 2017 Journal of semiconductor technology and science Vol.17 No.3
This paper presents a simple noise margin (NM) model of MOS current mode logic (MCML) gates especially in CMOS processes where a large device mismatch deteriorates logic reliability. Tradeoffs between speed and logic reliability are discussed, and a simple yet accurate NM equation to capture process-dependent degradation is proposed. The proposed NM equation is verified for 130-㎚, 110-㎚, 65-㎚, and 40-㎚ CMOS processes and has errors less than 4% for all cases.
Vasorelaxant Effect of Osterici Radix Ethanol Extract on Rat Aortic Rings
Lee, Kyungjin,Park, Geunyong,Ham, Inhye,Yang, Gabsik,Lee, Mihwa,Bu, Youngmin,Kim, Hocheol,Choi, Ho-Young Hindawi Publishing Corporation 2013 Evidence-based Complementary and Alternative Medic Vol.2013 No.-
<P>The root of <I>Ostericum koreanum</I> Maximowicz has been used as a traditional medicine called “Kanghwal” in Korea (or “Qianghuo” in China). The purpose of this study was to investigate the vasorelaxant activity and mechanism of action of an ethanol extract of the <I>O. koreanum</I> root (EOK). We used isolated rat aortic rings to assess the effects of EOK on various vasorelaxant or vasoconstriction factors. EOK induced vasorelaxation in phenylephrine hydrochloride (PE) or KCl precontracted aortic rings in a concentration-dependent manner. However, the vasorelaxant effects of EOK on endothelium-intact aortic rings were reduced by pretreatment with <SMALL>L</SMALL>-NAME or methylene blue. In Ca2+-free Krebs-Henseleit solution, pretreatment with EOK (0.3 mg/mL) completely inhibited PE-induced constriction. In addition, EOK (0.3 mg/mL) also completely inhibited vasoconstriction induced by supplemental Ca2+ in aortic rings that were precontracted with PE or KCl. Furthermore, the EOK-induced vasorelaxation in PE-contracted aortic rings was inhibited by preincubation with nifedipine. These results indicate that the vasorelaxant effects of EOK are responsible for the induction of NO formation from <SMALL>L</SMALL>-Arg and NO-cGMP pathways, blockage of the extracellular Ca2+ entry via the receptor-operative Ca2+ channel and voltage-dependent calcium channel, and blockage of sarcoplasmic reticulum Ca2+ release via the inositol triphosphate pathway.</P>
