      • Electro-hyperthermia up-regulates tumour suppressor Septin 4 to induce apoptotic cell death in hepatocellular carcinoma

        <P>Purpose: Modulated electro-hyperthermia (mEHT) has been shown to be effective against various types of human tumours, including hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Here we aimed to investigate the molecular mechanism underlying the cytotoxic effects of mEHT to HCC cells. Materials and methods: Human liver cancer cell lines, Huh7 and HepG2, were treated with mEHT (42 degrees C/60 min) three times at 2-day intervals. Growth inhibition and apoptotic induction were evaluated using MTS, microscopic analysis, a clonogenic assay, annexin V/PI staining and a ccK18 ELISA. Global changes in gene expression were examined using RNA sequencing to obtain insights into molecular changes in response to mEHT. For in vivo evaluation of mEHT we used HepG2 HCC xenografts grown in nude mice. Results: mEHT suppressed HCC cell proliferation and long-term colony formation through induction of apoptosis. The growth inhibitory effects are induced through a subset of molecular changes. Notably the expression level of septin 4 (SEPT4) (involved in pro-apoptotic activity and growth suppression) was up-regulated, whereas a key regulator of invasiveness G-Protein coupled receptor 64 (GPR64) was repressed. Subsequent Western blotting confirmed that the common increase in tumour suppressor SEPT4 in both Huh7 and HepG2 cells is accompanied by the restoration of cyclin-dependent kinase (CDK) inhibitor p21 and decrease in pro-caspase 7 and pro-caspase 3, thereby accelerating apoptotic signalling in HCC cells. Additionally, mEHT significantly inhibited the growth of human HCC xenografts in nude mice. Conclusions: These findings suggest that apoptotic cell death induced by mEHT is mediated by the up-regulation of tumour suppressor SEPT4 in human HCC cells.</P>

        슬래브를 가지는 3차원 골조구조물에 진동을 유발하는 기계하중이 재하되면, 동적 거동을 고려하여 구조물을 설계할 필요가 있다. 구조물의 정.동적 해석에서 보다 정확한 해를 얻기위해 기하학적 형상, 재료특성, 경계조건 및 하중조건 등을 실제 구조물에 근접하도록 이상화시켜야 한다. 본 연구에서는 구조물 해석에 유한요소법을 사용하였으며, 본 연구의 목적은 동적 하중을 받는 건축구조물에 대한 동적 운동방정식의 정식화 및 구조물 해석에 적용할 수 있는 프로그램의 개발이며 이 프로그램으로 슬래브 임의 위치에서 진동하는 기계가 재하될 때 구조물의 동적 거동을 해석하는 것이다. When dynamic force such as mechanical load which create vibration is applied to the three-dimensional framed structure with slab, dynamic analysis is an essential part of the design work. In order to obtain the accurate result of either static or dynamic analysis, idealization of geometrical shape, material properties, boundary conditions and loading conditions have to be as close to the actuality. The aim of this study is formulation of the equation for dynamic motion and development of finite element program which can be accommodated to analysis of dynamic behavior of building structures.

      • 폐타이어 담체를 이용한 유동상 생물막공정의 고도처리 효율에 관한 연구

        Organic and nutrient removal was investigated in a full scale fluidized phase biofilm process of 800m-(3)/day using waste tire media for domestic wastewater treatment. Various internal reciculation ratio was set as an operation condition to enhance nitrogen removal efficiency. The process operation results are as follows. Significantly high removal efficiency above 94% could be obtained by the biofilm process in terms of organics(BOD&COD_(Mn)) and suspended solid(SS). Relatively low nitrogen removal of 53% was observed at the internal recycling 100% of influent flow rate. However the removal efficiency could be increased to 70% at 200% internal recycling. The process showed also considerably high T-P removal efficiency of 80% producing effluent concentration of 0.68mg/L for 3.38mg/L influent.

        Logistics in construction project includes purchase, procurement and transportation on the network consisting of contractor, subcontractor, supplier, manufacturer, carrier and so on. Collaborations and integrations among the each participants play a key role. It is necessary that we take advantage of recent information technology in order to optimize logistics and achieve collaborative integration. The use of extensible markup language(XML) has been continued increasingly in recent years. This research aims at presenting conceptual Logistics system based on XML/EDI. Various participant in construction project will have more efficient and malleable Logistics atmosphere.

      • 설계추진단계별 설계VE의 효율적 적용 방안

        The purpose of this study is to propose an efficient design-VE job plan and applicable methods in each phase of design process. This is for more effective and practical use of VE in design phase. This study focuses on differences of the VE target selection phase and function analysis phase in each phase of design process. In the phase of preliminary design, conceptual sketch, size, use, or major spaces of project are selected for VE target and function assessment step is skipped because present cost and function cost cannot be produced easily in early in early phase of design. At the end of preliminary design phase, function review phase is added which consists of function satisfactory indices review step and unsatisfactory function removal step.

        탱고 backward walk 동작시 신발 굽 유형에 따른 하지의 근전도 분석

        The purpose of this research is to provide scientific training guides and the basis for preventing injuries in performing tango backward walk by comparing the effects the height and shape of a heel will have on leg muscles and determining the difference between skilled and unskilled dancers through EMG analysis according to different types of shoes Total eight female athletes were selected for this research. Four with six years of professional dancing experience and another four with one year of dance sports experience. Utilizing the EMG system, rectus femoris, biceps femoris, anterior tibialis, gastrocnemius were measured under different heights (0cm, 5cm, 7cm, 9cm) and shapes (flat, fine, wide) of a heel. Experiments were conducted calculating EMG peak value and muscle load ration under different types of shoes in order to analyze the EMG of leg muscles and Erector Spinae when performing tango backward walk. The result was as follows: 1. The EMG peak value of leg muscles showed significant difference under different heights of a heel in anterior tibialis(p<.001) and gastrocnemius(p.<01) in case of skilled dancers, and in biceps femoris(p.<01) in case of unskilled dancers. 2. The EMG peak value of leg muscles showed significant difference under different shapes of a heel in anterior tibialis(p<.001) and gastrocnemius(p<.001) in case of skilled dancers, and showed no significant difference in case of unskilled dancers. 3. The muscle load ration of leg muscles showed different degrees of muscle contribution between skilled and unskilled dancers. The muscle load ration was in the order of anterior tibialis, rectus femoris, biceps femoris, and gastrocnemius in case of skilled dancers and anterior tibialis, gastrocnemius, biceps femoris, and rectus femoris in case of unskilled dancers.

        Nowadays, construction projects are increasing its complexities, risks and demands for greater' input and management skill. Also owners are gradually inclined to transfer their risks to other parties. In order to respond this situation, it is necessary that the different kinds of delivery systems suitable for the clients' needs be diversified and adapted to the Korean construction industry. In this background, the study is to present the approach to introduce CM at risk, one of the alternative delivery systems in Korea, by revising some regulations and proposing various types of this system.

So, there have been many studies to improve the safety performance of construction projects. But, the most of them were dealt with controls in the job site and the contractor. For these reasons, the purpose of this study(Construction Safety Management) is two-part. : One is showing the basic items composed of prequalification in Construction Safety Management, and the other is improving the selection method to meet the owner's needs including a Contractor's Safety Management Performance.

        Design-Build is considered as the project delivery system to manage construction process more efficiently than design-bid-build. So Korea government has encouraged Design-Build in public sector. But single selection method of weighted criteria doesn't provide the greatest value to owner. Therefore, there is a need to improve selection method to meet owner's needs and project characteristics. This study proposes four types of selection method. Each of selection method is focused on price, qualification, time. The use of these selection methods enable owner to provide the greatest value.
