Chernyshov, Denis V.,Shin, Woo Cheol The Korean Electrochemical Society 2014 Journal of electrochemical science and technology Vol.5 No.4
Electrochemical performance of Li-ion cells with $LiMn_2O_4$ cathodes and graphite anodes with carbonates electrolytes containing quaternary ammonium-based room temperature ionic liquids (ILs) is investigated. Eight different ILs based on tetraalkylammonium, pyrrolidinium or piperidinium cations paired with bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide or tris(pentafluoroethyl)trifluorophosphate anions are examined in combination with dimethyl carbonate as a main solvent and fluoroethylene carbonate as a solid electrolyte interface forming agent. It is shown that cycling properties of the cells are strongly affected by the content of ILs in the electrolyte mixtures and its increase corresponds to lower discharge capacity retention. Since viscosity and conductivity of ILs are of a great importance for the electrolytes formulation, some kind of combined parameter should be used for the assessment of IL applicability and calculated values of Walden products for neat ILs represent one of the possible options. Besides, positive effect of ILs on reduction of flammability and enhancement of thermal stability of electrolytes in contact with charged electrodes have been demonstrated by means of self-extinguishing time test and differential scanning calorimetry respectively.
Does transanal endoscopic microsurgery affect rectal function?
Khomyakov Evgeniy,Chernyshov Stanislav,Fomenko Oksana,Rybakov Evgeny 대한대장항문학회 2023 Annals of Coloproctolgy Vol.39 No.4
Purpose: Transanal endoscopic microsurgery (TEM) is the most standardized method for the local excision of rectal neoplasms. Unfortunately, local excisions of rectal lesions by means of TEM are not completely free from undesirable functional sequela. This study was performed to evaluate the risk factors of major loss of function after TEM. Methods: Eighty-nine patients underwent TEM between 2019 and 2020. Anorectal manometry was performed before the surgery and 3, 6, and 12 months after the surgery. The quality of life (QoL) was assessed using the Fecal Incontinence Quality of Life scale. Results: The major decrease in QoL was observed in women in 3 months after the surgery in terms of lifestyle and frustration domains (3.6 and 3.64 points, respectively). In 3 months after the surgery, there was a significant decrease in resting pressure both in male and female patients (P=0.01). This difference remained significant 6 months after the surgery (P=0.01). In 12 months after the surgery, resting pressure returned to the preoperative level in most patients (P=0.50). A significant decrease in manometric parameters appeared when the surgery time is more than 55 minutes (P=0.05), the tumor localization is lower than 3 cm from the anus (P=0.03), and the tumor size is over 3 cm (P=0.001). Conclusion: The most significant risk factors for the development of functional disorders after TEM are surgery time of >55 minutes, tumor localization at <3 cm from the anal verge, and tumor size of >3 cm.
Total neoadjuvant therapy in rectal cancer: a network meta-analysis of randomized trials
Sychev Sergey,Ponomarenko Aleksey,Chernyshov Stanislav,Alekseev Mikhail,Mamedli Zaman,Kuzmichev Dmitriy,Polynovskiy Andrey,Rybakov Evgeny 대한대장항문학회 2023 Annals of Coloproctolgy Vol.39 No.4
Purpose: To assess the efficacy of total neoadjuvant therapy (TNT) for rectal carcinoma in comparison with conventional chemoradiotherapy (CRT). Methods: A systematic review was performed according to the PRISMA guidelines. A Bayesian network meta-analysis was done using NetMetaXL and WinBUGS. This study was registered in PROSPERO on March 3, 2022 (No. CRD-42022307867). Results: Outcomes of 2,719 patients from 10 randomized trials between 2010 and 2022 were selected. Of these 1,191 (44%) had conventional long-course CRT (50–54 Gy) and capecitabine, 506 (18%) had induction chemotherapy followed by CRT (50–54 Gy) and capecitabine (iTNT), 230 (9%) had long-course CRT (50–54 Gy) followed by consolidation chemotherapy (cTNT), and 792 (29%) undergone modified short-course radiotherapy (25 Gy) with subsequent chemotherapy (mTNT). Total pathologic complete response (pCR) was 20% in the iTNT group, 21% in the mTNT group, 22% in the cTNT group, and 12% in the CRT group. Statistically significant difference in pCR rates was detected when comparing iTNT with CRT (odds ratio [OR], 1.76; 95% credible interval [CrI], 1.06–2.8), mTNT with CRT (OR, 1.90; 95% CrI, 1.25–2.74), and cTNT with CRT groups (OR, 2.54; 95% CrI, 1.26–5.08). No differences were found in R0 resection rates. No significant difference was found in long-term outcomes. Conclusion: The early administration of systemic chemotherapy in the TNT regimen has improved short-term outcomes, though long-term results are underreported. Randomized trials with survival as the endpoint are necessary to evaluate the possible advantages of TNT modes.
Depth resolution in three-dimensional images.
Son, Jung-Young,Chernyshov, Oleksii,Lee, Chun-Hae,Park, Min-Chul,Yano, Sumio The Society 2013 Journal of the Optical Society of America. A, Opti Vol.30 No.5
<P>The depth of field of a camera defines the depth range to be covered by the camera. In 3D images, the resolvable depth range is also determined by the depth of field (DOF). Hence the depth resolution and resolvable number of depth layers obtainable with a given 3D display will be defined within the DOF when the display has the same resolution as the total camera resolution of the array in the horizontal direction. The depth resolution and resolvable number of depth layers are mathematically derived in terms of the circle of confusion. The resolvable number of depth layers is approximately linearly proportional to the camera distance and inversely proportional to the aperture diameter of the camera objective. The accuracies of the derivations are examined experimentally. The results show that the DOF extends slightly and the depth resolution improves up to 20% more than that predicted by theory for the given experimental condition. This means that the depth resolution derived has more than 80% accuracy.</P>
SPECTRUM OF RELATIVISTIC AND SUBRELATIVISTIC COSMIC RAYS IN THE 100 pc CENTRAL REGION

<P>From the rate of hydrogen ionization and the gamma-ray flux, we derived the spectrum of relativistic and subrelativistic cosmic rays (CRs) nearby and inside the molecular cloud Sgr B2 near the Galactic Center. We studied two cases of CR propagation in molecular clouds: free propagation and scattering of particles by magnetic fluctuations excited by the neutral gas turbulence. We showed that in the latter case CR propagation inside the cloud can be described as diffusion with a coefficient of similar to 3 x 10(27) cm(2) s(-1). For the case of hydrogen ionization by subrelativistic protons, we showed that their spectrum outside the cloud is quite hard with a spectral index of delta > -1. The energy density of subrelativistic protons (>50 eV cm(-3)) is one order of magnitude higher than that of relativistic CRs. These protons generate the 6.4 keV emission from Sgr B2, which was about 30% of the flux observed by Suzaku in 2013. Future observations for the period after 2013 may discover the background flux generated by subrelativistic CRs in Sgr B2. Alternatively, hydrogen ionization of the molecular gas in Sgr B2 may be caused by high energy electrons. We showed that the spectrum of electron bremsstrahlung is harder than the observed continuum from Sgr B2, and in principle, this X-ray component provided by electrons could be seen from the INTEGRAL data as a stationary high energy excess above the observed spectrum E-x(-2).</P>
