This study proposed the algorithm on the estimation time of bus arrival time, using queue lengths, rules for running traffic signal and GPS position datum. The estimated values by means of proposal algorithms were done by the statistical application test. In this study, queue lengths and vehicle discharge properties based on the video photograph had been surveyed in three traffic signal intersection. The surveyed datum were analyzed that discharge headway times from one to three were about 2.5 seconds. the others were about 1.8 seconds. The datum for investigation and the calculation values by means of proposal algorithms revealed that the results based on the t-test are statistically significant.
A Study on the Modeling of Transitional Lateral Force Acting on the Berthing Ship by CFD

To evaluate the unsteady motion in laterally berthing maneuver, it is necessary to estimate clearly the magnitudes and properties of hydrodynamic forces acting on ship hull in shallow water. A numerical simulation has been performed to investigate quantitatively the hydrodynamic force according to water depth for Wigley model using the CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) technique. By comparing the computational results with the experimental ones, the validity of the CFD method was verified. The numerical solutions successfully captured some features of transient flow around the berthing ship. The transitional lateral force in a state ranging from the rest to the uniform motion is modeled by using the concept of circulation.
Composite Overlapping Meshes for the Solution of Radiation Forces on Submerged-Plate

The purpose of this study is to predict and understand the hydrodynamic forces and their nonlinear behaviors of fluid motion around the submerged plate oscillating near a free surface. To achieve this objective, we have developed a composite grid method for the solution of a radiation problem. The domain is divided into two different grids; one is a moving grid system and the other is a fixed grid system. The moving grid is employed for the body fitted coordinate system and moves with the body. This numerical method is applied to calculation of radiation forces generated by the submerged plate oscillating near a free surface. In order to investigate the characteristics of the radiation forces, the forced heaving tests have been performed with several amplitudes and different submergences near a free surface. These experimental results are compared with the numerical ones obtained by the present method and a linear potential theory. As a result, we can confirm the accuracy of the present method. Finally, the effect of nonlinear and viscous damping has been evaluated on the hydrodynamic forces acting on the submerged plate.
On the Development of an Information Service System for Navigational Safety of Seagoing Vessels

This study aims to develop the information service system of navigational safety for seagoing vessels. It has been successful in developing the intended system which has made possible to provide the following functions and capabilities: * immediate computation of the dynamic motions of a ship against the present and future weather conditions; * evaluation of the integrated seakeeping performance of a ship on a real time basis and providing the navigators with the navigational information on the spot enabling them to take the most appropriate countermeasures; and * supporting the navigators in the selection of a safe sailing route by providing the integrated seakeeping performance.

국제해사기구(IMO)는 해양 사고의 예방 및 원인 분석을 목적으로 선박에 항해기록장치(VDR)의 설치를 의무화하였다. 그러나 해양 사고의 약 10%를 차지하고 있는 전복.좌초.침몰 사고의 경우 기존의 VDR 기록 데이터로는 사고 원인 분석에 한계가 있다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 기존의 VDR에 기록되어져야 하는 IMO 권고 기록 데이터 이외에 내항성능 평가에 필요한 선체 상하가속도를 VDR의 추가 기록 데이터로 채택하여 선박의 항해위험도를 평가함으로써 전복.침몰 사고에 대한 정량적인 원인 분석에 적용하고자 한다. For the purpose of technological analysis in the marine accidents and their prevention, IMO have made it obligatory to local VDR which is similar to the black box in aircraft. However, in case of body sinkage, capsizing, standing and plunging which are almost 10% of marine accidents, it is difficult to take out the necessary data from the VDR in order to analyze the cause of them. Therefore, this paper apply the navigation dangerousness evaluation technology to the VDR to improve its performance. And we suggest that the vertical acceleration which is one of the factors for evaluation seakeeping performance of a ship is to be added in the existing VDR record data recommended by IMO.

선회중 전복한 저건현 내항 탱커의 복원성에 관한 연구 (1)

전복한 저건현 내항 탱커의 사고 원인을 조사하기 위하여 복원성에 영향을 미치는 자유표면영향과 저건현 선박에서 발생하는 해수침입, 침수침하 현상에 대하여 알아보았다. 그리고 선회시에 발생하는 경사 모멘트를 계산하고 사고 선박의 경사 모멘트를 추정하였다. 이상의 결과로부터 사고 선박의 복원성 상실에 의한 전복 원인을 고찰하였다. A coastwise chemical tanker sailing at full speed has capsized in calm water and wile turing. We investigate reasons of the accident and demonstrate that a proper correction for the free surface effect of the liquid cargo has not been practiced in the initial design stage and that the bow-sinkage induced in sailing has weakened the form stability of the ship. It is also shown that the liquid cargo shift occurring in turning generated a significant outward heel moment.

Activating signal cointegrator-2(ASC-2), also reported as AIB3, TRBP, RAP250, NRC and PRIP, directly binds to and functions as a coactivator molecule of nuclear receptors and many other transcription factors. In particular, our previous results from microinjection of anti-ASC2 antibody demonstrated that ASC-2 is required for transactivation by nuclear receptors and AP-1 in vivo. Here we show that ASC-2 belongs to a steady-state complex of approximately 2 MDa(ASCOM for ASC-2 complex) in HeLa nuclei, which contains mammalian homologues of Drosophila Trithorax group(Trx-G) proteins ALR-1, ALR-2, HALR and ASH2. ALR-1/2 and HALR contain a SET domain that specifically methylates histone H3 lysine 4(K4). We further demonstrate that retinoic acid receptor(RAR) transactivation requires retinoid-dependent recruitment of ASCOM to DNA-bound RAR in vivo. Thus, ASCOM represents the first mammalian coactivator complex with H3/K4-methylase activity, directly recruited to nuclear receptors.
Forecasting Model for Korean Ships' Detention In Port State Control

Very often has it happened that Korean flag ships were detained due to the defect of the ship itself at the port they are entering into by the system of Port State Control(PSC) It does matter because the high detention ratio of Korean ships causes to increase the survey ratio of Korean ships by PSC countries, which increases overall operating costs of Korean shipping companies. Therefore Korean government should take tougher action on the detention of Korean ships. The study uses 946 inspections to formulate the model of identifying PSC-weak ships by logistic regression analysis.
