        Electrochemical performance study of hydrothermally synthesized CoSe in aqueous Li2SO4 and Na2SO4 electrolytes

        The electrochemical performance of CoSe nanoparticles in 1M Li2SO4 and 1M Na2SO4 aqueous electrolytes solution were investigated. The electrochemical studies of CoSe nanoparticles shows higher specific capacitance in 1M Na2SO4 electrolyte. This is mainly due to low electrochemical impedance offered by active material and fast speed migration of hydrated ions in bulk electrolyte of 1M Na2SO4 solution. In addition, cyclic voltammetry stability study shows retention of specific capacitance about 92% and 89% in 1M Na2SO4 and 1M Li2SO4 respectively, even after 1000 continuous cyclic voltammetry cycles at a scan rate of 25 mV s-1. This study provides valuable data to develop new hybrid supercapacitor and can be used as a positive electrode for an asymmetric supercapacitor.

        Today, both sides of modern culture are decisively invaded by digitalization. Authentication is considered to be one of the main components in keeping this process secure. Cyber criminals are working hard in penetrating through the existing network channels to encounter malicious attacks. When it comes to enterprises, the company's information is a major asset. Question here arises is how to protect the vital information. This takes into account various aspects of a society often termed as hyper connected society including online communication, purchases, regulation of access rights and many more. In this research paper, we will discuss about the concepts of MFA and KBA, i.e., Multi-Factor Authentication and Knowledge Based Authentication. The purpose of MFA and KBA its utilization for human.to.everything..interactions, offering easy to be used and secured validation mechanism while having access to the service. In the research, we will also explore the existing yet evolving factor providers (sensors) used for authenticating a user. This is an important tool to protect data from malicious insiders and outsiders. Access Management main goal is to provide authorized users the right to use a service also preventing access to illegal users. Multiple techniques can be implemented to ensure access management. In this paper, we will discuss various techniques to ensure access management suitable for enterprises, primarily focusing/restricting our discussion to multifactor authentication. We will also highlight the role of knowledge-based authentication in multi factor authentication and how it can make enterprises data more secure from Cyber Attack. Lastly, we will also discuss about the future of MFA and KBA.

        Ultrafine nanoparticles of tin-cobalt-sulfide decorated over 2D MXene sheets as a cathode material for high-performance asymmetric supercapacitor

        The design of electrode materials for improved electrochemical properties and stable geometric configurationis known as effective research in developing the electrochemical capability of supercapacitors(SCs). However, there is a difficulty in designing innovative composite material with excellent electricalconductivity and superior specific capacity by way of low cost and easy synthesis process. Herein, for thefirst time, a stable Sn-Co-S/MXene hybrid material is fabricated through the electrochemical assembly bycombining positively charged ultrafine Sn-Co-S nanoparticles (NPs) and negatively charged 2D Ti3C2Tx(MXene) sheets due to electrostatic interaction. The Sn-Co-S/MXene hybrid material has displayed excellentelectrochemical performance with an ultrahigh specific capacity of 305.71 mA h gm1 at 1 A g1 andcapacity retention of 94.8% after 10, 000 charge–discharge cycles. The Sn-Co-S/MXene hybrid material ofhigh electrochemical performance has improved charge transfer kinetics during the charge–dischargeprocess, due to the synergistic coupling effect between ultrafine Sn-Co-S nanoparticles and MXenesheets. Furthermore, the Sn-Co-S/MXene//activated carbon (AC) asymmetric supercapacitor (ASC) devicehas been configured with the assistance of Sn-Co-S/MXene as cathode and AC as anode materials. The Sn-Co-S/MXene//AC ASC device exhibits a stable potential window of 1.7 V, a high specific capacitance of108.50F g1 at 1 A g1, and an energy density of 43.55Wh kg1 at a power density of 0.83 kW kg1. This study validates the design and application of highly electroactive Sn-Co-S/MXene hybrid electrodematerial for ultrastable asymmetric supercapacitors.

      • Comparative proteomics and global genome-wide expression data implicate role of ARMC8 in lung cancer

        Background: Cancer loci comprise heterogeneous cell populations with diverse cellular secretions. Therefore, disseminating cancer-specific or cancer-associated protein antigens from tissue lysates could only be marginally correct, if otherwise not validated against precise standards. Materials and Methods: In this study, 2DE proteomic profiles were examined from lysates of 13 lung-adenocarcinoma tissue samples and matched against the A549 cell line proteome. A549 matched-cancer-specific hits were analyzed and characterized by MALDI-TOF/MS. Results: Comparative analysis identified a total of 13 protein spots with differential expression. These proteins were found to be involved in critical cellular functions regulating pyrimidine metabolism, pentose phosphate pathway and integrin signaling. Gene ontology based analysis classified majority of protein hits responsible for metabolic processes. Among these, only a single non-predictive protein spot was found to be a cancer cell specific hit, identified as Armadillo repeat-containing protein 8 (ARMC8). Pathway reconstruction studies showed that ARMC8 lies at the centre of cancer metabolic pathways. Conclusions: The findings in this report are suggestive of a regulatory role of ARMC8 in control of proliferation and differentiation in lung adenocarcinomas.

        Relative Expression of Apocarotenoid Biosynthetic Genes in Developing Stigmas of Crocus sativus L.

        Saffron, the desiccated stigmas of Crocus sativus, is recognized for its attractive color, flavor, and aroma which are due to the accumulation of crocin, picrocrocin, and safranal, respectively. HPLC analysis demonstrated maximum apocarotenoid accumulation during the fully developed scarlet stage of stigma development followed by the orange and yellow stages of stigma development. Reverse Transcription-PCR analysis revealed a concurrent expression pattern of CsZCD and CsLYC genes in a developmental stage-specific manner. However, CsBCH and CsGT2 genes were specifically expressed during the mature, scarlet stage of stigma development. Real-Time PCR analysis showed a sharp increase in gene expression of CsLYC gene during stigma development indicative of its possible regulatory role in apocarotenoid biosynthesis or stigma development. Results suggest that genetic manipulation of this gene can help to improve the quality of stigma in saffron; besides highlighting its potential to monitor stigma development during in vitro experimentation.

        Diagnosis and Management of Isolated Superior Mesenteric Artery Dissection: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

        The objective of this study was to analyze the three different management modalities for isolated superior mesenteric artery (SMA) dissection. We did a comprehensive literature search and found 703 articles on the initial search, out of which 111 articles consisting of 145 patients were selected for analysis. The mean age was 55.7 years (standard deviation,9.7;33–85) and 80.6% were male. These patients were managed conservatively (41.3%), endovascularly (28.1%) or surgically (30%). The median follow-up was 10 months (interquartile range [IQR], 4–18 months), 12 months (IQR, 6–19 months) and 14 months (IQR, 6–20 months) respectively. Contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CT) was the most commonly used diagnostic tool in the conservative group (43.8%), while conventional CT scan was the most widely used in endovascular (58.1%) and surgical group (50%). 17% percent of the conservative group had SMA angiography for diagnosis, while this was less than 3% in the other groups. Of these patients, 96.7%, 97.4%, and 100.0% recovered successfully in the conservative, endovascular, and surgical groups respectively. There was no significant difference in the mortality between the three groups (Pearson χ2=0.482). This suggests a conservative and endovascular approach could be used in most patients, which can reduce costs and surgery-related morbidity and mortality. Surgical management should be reserved for cases having infarction or widespread bowel ischemia and in cases where other treatment modalities fail.
